quote:The solution would have required that the palestinians also leave the Israelis alone. The palestinians also have the same attitude towards the land- They want all of it. Putting them on "marginal land" has been tried and it didn't work. Multiple wars have been fought with the expressed purpose being to drive the Israelis totally out of Israel. Yes the Israelis won but they were left with a seemingly insolvable situation, due to the pressures of a civilized world they can not assimilate, move, or otherwise deal with the issue of the palestinians. In medieval times or in biblical times genocide would have been acceptable but obviously that is not possible now. They cannot assimilate the palestinians into their own culture, and they can not kick them all out as no other country will accept palestinian refugees. Both sides have done wrong and neither can end the conflict. This issue always reminds me of the American Indian conflicts. But in that case the U.S. did not have a lot of more powerful countries breathing down its neck to make sure that it played fair. And guess what- The "natives" got relagated to "marginal land". It sucked. Posts: 564 | Registered: Wednesday, April 14 2004 07:00 |

When I was a senior in HS school we lost our homecoming rally because we were too rowdy and booed the freshmen :D I believe that one of the seven or eight rallies could actually be called a success. On spirit week there was Pajama day- but that day anybody that showed up in PJs got sent home because they were violating school code. So- managment tends to suck, the world of highschool is small, but hey- try to have fun and to get into the college that you want to go to. That really seemed like the only important part of my senior experience. Yeah I know I went still farther off topic- Oh Well Posts: 564 | Registered: Wednesday, April 14 2004 07:00 |

Nah you can get there from Silvar but thats a minor point. You can not get there from the Empire dock that is in what used to be Giant lands so there is no need to go up there for this mission. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." Yeah which north would be helpful- If you are trying to get to the north of Erikas tower, or north into Khoths plains, or north past the Front Lines it is not possible. North of Blosk and east of Bargha is possible by boat. You don't need a pass for this one but you better have a party that can take on a full sized empire force. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." Whats with the double post explanation of your frustration? Couldn't you say it once in the same post? On a tangent from this topic, Do GIFTR appear anywhere else in scenarios or anything? It took a very long time because sometimes the antimagic on her lasted for a long periond of time. And then when I made a mistake and let her heal herself it took even longer. Yes! Somebody else asking this question. And not only someone else but FBM of all people! Congratulations- You can remember a topic that is two weeks old. Actually that was an interesting topic but oh well. And for reference there is not Xian Living Tool in the Geneforge Series yet. If BoG comes out then I'm sure that there will be though. Heh maybe even some of the "lies" in that thread will come true. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." The evidence is in the castle in the middle of the lake where you have to kill Limoncelli.(The lake to the north east of Blosk and Fort Saffron. In the second level in the far North East there is a section with a Naga. The Naga guards a secret passage that leads to a chest with the evidence. Inside the secret passage there is another secret passage that allows you to circumnavigate the pitfall in the first one. I asked the question about the group thing in scenarios a while ago too and I still wish it was possible. But no two experienced editors have simaler enough styles to do a seemless work I suppose, much less three four or five. What might work could be a never ending scenario that could be like that story game or something. Obviously some parts would be lame and few parts would be epic but it could even work like some of the lamentable RPs that occur ever so often. Not that this idea is plausible, but speculation is interesting. The porting thing does not have to be done by the author but unless the author is not around then I suppose that the wisest course is too not mess with the scenario. To say that you can do so much more with BoE is rather doubtful. I am under the impression that more can be done with BoA. But the purchase of BoE is probably the better choice at the time. The only reason that I went the other way was that the disks have to be sent to you instead of simply an evelope with the Reg code. Slim basis for decision I know but hey! Are there any people that are actually able to trace their ancestry back to Israel? They could truly claim to be Jewish in ethnicity. Indeed Judaism cannot be merely a creed because there are people who consider themselves Jews but are athiests or Christians. In that case it really seems more like a culture. I would have to agree with Djur that you are the one choosing the connections there though. I can consider being white, black, asian, or whatever to be a genetic disability, or I can draw connections between being male and being stupid but it does not mean that my connections are valid. I definitly agree that scientific research that even hints at any disadvantages of being a different race/ethnicity/sex is rather difficult to be happy with. Being American would be another good example here. There is nothing genetic about it. My family has been here since the 16th century but I am no more American than many second generation folks. But are all the immigrants who come up say from Mexico and then do not learn English for their entire lives American? Is there something besides living in the U.S.A. or Canada that makes you a typical American. Opinions vary on this. I don't know about the immigration problems of other countries or really other states than California but I imagine that it is a controversy elsewhere as well. (Sorry about using the word "American" as exclusivly for the average resident of the USA but I don't know what other word to use.) Posts: 564 | Registered: Wednesday, April 14 2004 07:00 |

Not crude that way you, you, you,... ah shoot this does not work. Crude as in rough hewn, ungainly, as in written in elementary school for whatever. Heh THIS is not mine but it is one of my favorite poems. HA’ we lost the goodliest fere o’ all For the priests and the gallows tree? Aye lover he was of brawny men, O’ ships and the open sea. When they came wi’ a host to take Our Man 5 His smile was good to see, “First let these go!” quo’ our Goodly Fere, “Or I’ll see ye damned,” says he. Aye he sent us out through the crossed high spears And the scorn of his laugh rang free, 10 “Why took ye not me when I walked about Alone in the town?” says he. Oh we drank his “Hale” in the good red wine When we last made company. No capon priest was the Goodly Fere, 15 But a man o’ men was he. I ha’ seen him drive a hundred men Wi’ a bundle o’ cords swung free, That they took the high and holy house For their pawn and treasury. 20 They’ll no’ get him a’ in a book, I think, Though they write it cunningly; No mouse of the scrolls was the Goodly Fere But aye loved the open sea. If they think they ha’ snared our Goodly Fere 25 They are fools to the last degree. “I’ll go to the feast,” quo’ our Goodly Fere, “Though I go to the gallows tree.” “Ye ha’ seen me heal the lame and blind, And wake the dead,” says he. 30 “Ye shall see one thing to master all: ’Tis how a brave man dies on the tree.” A son of God was the Goodly Fere That bade us his brothers be. I ha’ seen him cow a thousand men. 35 I have seen him upon the tree. He cried no cry when they drave the nails And the blood gushed hot and free. The hounds of the crimson sky gave tongue, But never a cry cried he. 40 I ha’ seen him cow a thousand men On the hills o’ Galilee. They whined as he walked out calm between, Wi’ his eyes like the gray o’ the sea. Like the sea that brooks no voyaging, 45 With the winds unleashed and free, Like the sea that he cowed at Genseret Wi’ twey words spoke suddently. A master of men was the Goodly Fere, A mate of the wind and sea. 50 If they think they ha’ slain our Goodly Fere They are fools eternally. I ha’ seen him eat o’ the honey-comb Sin’ they nailed him to the tree. [ Wednesday, October 13, 2004 16:29: Message edited by: m's devotee ] Posts: 564 | Registered: Wednesday, April 14 2004 07:00 |
