I had the same problems with large rebellion. i don't think i solved them (except to run far away). Regarding your drake Lord. Is there a graphic of him sitting in a chair? On second thought, which is the nice thing about doing this rather than getting actually scanned by aliens, I would take just the unknown box for the sure 100,000. But. Here I sit with some friendly English speaking aliens that have spent all this time programming a machine to predict human behavior, they have thousands of US dollars, they have captured me alive, and I am calmly talking with them? Drug induced hysteria. *this message sponsored by lucy, skye, and diamond* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I would recommend to anyone that doesn't see a huge problem with the recent US SC decision on eminent domain to read up on property rights, especially stuff about staking a claim, proving it up, and registering your claim. The argument that someone can make more money off your land than you currently are doing is translatable to a lamentable extent. If Microsoft claimed they could do a better job ruining (sp?) the country than the current type of government, should they too have the right to buy out the Feds? Obviously an extreme example, but still similar. *this message supplied by Mailliw Setag, your future is secure* [ Saturday, June 25, 2005 21:22: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Umm there is always web-enabling. Like when you install something and it needs to register itself back with the home servers. That would work for SW. If you swapped PCs or something, use the unregister option or somesuch device. The more technical you make something the more frustrating it can be when it is hacked in 2 minutes. I remember back in the way back days, you needed a piece of hardware (called a dongle) plugged into your com port in order to use a piece of software. that took 2 minutes to hack with a ohmmeter. software registration does work though, as long as it is enforced. *this message funded by the piracy police, you know we're napping, right?* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Actually it was the US Supreme Court, and Sandra O'Connor wrote a scathing minority opinion. Already there is talk in the House of a constitutional amendment. Better yet, ask your county gov't the best way to stop it on a county to county basis. Tell them to make it applicable only for public works projects or the like. But yeah. I almost went all sushi on some innocents when I heard that news. *this message sponsored by responsible urban growth : 0% is a good thing* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

The depressing thing is less than 8 months following the election, the very people that kept Bush in office no longer support him or his policies. Well done people. Well done. *this message sponsored by the 42% that still support bush despite the mounting evidence of his incompetence* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Now if we need to go there, I may have 1) lied in order to effectively beta-test the poll 2) played a RWG under one of my other personalities 3) played a RWG, finding it so horrible that mental blocks have been erected to never let it be recalled 4) cruised through the cool forum looking for chicks Sadly, I have posted twice in RWG now. I deserve all the derisive comments you can muster. Edit - sadly not for clarity or brevity *this message made effective by sleep deprivation, bringing dreams to life* [ Saturday, June 25, 2005 12:40: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Abort Abort I answered No to #1, so therefore can't answer question 2. The poll didn't respond well to verbal threats. 1 - No never. 2 - N/A 3 - Sheer ecstasy 4 - N/A *this message confirms I attempted to be polled* -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

The weight/AP thingy in the poll. I like the idea of being able to carry more junk around. But I should suffer for it by having it all shed from my inventory when I start combat, plus the pain of not being able to act until the 2nd round. Now that would be realistic. *this message is wavering on the screen like a mirage* -------------------- WWtNSD? Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Re: Micael's comment on DVD interactivity. That is old school. I forget the name of the game, but in the mid 80's there was a game on laser disc in the arcades. It was extremely expensive, maybe called dragon quest. Anyhow. I can totally see Avernum as a movie. It would suck. *this message sponsored by all the originals that hollywood has killed in the remake* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Without getting too specific, I have observed that the biggest difference between countries is the shape of their geopolitical boundary. Everything else is nuances. 1 - Humans act like they are in charge. 2 - A system of goods exchange has been set up. 3 - A system of arguing has been set up. 4 - A group is in power. 5 - A group wants to be in power. 6 - Leisure activities, level of refinement depends on perceived affluence. 7 - The principle of commons exists. *this message has been sponsored by the dish, spoon, and fiddle* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Hmmm. Been gone 24 hours and all gehenna breaks loose around here. 1 - This here is a hanging judge. You WILL be hung. Guy was drunk when he gave the sentence and the prisoner was grasping at straws. 2 - Take both. He used the scanner prior to your knowledge of the boxes and the money. Sucker. 3 - Two spelling mistakes, and the third mistake is using the word three instead of two. *this message has not been endorsed by me* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I love research. Hypothesis - it is cheaper to find, download, and use a keygen for a software product than it would be to buy the license in the first place. Methods - {CoC} Results - You are more likely to get AIDS, gohnorrea, crabs, or any of the zillions other nasty infections from the sites that host keygens than any other host on the net. Since those little buggers cost money to keep off my system, and many others find that truth to be the same... Conclusions - It is cheaper financially to send some jerk software developer $35 than it is to pay some jerk to remove viruses from your PC. Mac less of a problem because people hate Gates, not Jobs. *this research conducted under a grant from the EPA. really.* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I want one thing in all SW games forthcoming. The quests need to be pruned if/when they are broken. Kill a person that gives you a quest and the quest still shows up. That is annoying. Very annoying. Add a feature to remove quests from your list. Do it! Now! *this message supported by the ibws local #435 (brick wall soundproofers rule!)* -------------------- WWtNSD? Then you aren't ready for this quest. At some point later in the game there will be some information that will be helpful, and then you can complete it and get the boat. There are other boats. *this message furnished by the coffee council* -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

You don't own the boats, right? The person that gave you this job also asked you to look into something for her. Once that mission is complete, you will own a boat. Edit - too much like a TM 'help' You were sent to the mines (right?) to find out the health of some miners. So do it. You may need to explore more (ignore the mines for the present) in order to understand how to discover the health of the miners. And if you are still stuck and get to the miners. From pain comes pleasure. Blow something up. *this message sponsored by editors everywhere* [ Thursday, June 23, 2005 21:55: Message edited by: Jumpin' Salmon ] -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |
