Avernum's humanoids have apparently earned a place amongst the great and famous creatures of fantasy!

The Slithzerkai, Nephilim, and possibly others are listed with their peers at:

web page

Wikipedia is cool.

Not hear? When noise was everywhere! it tolled
Increasing like a bell. Names in my ears
Of all the lost adventurers, my peers -
How such a one was strong, and such was bold,
And such was fortunate, yet each of old
Lost, lost! one moment knelled the woe of years.

And guess who wrote the Slithzerikai entry. :)

The only other one I could see was the Vahnatai. But no-one has written a description for them yet. Not surprising really, a good description would probably be over twice the size of Aran's slith one.

I planned to do one about them, too, but I figured that most of the stuff is too controversial to just be put into an encyclopedia entry that is concerned with the game, not with fanfiction. And that, of course, the writing of such an article should be left to Drakefyre... :P

They forgot gremlins and goblins! And wolves! Well, I guess wolves wouldn't be considered a 'monster' to anyone but us, but then again, 'Goblinoids' made it from Dungeons and Dragons.

Anyway, Avernum is getting quite well-known in the world of RPGs. :)

As it should be. ;) But it's been that way a long time; just google for Slithzerikai or Nephilim. They come up in the oddest places (okay, the last is not an original term, but the first is).
