quote:Problem- There is rolling motion but at the same time it is actually skidding due to rotational inertia. Until enough rotational momentum has accumulated due to the kinetic friction the rotational velocity(omega) will increase while translational velocity(v) will decrease At impulse F(delta)t = (delta)(Mv) therefore V(initial)= F(delta)t/m the graph is obvious- it goes up sharply for the accelleration/contact time- gradually decreases as Energy is transfered to rotation from translation. Once V = w(omega)R it will stay flat/no acelleration (assuming no air resistance or irregularities) and so it can't have a "d" without a time limit Oh rotational I of a sphere is 2/5 MR^2 The torque due to the cue * contact time t is equal to the change in the product of Inertia * rotational velocity. T(delta)t = (delta)(Iw) The torque is RF/5 (its one fifth R above the center) by r x F = T where r = R/5 so Iw = RF(delta)t/5 = 2wMR^2/5 so initial angular velocity is w = (F(delta)t)/(2MR) So I think that I have the initial angular velocity and the initial translational velocity but how they change- thats whats getting me. Only that they stop changing when V = wR- Sorry I didn't say thanks for your long explanation up there. It got me this far...... and I think that I see something now, so tomorrow.. IC: Before Darixen could respond, a young man that had been tagging along interjected in a shrill voice, "No where important- Just to an signing session for his(pointing to Darixen) book". The speaker was an admirer of Phiz (being easily impressed) and was travelling under the pseudonym Mahl Urkhardt. Realizing the shrillness of his voice he attempted to gruffen it as he said, "Of course if you want to read the silly book... you might come along." Mahl recieved weird looks from the rest of the group at his lies and began to wish that he had kept his silence. In an attempt to regain what little chance for respect he had Mahl whispered to the newcomer, "But he's also going to do a demonstration on the what the book talks about". Feeling slightly better he fell back to the rear of the group where he had formerly been. As Mahl was doing this he heard rather strange russles in the undergrowth on either side. A soft hiss told him that some reptile was causing it. Still suffering from his lack of self esteem he made himself investigate, and pushed his way through the dense ground cover and tall bushes to left of the path. Disapearing from the sight of the group, he came face to face with the largest snake he had ever seen. Mahl stood paralyzed by fright, only hoping that maybe someone had noticed his departure... Well in absence of specifics I guess that I can waste my time and put in some random info. E1 and E2- Motrax is in the upper North East corner of Exile north of Formello, Athron is in the far west-north of the honeycomb west of Mertis, past an impassible barrier(in E1 but passable in E2) but can be reached from the river/lake south of Cotra. Koth is north of Erikas tower and east of Grah Hoths tower- can not be reached in E2 but he is accessible by river. When you are on the river flowing out of the giants lake towards Erika's tower, the river turns a corner. At this point there should be a swampy outcropping from the wall. Land on it and look for secret passages(Its not a huge stretch of wall so this should be easy). Explore around here and you will find Koth. Sulfras is in the tunnels west of Fort Remote. Go through them to the north and once you reach the northern outdoor section stay to the west while you still proceed north- you should be able to find Sulfras. E3- There are only 3 dragons in this one and they all live together. They live in the far north-west of Valorim in a little valley/canyon into the mountain wall, and I can't describe their location much better than that. Ok this is going to sound pathetic- I'm tutoring this guy for a freshman physics course and he just brought me this problem for help.- I told him I would work on it but I'm getting stumped and I hate to go to faculty for something that I should totally know how to do. SO...... Since I believe that the average active Spiderwebber is rather intelligent I decided to post it here. A uniform pool ball of radius R and mass M is motionless on a flat surface. You hit it horizontally with a cue, with a large force F for a short time, (delta)t, with the point of impact being 6R/5 above the table. Sketch the subsequent motion of the ball with a graph on the y-axis and t on the x-axis (not hard). Give the (t,v) coordinates for any discontinuities or other critical points in the graph. You may use the variables F, (delta)t, M, R, g, u(mu)static, and u(mu)kinetic (n.b. v is the velocity of the center of mass). Ok..... Posts: 564 | Registered: Wednesday, April 14 2004 07:00 |

Thats why I dislike formal English studies You can work for hours on a paper and do your very best and then the teacher hates it, so the next paper you don't even care and spend maybe 45 minutes to write a 6 page paper (which obviously can't be very good) and get an A. What the heck? It's not that I'm bad in English but the subjectivity of it just makes me mad. So... sciences for me. Heh good thing that I kinda had my choice, those APs got me out of all English and writing requirements- so I could pick which ones I wanted to do- if any. Eh- It really is irritating when athiests do that but I don't believe that ADoS is guilty- Why would Rowen be off to college at this time of year- Or maybe vacation is majorly offset but I don't think so. Perhaps he has gone on a quest to find the missing munchkins of light and to restore them to their proper place. Good luck Rowen Hmmm.. Which reminds me of a game- Anybody played Munchkins? Of course you will, which is why you will need to play this scenario at least twice- perhaps more. You will also miss out on stuff if you only play the Empire side- either way you really should play it multiple times to get the most out of it. Ice dragon- I don't know which way gets more experience- but if you kill it you can loot its small trove. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." Yeah the second one is the one that I've seen before- I tried it but didn't really work through it at all since I really don't need to run the E series on this computer. Thanks for finding it again though if somebody else has this problem it could be useful. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." About the legal that was just a shot in the dark- But the character images are harder to alter than the memory data, to the best of my knowledge. On PC there is just one common graphic for all the shapers SO if you want to glow then it probably is somewhere else. You can however just change yourself into a rat or something that is rat when looking one way and a fyora when looking the other. Or almost any other image. But the glowing is something else because its not in with the images. Actually there is only one color of guardian and shaper and all that in the images so if you look and see what gets altered when you alter the color you might be able to find the glowing stuff around there too. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." Eh the lyceum tends to be a slower board in some respects because people tend to only discuss more well serious and game related stuff. Take a look at the Beta Call For Canopy topic in the BoA forum- there are tons of people that are willing to test for you. Indeed most of them are new but the interest is there- I would say go for it and don't talk about it too much. ;) -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." Why? Does it have to die? I have not given my opinion yet though so here we go... Cyber culture seems to me to have two aspects. Their are huge areas with many people that it is difficult to gain a reputation in even if you try. These places are where it is very easy to find faceless weirdos. Then there are smaller communities like this one- here, it seems to be more close knit, so that if people are really irritating they really will be disliked- not just a temporary feeling that is soon forgotten. In the same way it seems that real friendships can be made here- People can concieve very real images of who they are talking too and what they would probably be like in "real" life. The safety that the internet provides makes it easier to talk about more personal issues because if things go to far it is always possible to leave. One thing that is kinda weird though is that even though this is a community we still love to attack each other and tear each others arguments and viewpoints into pieces. Topics like this tend to die but the controversial topics like the debate ones only die when they get locked. My attempts at "semi-intelligent" topics seem to have failed too (no these don't include the Vahnatai one that was critiqued earlier) but then again what keeps this board interesting is the constant flux of ideas and topics that we can debate over and destroy each others arguments over. Second question. If you walk along the outside western wall in the fort you are able to go to the very end and turn to the west. Now if you stay against the wall to the south you won't go out of the town. Walk along this wall and their should be a secret passage into the hill terrain. Here are the rats. -------------------- "Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are false'." I doubt that there are many Australian Secret Projects out there, and fewer failed ones- well unless we all are the result of some Australian experiment, but I truly hope that that is not the case, as it would lower my opinion of them. Heh-Heh FBM I suppose that it is good your having fun- Is this going to make you want to become a politician? That might be weird to have too many of those on these boards. I'll try it again and give you the message that it says.
