Darn you Aran, you just insulted the game I'm presently playing and wasting time on. It can have good graphics, it just depends on how much effort someone has put into a "world". Though there is alot of sitting around and jabbering. Also, it has counted how much time I've wasted over the last year and a half. Over eight hundred and twenty hours. Jeez, I get bored easily. The curse of being a student... EDIT: Aran, unless someone is guilty of name theft, how did I know you'd be an Aeri player? I'm a CV/Aeri/EG player. Actually, the modern cause of evil is boredom. We are all supposed to live in a modern age where life is easy. Unfortunately, in the average area, there are not enough amenities to take care of all the extra time. So we are used to squandering and wasting time. If everyone had something to do, then there wouldn't be a group of people sitting around and thinking about declaring war on another country or going out and blowing up a train. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

A good RP would be pretty cool. Just out of interest, what was Mung's last one called? And also Kel, some of us have "voicing a relevant opinion and helping newbs" and some of us have "quintuple posting of various questionable images". And for some reason, people care about their post counts. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

A tip to you sir; this topic was several months old and you just rez'd it. However, you had something meaningful to say and you are new. So we shall most likely, ignore the rez'ing. It's merely a matter of perseverance finding passages as Romans. Of course, I think you can get scrolls which cast the relevant spell. The easisest thing to do is to explore all of an area where you can, then using the automap, look for spots where a secret area is likely to be. Jeff really likes stuffing his maps to the brim. The Sliths and Nephilim are both feared and hated by the Empire as a whole. Maybe not individuals, but the leadership of the Empire is very biased against them. Perhaps they are viewed as "strange" or "outlandish". In real life, Americans might be the same towards people from China. They would be more inclined to believe someone from their own country, holding a gun to their head, rather than someone from across the world, holding a loaf of bread. They try to see similarities in someone who they think they might be able to relate to and connect with, rather than try to understand a new type of person and open their mind. That aside, the Empire sent people down to Avernum/Exile because they were either dissenters or they weren't very nice people. Would you trust people like that if you had no conception that it was all the Empire propaganda machine? Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Well, first you have to talk to Erika or someone similar to hear mention of the Royal Seal. Then you have to cure Hawthisa, Patrick's wife, using Graymold Salve. Then you talk to Patrick about Grah-Hoth's old fort and he will tell you to press a button in his desk or look at one of the bookshelves in his office. Find the password in there and then go to the Castle, use the password on the barrier and you will have the key. I think that's the key you're talking about, anyway... You get extremely poisoned if you try to take the cache, but there are people willing to reward you for the destruction of it. Solberg's Tower is something you have to visit to win the game. Poking around the Tower of Magi will provide you with a subject to talk about... Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Actually, I'd just like to pick up on Aran's first post. The SR fora allow avatars, on the condition that they do not stretch the text box unreasonably. They average a good four times the amount of posts that these fora make in a busy season. There's nothing wrong with ava's, just as long as they are either moderated or are controlled to prevent certain... incidents. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Originally, there are SEVEN lit braziers. I can't remember how, but you have to make it so there are only SIX lit braziers. Mind you, I only remember this from Exile 3, not A3. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I've thankfully never heard it aloud. However, it generally has more force than "owned", in some cases, it's more of a shortenening of "power owned". -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

My grandfather is a paranoid schizophrenic. Extremely irrational and so deaf that you can't even try to reason with him. My brother is a highly dependant sociopath. He has extreme trouble even trying to empathsise with anyone, however towards one or two people at a time, he will become highly dependant on them, to an almost dangerous point. I used to become extremely angry at the drop of the hat, but it became... kind of boring. I decided to channel it elsewhere, for when I needed to not be bothered by the background and just focus on something. I am probably some sort of obsessive myself. I refuse to do anything, that I have actually decided to do, half-arsed. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Disorder | Rating Paranoid: Low Schizoid: Low Schizotypal: Moderate Antisocial: Low Borderline: Low Histrionic: Low Narcissistic: Low Avoidant: Low Dependent: Low Obsessive-Compulsive: Low ....... How dull. Either I really am a compulsive liar or that is just a stupid test. However, I'd bet that answering "no" to all the questions will put out all as "low". I think I should have gotten a very high rating on schizotypal, simply because I think and express my words in an extremely disjointed way. And also, I am either psychic or extremely lucky. Most likely the latter though. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

There are the three dragon lairs in the north-west of Valorim. The other side of the mountains from Footracer Province. If my memory serves me, there are two enterances, the northen one is Athron's lair, the southern is Khoth's domain. Both lead to Sulfras's cave. Fine. If you are to take that tack. The plot behind Akira was that children had been experimented on by the Japanese government after the third world war. These were designed to release certain potentials found within suitable subjects. Akira was the most powerful. He transcended into pure energy, but managed to destroy an entire city while doing so. All that was left of him was disected and left in the jars to be frozen and buried in an installation beneath the Olympic Stadium which is under construction. The three others were less skilled and afraid of the concequences of transcension. Tetsuo was another of high potential, unfortunately, the process made him far less than stable. As a result, with enormous power, but no control, his powers manifested themselves at random. Eventually, Tetsuo started to transcend, with what little control he had, gone. The three, combined with a spiritual manifestation of Akira, guided him into transcension. Once again, destroying the entire city. That's about it for anything that might seem complex. Everything else should be fairly easy to understand. Oh yes: “Peace is but a state of mind. A mental Nirvana. If it is to be achieved, you must know what you want, where you are going to and where you have come from. If you do not know your origin, destination and purpose, you can never find what you are looking for...” -- Jasper Lewis -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

The story did have a point. Admittedly, not one that anyone could really understand without it being explained to them, but there was a point nonetheless. Unfortunately, until I have had some sleep, I am by no means sane enough to explain it. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |
