Not got that far yet, but surely in A3, it could be possible to kill Rentar through extremely liberal utilisation of the editor? Put your strength etc up to max, punch up your level and go. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I don't think you'd want to, nonetheless, it's a weak creation, even with essence poured into it and the cost in living tools (unless you ignore every other skill and put all your SP into mechanics until you were level 20 or so), to get it, is prohibitive. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Eh, UBB isn't bad. We're on... *scrolls to bottom of page to check* 6.3.1.1 and it's okay. It serves the needs of the community. I prefer it to any of the Invision boards I've seen, not seen any of the others mentioned (to my memory) so I can't judge. Quite frankly, a different version of UBB would be nicer, SR uses 6.5.0 and that uses colour schemes for its pages and supports the use of avatars (remotely linked, before someone throws a hissy fit), but it is at the expense of being able to change your PDN (though that's probably just a board preference). -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Now that you mention it, I think I vaguely remember a guest appearance a couple of months ago. It was only something like two posts and was quite random. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Probably a deleted account. That and eight others account for why the reg. members count on the main page is off. Though, looking at the Polaris list, it does seem to me that there are more than nine... -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Indeed, when he was, in fact, perfectly correct. At the end of the Final Gauntlet, you arrive at a door and have to say the password (though I might be completely wrong and it's a door at the START.) Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Soooo... Thuryl is a useful tool for anyone in the engineering sector. Riiiiiight... I can see how that might exempt him from human norms, being an inanimate object and everything. And actually, Djur, he did score points. He actually, sucessfully, defined the problem. He did whitter off into babling later on, but still scored. And it would have helped if you had something better than a flame/spam post to respond to it. Maybe some actual on-topic sense? Just a tip. :D I think the salient points here are: quote: quote: quote: quote:The rest was either repetition or just posing and stupidity. I also did it in this form because otherwise, I would not only be repeating myself, but would also be continuing. Therefore, that is a summary. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Congratulations on 2000 Aran. Nice cover. ;) Landmark announcements for posts should be non-spam. They are events that don't happen often and we should all bask in the warm glow of it when it does. And Lighter, "Anomyous" is actually spelt anonymous. Just a tip. :D -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Oh I like. I like alot. Slighting without having to openly say it. Slightly cowardly, but effective nonetheless. The point was that we are all stupid sometimes. Some more than others. Specialisation to a point. For example (because I know you love them so) George Bush is an idiot. It is a widely aknowledged fact. He lacks basic vocabulary skills, is grossly misinformed about facts and has an IQ of a chimpanzee. Stephen Hawkings is a genius. His theories in Quantum Mechanics and Astronomy have greatly increased our understanding in the world and he possesses an IQ of over 200. But occasionally, George Bush does some very smart things. And Stephen Hawkings does some very stupid things. But they're both socially defunct, so I suppose it matters not. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Wisdom is merely raw knowledge. Intelligence is what helps you apply that in a useful manner. One without the other is pointless. And when that happens, it produces stupidity. It is good to keep an open mind, but assumptions must be made, otherwise you won't get anything done. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Ladies and gentlemen, what our very own "secret bionic experiment by the Australian government" seems to miss, is that each of us are only as smart as we are and we should not look down on others, based on intelligence, but instead, attempt to enrich those who lack. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Bah. All people are stupid including myself. But it fades in and out. For example, there are many extremely competent professionals in the computer field, who can create programs which the world relies on, yet they can all have trouble from tying their own shoes, to being unable to use a coffee machine. It's all stupidity to a point. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

If you're certain it was a ban, it would mean that it was an IP ban. It doesn't just ban one account, it bans your PC. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

The only other one I could see was the Vahnatai. But no-one has written a description for them yet. Not surprising really, a good description would probably be over twice the size of Aran's slith one. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

That as may be Djur, but it didn't stop me. Back on the original topic (old as it is), surely another method (if you wanted to go extreme, without cheating) is just leaving the scenario and coming back to try it again. You have to do all the quests again, but you start with a char better than level 1. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

As for your Athron problem, the only way is using the Char editor to unkill major NPCs or the dragons. Something like that. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I think that the point that was trying to be made, was that if you have the link directly to the zip, you can put it on as popular a site as you want, while it's actually hosted on say, Micael's webspace. In that case, the Underdogs would probably be quite happy to have it linked from their database, other sites too. The advantages being, that it's on a high-profile site and good for them because they don't have to use their bandwith and webspace on any more than reviews and a link to the zip. Think about it.
