I was planning on writing a script where an enemy would target whatever pc had the most priest skill, and put anti-magic clouds on that pc. Obviously this would eliminate the party's ability to heal.....

The framework for this script would be magekiller (by *i and edited by Kel). None of the three versions of this script that I have tested worked quite how I hoped. Namely; whenever a warrior gets close to the monster, it starts focusing on the melee fighters, not the casters. Since this monster will be shooting anti-magic clouds, this would pretty much ruin its effectiveness.

So this is my question, is there a way to stop my script from changing targets? Also, is there a call like get_target_location to find the target's (x,y) coordinates?

I'd recommend that you read the Avernum Cookbook. It has helped me a lot when I was learning to do simple tasks.

And, of course, good luck.

Thank you for all the advice, I decided to use geocities because I already had a yahoo account.

I'll link the page to my sig when I'm finished with it, which won't be for a while.

I'm thinking about making my own web page, but I have no idea what web host would be best. I've seen people on these boards using a variety of different hosts for their own sites, so I figured where better to ask for advice.

I want it to be free, reliable, not many popups or banners, and relatively easily used. If anyone has suggestions, please include a link to the company's site.

Green walls and red floors, it'l be like Christmas in painville!!!

But seriously, most of those pictures look interesting. Try to incorporate those red waterfalls (sweeettt) but don't go to overboard with the red. If the entire temple is pure red it loses some effect.

Boa scenario's: what stage are they in now? in Blades of Avernum

I just started working on a scenario yesterday. I figure the chances are good that I complete it since its going to be small. For the same reason I probably won't send it to Spiderweb.

On a different note, if I make this scenario and want to make it downloadable from a personal website, how do I convert from a windows file so Mac users can download it?

Playstation 1 was the first console I ever owned, and FFVII was the first game I bought for said console. As far as I'm concerned it was all downhill from there.

He was in the tomb, but now he's back. I give to you.......

Anyway, thankyou for the more disguised way to hide from our evil overlord (some call it UBB, they are misinformed.)

On the subject of yoyos: A yoyo is a timeless toy made for children. The general idea is to throw it down, then by magic it returns to your hand. At first glance it is an idiotic and primitive diversion. However, it has a strange hypnotic power that makes me want to dig one out and throw it at the floor.

How does this at all relate to Dikiyoba? It obviously doesn't, although I will defend myself by saying that Dikiyoba "defies the physical laws of our universe as I perceive them", and offers "timeless entertainment." It also has fewer negative conotations than Dikiyoboi.

When Jeff stepped in the debate was heated, but still reasonable. Considering the fact that posts often had only a minute or so between them, it could turn into a flame war very quickly. Whether or not Jeff would then have been quick enough to stop any abortion clinics from being bombed it questionable. Think of all the innocent kittens stopping by for family entertainment!!!!!

And yes, Jeff can do whatever the hell he wants on his boards, and is justified in doing so.

If "Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery" I can only wonder who I impressed so much. :)

I suppose I could enlist the aid of my fluffiest of allies in getting the ultimate revenge on my overzealous admirer, or I could just throw a * at the end of Lazarus and look like a cheap imposter. Neither seem particularly attractive, so I will just take solace in knowing my name is already immortalized. Thank you Dikiyoyo for giving me some degree of dignity.

Didn't think this was worthy of its own thread, and since this topic comes close, here goes......

I changed my publicly displayed name from "Lazarus" a week ago. Now I try to change it back and it says this name is in use. I haven't seen anyone posting on the name Lazarus; is this just UBB being goofy? Its somewhat of a downer.

Lyonard pulling the strings for the new faction would actually have been an interesting wrinkle if pulled off right. Now the new faction is just the Hunters trying to shake off their old name and past mis-deads.

The air was crisp and the sky was clear of clouds. The soldiers’ armor and blades shone in the morning sun, flashes of sunlight danced across the Anama insignia on each man’s breast.

General Cyril wiped sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. The trip had been hot, but fairly uneventful. They had brought along several wagons to eventually carry ore out of Aminro, and one of these wagons had broken a wheel. It had caused a short delay, but travel over paved roads made it easy to make up time.

The troops reached a fork in the road about midday. The sign was faded, and had become unreadable. It didn’t matter, he already had a map of the area. He gave orders for the troops to rest and eat; then went in search of Lt. Trey.

It didn’t take long, as he only had a couple hundred men. He found the Lieutenant sitting apart from his soldiers, polishing a looking glass. He was a nondescript man, if you were to ask someone to describe him, they would probably say, “Well, erm……. He has dark hair. Black I think, or wait maybe brown. And well…. average height, lean but not skinny, he might have worn glasses I can’t recall.” Perhaps the reason he chose to wear an orange scarf tied around his arm was to counter his plainness.

“Lieutenant, take your scouts north to assess the situation in Aminro. I want to make sure we aren’t walking into anything.” This was unlikely; Aminro was a simple mining town with a few local guards.

“Yes general.” He wasted no time, and immediately began shouting orders to his scouts.

The general walked away to consult with some more of his officers. This was going well, soon his objective in Karnold would be achieved.

Do I smell a stick figure contest coming? Prizes can be leftovers from Slarty's themed party contest. I don't think there were enough entries to hand them all out (if only I could get screen shots from PS2, Carmageddon would be mine!!).

Bomber, you don't seem to have left your sanity at the door, sensitivity about having your spelling criticized included.

Very rarely have I seen a thread on the general boards stay on topic, usually this is only accomplished with someone resurrecting the original purpose of said thread repeatedly. Obviously no one had anything else to say about Geneforge vs Avernum, or else they would have said it and brought the topic back to the arguement. Debating and ranking Jeff's games is a fairly played out topic which has been thoroughly explored, if this thread hadn't gone off to talking about spelling, it probably would just have not been used for anything.

Heres my voice mail message.

"Hi, I don't want to talk to you right now. Please leave a message so I can ignore it."

*My friend once wanted to dial the number 867-5309 from the song. Unfortunately he couldn't remember the actual number, just the tune of the song. He spent most of the day singing random numbers to the song's tune, and we spent most of the day laughing at him.*
