It has just been vouchsafed to me that Alorael is ine of those members who end their name in a Roman numeral. He can join the ranks of Feran IX, Djur X and others whose names I forget in my steadfast march into senile decay. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Alorael does not get a special title because he is so very, very special that no special title could do him justice. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Posts: 387 | Registered: Tuesday, March 1 2005 08:00 |

It is very easy. Drake is James, and James is seven. He will be eight in December. Ryan is clearly not James, or he would not be James, but Ryan. Now Drake may also be Ryan, but that does not make Ryan James, as for instance in the case of the Creator. See, it's very simple, and if you can't understand that, you should go and study something simple like xenobiology. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Hey Fenwik! *is not over 50... not for .. oh.. months!* It sounds as though you are dealing with things in a very pragmatic and sensible way. I've found Avernum very immersive, also Myst and its sequels (thogh they can be frustrating) and currently get eaten by Ultima Online and the roleplaying community on Europa shard. I don't know what the Oceania shard is like, apart from its reputation for being sparsely populated. Nice to meet you! It really does help to discard your sanity in the bucket provide for the purpose: that's the one, right by the door there... Enjoy the interesting people, ignore the annoying ones, and don't believe what everybody tells you about themselves! -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! I have one tamer char who is rarely played! Mains currently are a paladin swords who is totally RP, a mage/tailor who is also predominantly RP: for action I have a bushy macer. It's the rp that's keeping me there. Some really imaginative and generous players, as well as a few idiots who are best avoided. some current fiction. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Hugnam, dear, your post at the top of this topic indicates that you may have the slightest inclination to spamming. While we appreciate prolific posters who add originality and sparkle to our forum, we try to discourage spam, gently at first, but then with increasing firmness until finally the boys are allowed to work the perpetrator over with extreme violence. I hope it never reaches that stage. *smiles sweetly* -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! If there were a lot more public knowledge about autism/Asperger's, it might make the lives of people who fall into that spectrum a lot easier. We make allowances for people who have obvious physical problems, such as mobility or obvious sensory difficulties, but such conditions as Asperger's are invisible, and thus often unacknowledged. There really is a different set of rules in dealing with people on this spectrum: punishment is pretty much pointless, excitement and surprises are often painful to them, and the world can be a difficult and confusing place. On the other hand, the same quirks that make life hard can allow them to see things in a way that can allow them to reach solutions that are invisible to others. Understanding that syndrome, and describing it, can put a harmful label on people with Asperger's but on the other hand it can help to understand why peole behave the way they do, and predict that they will react in unusual ways sometimes to stimuli that would be unproblematic for other people. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Our bum moved away some time ago into a nice little hut in the woods. We take his mail round on Saturdays. The nice man was very interested to know all this, and wrote it all down on his clipboard. Then he asked if we would be interested in housing a new one. -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! The time may have come, dear Student, to upend your mouse tenderly, remove its ball, and clean it carefully. Then reach into the open breach most cautiously with your forefinger and gently scratch away the accumulated gunge from its rollers. Withdraw the finger, approach your pursed lips, and blow softly into the orifice. Replace the pristine ball, drop back the retainer and screw it back with a firm but sensitive toch till it locks home. Now place the mouse back on its mat, and caress its dorsal surface a couple of times to reassure it. Your mouse will feel a new man now, and you will enjoy a reinvigourated relationship with it. Happy clicking! -------------------- I am a pale shadow of the previous self. quote: Deep down, you know you should have voted for Alcritas! Posts: 387 | Registered: Tuesday, March 1 2005 08:00 |
