Parker + Stone did a Schiavo episode of South Park last night. When Kenny (of course it was Kenny) finally died they read his Will. First item of business was that he did not want to be seen on national television as a vegetable. Ooops. Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Children need more Satanic messages of evil being delivered in the guise of "you're an underdog, save the world" type of books. Adults need to say no to children requesting $30 for a book. Any book. Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I managed to crack the top twenty, and have realized the pinnacle of my posting prowess. Time to go back to infrequent posts and more time spent working. Anyone out there a GIS expert proficient in ArcView 3.3? There's got to be a simpler way of doing what I'm doing. Edit - No counting ability. 22nd, must try harder this month.. Ash - You mentioned your disgust for the media frenzy over this "case" and just now your expectation of guilt. I would humbly suggest that the media itself is responsible for that expectation. I have seen very little in the way of sympathetic MJ stories, not that I pay any attention to it. Its the same thing as the Dupres fellow and the grim picture that the media distributes. Give us (the public) one side of the story that allows us to feel better about ourselves as the result of one persons misfortune. When I think about all the kidnap or missing person stories, the picture is rarely of the person drunk in a bar, its some high school portrait or such. Luckily, things like this are limited to media broadcast to distant areas. The folks that are actually involved in the events have a better idea of what happened. In the end though, I regularly find myself not really caring about the news. Edit - Removed any hint of implications [ Tuesday, June 14, 2005 22:22: Message edited by: Smoked Salmon ] Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I've heard from various sources that it is possible to learn if a person is lying or telling the truth based solely on observing the face (ie. no sounds, just the picture). Likewise, the style a person affects does indeed offer some insight into the personality. That is generally why people dress in certain ways or adopt certain postures. When I first saw the Despres picture I thought "loner that is not trying to fit in with society." And no matter what the character of a person affecting that look, if I met them by surprise I would immediately be looking at escape paths and ways to defend myself. I see that affected look as antagonistic and aggressive. Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

If you still choose to ignore the decision made by the judge and jury, make an economic decision that reflects your disapproval of MJ. Complaining about the results of a trial that you didn't participate in does a disservice to the system in place, and casts doubt on the trustworthiness of the judicial system. I may be wrong, but I think that if the judge had seen something that made the "not guilty" jury verdict to be wrong (ie. they ignored orders or evidence) then he/she could have overturned the verdict immediately. Therefore, since the judge didn't complain, who am I to complain? I'll just keep on not buying his stuff. And BTW, for the MJ fans out there, I heard that some box set he put out recently only sold like 50,000 copies. That means it has an inherent rareity which a person might be able to capitalize upon... Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I can think of several explanations for this one, but they would be all wrong. The background story is GONE. Edit - A picture that got away, I should have found a more stable source. That image, to me, calls to mind an unstable person capable (not necessarily culpable) of great bodily harm. And in this particular case it may prove to be the correct impression. I'm sure there are other pictures out there (for instance a mushroom cloud) that have a similar impact to people. That is what I was asking about. If this isn't a topic, then I apologise and would expect a mod to excise it from the record. Otherwise, its just a crazy picture with an equally crazy story behind it. I know we all come across pictures from time to time that illustrate a concept far more eloquently than can be put in words. I saw this pictures the other day and after reading the accompanying article realized just how apt the picture was in this case. So I present it to you, sans description, in the sincere belief that even the most innocent among us will instinctively know the story behind the face. If it happens that you can't imagine the real story, or want the verification, follow this link. Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

When I first played APF I came across something that was the catalyst for joining these boards. I got to the caves containing the perfect spirit, and had a heluva time destroying the machinery. And I was so proud when I finished that I completely forgot about that unpowered portal over on the western wall. So I tried to walk back out the cave entrance. What a disaster. I'm still not sure what happens, but BoA definitely did not like me leaving in that direction. Even worse was when I used the character editor to leave town. Yikes. I don't remember the details, except the general freakiness of the episode, but it did prompt me to come here for help. :) -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Further testing shows that it will Not exceed the sdf ranges. No way to exceed 255 or go negative. :) Edit - Explanation inc_flag (x,y,355) produces a SDF value of 255 inc_flag (x,y,-355) produces a SDF value of 0 [ Thursday, June 09, 2005 22:50: Message edited by: Smoked Salmon ] -------------------- WWtNSD? Ephesos used the following in Druids of Krell in order to gather the approval rating for Oakleaf. inc_flag (x,y,inc_value); so inc_flag(2,15,2); would increment flag 2,15 by 2 points. I assume you could use negative values as well. Edit - This works perfectly. This code... Produced this text "Start 0 then 15 then 5" Nice... Such an ambitious fellow you are! Since I've now registered on the L, I guess I can do something for you. Not sure about the 10 spot, since I feel it is necessary to leave breathing room for when I finally submit a scenario. ROFLMAO I'll leave room under your score for whatever I deserve. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

1. The bat is working now, maybe I was doing somehting wrong before. 2. The wyvern's lair after returning the bat, you swap some terrain to allow passage to the reward. You need to swap another terrain as well since the totems (or whatever it is) also block passage. Also, it is possible to get trapped in the wyverns lair. You might consider adding a second mobile mirror to the left side of the map in case the other one is pushed incorrectly. 3. The ogre quest was not removed when I told Janice I had rescued the mine workers. 4. I am stuck in the vahnati castle area now because my boat is gone. I took the ferry across a second time, and there is no way to get back to the other side of the river. I guess that is all I have for the time being. Edit - 5. Boat travel in Alexandria is odd, at best. Recommend putting town entrances immediately adjacent to waterways when travelling east or west. This will put the boat on land, but will allow it to move directly back into water. 6. Moving from central Alexandria to west Alexandria the first time I was placed on the west side of west alexandria. Yeah, it sounds like you want me to stop giving advice to people stuck in the scenario. No sweat, I'll keep my mouth shut. I was trying to not give too much away when I described the situation in the mines, but whatever. I did just remember though that the reward for finding the bat-toy is unavailable due to terrain problems. Also the toy doesn't work as advertised, but I wasn't sure if that was the design. Sorry to have bothered you, I was merely trying to be helpful. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |
