I got the wierd talent of having a big resistance to marijuana smoke. It only seems to make my eyes go bloodshot-thats all. I'm very good at stalking up and catching flies when they annoy me. What is so fantastic about talent? I've been gifted with a typical human shape, outfitted in the regular fashion, no extra accessories, limited display of common sense, and no discernable talent. I have a mild form called "Asperger's syndrome". I can get along with normal people but I appear as slightly or very odd. Asperger's is a pretty heavily overdiagnosed condition that can be used to refer to a whole range of different behaviours that some psychologist judges as being pathological. Now, I don't want to come across as sounding like some kind of raving Thomas Szasz fanboy, but he makes a fair point when he says that mental illness can't be used as an excuse to escape responsibility for one's actions; regardless of the causes of a behaviour, it still affects others in the same way. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Interesting. I have Asperger's as well. While it may be convenient to categorize people, either positively or negatively, it also serves to dehumanize them. ADoS is himself, and no one else is like him. And I forgive him for living in Reveah, as he probably didn't make that choice. So I understood Thuryl's comment to mean that there is a societal rush to place people in categories which, while making things nice and tidy, doesn't actually serve to make that individuals life any better.
