After designing a scenario myself, I've noticed that some people have found incredibly bizarre bugs. Some are minor, some debilitating, and some are just plain funny. Examples of the last group:

quote:
I had no free inventory slots, but before closing the 'get' window I stupidly picked up the "PLUMS" that were in my weapon hand. I couldn't put them down anywhere, least of all in my weapon hand, so I had to C-A-Del and try again. My pants had turned into another type of fruit. No snickering please.
quote:
My singleton just kept walking north. Walking and walking. Finally he go trapped in the solid stone wall (or so I imagine) and BoA was so upset it cried.
quote:
no matter how many times I hit the freaking slug, I never get any earrings. HELP!
The first two are from my scenario, the third's from A Large Rebellion. Anybody else seen any strange/funny/downright evil bugs?

(I thought it'd be kind to remove names on the quotes)

I got this as well. It's no laughing matter, whenever my singleton tried go after Korbis, he just kept walking North, he then went on through the stone wall & the screen went blank. Blades of Avernum Froze. I have tried several times & it still doesn't work. Also, I recevied the message of Oakleaf asking for the artifacts, & then "Getting angry" before I had even got to the Sanctum & spoken with him. Other than those 2 bugs, the game was pretty good.

A fix for this bug has been posted in this thread.

I was trying to lend a humorous hand when I sculpted those bug messages. There is nothing more frustrating than a bug when a fellow knows nothing of scripting, but as I get more adept I hope I can be informative with new scenarios.

Also, at the time I figured it was some cool druiding thing my party was attempting in order to distract the Klorits character. Who knows what the druid can do?

I wasn't trying to make fun of anyone's problems, just trying to start a humorous thread.

I acknowledge that those bugs were unusual and frustrating, but they still seem kind of funny to me. (It'd be an interesting combat trick to turn the party's weapons into fruit, you've got to admit)

There just seems to be some problem translating between Mac and Windows scenario writers...

The funniest bug I had is when making a call that killed your party in "The Maze". It made my characters lie down as if they were dead, yet they were still alive. This even happened in combat. I left teh scenario and everything - and my party were still lying along the ground. How they walked was beyond me!

Don't bother. You just set their type of death to 0.

Is that death by exhaustion or death by boredom?

I encountered several times a bug in Bahssikava such that the winged demons would begin to fly and simply not stop; I had to restart my computer to escape.

Ha ha, now that's a funny bug!

Wait, I don't get it.

(Seriously, though, yes, I know that Fly-Retreat is bugged still. I do not know where the "not stopping" bug comes from, though, and I've never been able to reproduce it.)

When I first played APF I came across something that was the catalyst for joining these boards. I got to the caves containing the perfect spirit, and had a heluva time destroying the machinery. And I was so proud when I finished that I completely forgot about that unpowered portal over on the western wall. So I tried to walk back out the cave entrance. What a disaster. I'm still not sure what happens, but BoA definitely did not like me leaving in that direction. Even worse was when I used the character editor to leave town. Yikes. I don't remember the details, except the general freakiness of the episode, but it did prompt me to come here for help.

Yeah, nobody's ever really figured out why the Lost City does that. On Macs it usually just takes a really long time for the town to load, but on Windows it can often crash the machine outright. We're all a little nervous about it.

There is a funny clone-bug that occurs in Mad Ambition and Babysitting. In MA you can copy Anthony, in Babysitting the little sister (that might meanwhile be fixed though).

In MA it works like this: After Malachai's death you find Anthony, and he joins your party. If you go outside of Fort Ivalice (e.g. to regain SPs) and revisit the place where you met Anthony previously - there is another Anthony waiting for you! And he'll join your party too if you talked to him.
Since Anthony is not a fighting character it makes no difference for the story. Next time I'll try to clone three Anthonys :)

Whoops, must have overlooked that one. There was a bug in a beta version where Malachai self-replicated all over the place too.

In Druids of Krell if you move off to the side instead of just hitting the wait button while distracting the dragon, when the dragon comes down again, he attacks an empty space instead of your party. :P

Druids of Krell has also some sort of "down-with-capitalists"-bug: I had over 4000 gold when I left Relias and thought to buy some spells in Fort Ouranil. I went to the wizard - but could not pay anymore: My account of coins was suddenly set to zero.

:D Maybe they have a special tax to maintain environmental protection and the fancy landscape-gardening.

Hm... wish I knew what the money bug was, but nothing in Fort Ouranil should do anything to your money (aside from shops). I don't think I can help you there.

When you're distracting the dragon, that second line of fire isn't supposed to home in on you, just streak down the center of the platforms. Not a bug.

I wasn't talking about the second line of fire, I was talking about when the dragon actually lands, right before you're rescued.

Perhaps Draky or Erasorhead?
Or were you introducing a new troll to the boards?

Na, Ice Drake has posted here and there. He's not a troll, just a kid, and the “friend” excuse never works.

I didn't actually see the post but I assumed it was bad considering the recent pictures etc.

Anyone care to enlighten me as to what it was?

Hi,
I found an interesting bug in the "A Large Rebellion Win" scenario that thought someone would like to see. I've posted a screen capture shot at my web site, click on the following link:
