Just to tell you-
I don't know if you are aware.
But all the people recently- and it may just be me but there seems to have been many- who picked fights with the mods, oldies, or called TM, Rodger were banned.

Once more Mahl woke from dreams of terror. It was now light out and the visage that had caused to faint was no where to be seen. The silly troll (Mugwump) apparently had not even seen him.

Mahl started walking back to group, believing that if anything had happened it should be over by now. Mahl picked up a piece of wood just in case however. He ran into Fritti on his way back and asked him why he was away from camp. The elf told him that he had heard some sounds from this way and had decided to investigate. Mahl blushed wishing that he had such a good reason to be away from camp. When Fritti asked him why he was away Mahl muttered something about having to take a dump.

Mahl walked faster than Fritti did and was well and seperated himself from the elf. He did not like others company when he felt so shamed. Fainted! He had fainted! He had to prove himself some how. If only he had that sword that he saw the troll carrying. Then an idea came to him- why not check the camp to see if everyone was there and if they were still alive, he could go check out the dragon cave. Arriving at the fringes of camp he observed that the two main warriors of the group were recuperating from some incredible fight. Mahl decided that they must have killed the dragon. Walking around the camp in the direction of the previous nights battle Mahl picked his way over to the cave and gingerly climbed into the darkness. Regretting that he had not a lamp or any other means to procure light Mahl stumbled along. As he made his way he became aware of a faint reddish light in the direction that he was walking. Hastening his pace he soon arrived at what seemed to be a tunnel made of fire. Mahl, who was still clutching his "club" immediatly had the bright idea of lighting it on fire as a means of exploring the cave. He did so, with some difficulty, and began to explore the cave. He soon came upon the dead dragon and also what appeared to be the parts of a mechanical demon of some sort. Curious Mahl examined the metal skull of the thing.

Nope he meant me. Shucks that means that my present relationship is doomed......
Unless someone gets a lot uglier.

Hmmm.. I don't think that I have any heart condition yet though- should I go and see a doctor?

Edit: Yeah that means I only got 1 wrong, I can live my life( no matter how short) in peace now.

Could someone explain # 5 to me though?

Eh- 17 and 5 wrong- Isn't the barrier passage in E1 as well?
And 5, isn't that like saying that you have won BoE if you beat one scenario, with E1+2 you don't get the winning scene unless you complete all three conditions of victory, right?

Mahl moaned in his sleep troubled by the dark dreams that the serpent venom had given him. Woken by the shouts of his fellow adventurers during the attack he dragged himself to his feet, but what he saw made him wish that he had stayed with his hallucinations. The camp was in a state of total disorder with none of the more powerful adventurers in sight anymore. A lare comotion was happening in the direction of the dragon cave so Mahl wondered if they had started the fight with the dragon. But then he saw the curved thing that the weird fire mage carried flash into the campsite and then turn around. Why in the world would someone fight a dragon with fire?
He was about ready to lie back down when Darixen was flung into the firelight. His face was severly bruised and he struggled to get up. Mahl only looked at him for a second before he turned the other way. The sounds of struggle were much closer now and as Mahl started running he heard a familiar giggle. A couple of the other less powerful adventures gave screams of fright and Mahl doubled his speed- which wasn't very grand since he was still sick. He did make it into the forest however and managed to make it about a hundred yards before something stopped him. The something was an amazing sword that was halfway in the light. Mahl stooped to look at it when he saw movement at the other end. A pair of fierce red eyes looked into his and then a fire trolls cruel features became apparent. Mahl, being the coward that he was fainted on the spot.

As stated previously-
Karma is pointless because of all the multiple acount personas on this board- anyone with two or three acounts can make it extremly difficult to get higher than a two star karma-

Perhaps I should just turn off my karma and be like Imban- Did you get a lot of bad ratings or something?

Whats ur favorte Scenario? in Blades of Avernum

Why would people even get the game just for those scenarios? Compared to X1-3 they suck and at least for BoE there are much better scenario's out there that are really the only point in buying it. In BoA the scenarios are improving and are better but not by an incredible amount yet, so the real reason for me registering that was that it was an investment in the chances of good scenarios- besides giving me a way to attempt to create scenarios if I ever decided to get "serious" about the game.

How many people here have actually tried it? It does suck- so much so that it was more than a waste of the 2 hours that it took to play the demo, it was at all times a horrible mistake. Any replies to the person asking questions can be viewed as spam i am sure- because they just lead to more frustation

No you do start to visibly glow- slightly at least. Or at least in GF1 you do and I remember it from GF2 as well. So did you figure out a way to do this? I guess that it might be amuzing to go through the game as a glowing fyora, a drakon or the like.

Hmmmm... Don't you like women with facial hair? - Besides even though impersonating hot chicks and seducing your friends might be fun..... What's better is impersonating ugly ones and seeing who's really desperate-

I do enjoy ADoS's seemingly random costumes though-
For the orange top hat- Is that the only change in your attire or do you use special clothes or something too?

And what are the female attributes of Vahnatai that Kel couldn't imitate? There is no real description of gender differences in the non-human races.

Halloween for me? Most likely I would dress as a really fat old man who could terrorize all the children (and yes that would require a costume)

For reference, Mahl couldn't have heard the conversation taking place between Cavern Knight and Mug- he wasn't even close to the cave, but rather, he was in Darixen's arms. Just for clarification.
Sorry to quibble but he had been put down- and there was a brief time lapse- if it actually matter then change that but otherwise how it was works.....

Nope- not at all-
One hint though since you lose if your people die- save often but don't get trapped- and the chest is still there but as I don't exactly have the game memorized I can't tell you where exactly. Sorry-

Well I was pretty confident about my initial angular velocity(w) and my initial translational velocity(v) that I had gotten as shown above.

v(initial) = F(delta)t/m

and

w(initial) = [F(delta)t]/(2MR)

And after (delta)t contact was over there was only one force on the ball, friction. This force is entirely tangenital to the ball and thus creates torque without actually taking energy from the system of the ball(ie. as w increases v decreases, they can't both decrease)

This torque(T) is given by

T = u(kinetic)Mg x R ( The coefficient of kinetic friction times the normal force cross the perpendicular distance, which is R as the force is tangenital)

This torque of course is equal to the inertia times alpha(a)
T = Ia
and I = (2MR^2)/5
so

a = [5u(kinetic)Mg]/(2MR^2) M will then cancel out

so as the velocity function for constant a is

w = w(initial) + a(angular)t

w at time t can be discovered by

w = [F(delta)t] + [5gu(kinetic)t]/(2R)

The translational velocity will be decreased by the same force and:

F = Ma(translational)

also

F = u(kinetic)Mg

so

a = u(kinetic)g

the standard form equation for v is:

v = v(initial) + a(translational)t

so v is determined by

v = F(delta)t/m - u(kinetic)gt

so.....

v = wR when:

F(delta)t/m - u(kinetic) = F(delta)tR/(2mR) 5/2 * gR/Ru(kinetic)t

all the Rs conveniently cancel out so
solving for this t:

t = F(delta)t/(7mu(kinetic)g)

and to get the v coordinate on the graph we plug this value for t into the v equation getting:

v = 6F(delta)t/(7m)

That was a silly problem looking over it- like *i says- its a very simple application of torques and forces that when broken down shouldn't be that hard- its just the breaking down part.

Thanks again for the help- and I hope that you stay interested in PHYSICS!

:D

( Heh- it might be interesting to solve it with energy now and see if I get the same answer- if I had that much energy)

Mahl's vision was blured and everything seemed to be moving in slow motion- Some one had picked him up it seemed and was running around with him. Why would they do that. Though Mahl's sight did not let him distinguish many objects he was able to make out more snakes in front. Starting to struggle franticly to get away from whoever was carrying him towards the snakes, he only succeeded in getting knocked on the head, and darkness fell in his world.

Later he woke up in what seemed to be a world of firy pain. Mahl still could not see, but his entire body was burning. He seemed to be lieing down so at least he was not being carried anymore. Close by he heard a strange conversation, seeming to come from under the ground. "Human woman how and why did you enter here...." "Why are people talking in the middle of a battle", he wondered? As he listened he realized the conversation was rather onesided- though there were some weird giggles. A thud ended the conversation and Mahl lay there in silence once more.

Well this problem was asigned for an honours course and is one of the tougher problems that I have seen from the course. And I don't get asked about the easy questions that much so....

Of course it would be possible to complicate the problem further- put on a slope add air resistance and irregularities, make the sphere one of variable density, but anyways, I solved the problem last night thanks to *i's pointing in the correct direction, :)
But if you are interested in physics definitly take a look, I'm obviously biased but it is one of the more enjoyable subjects- Are you in an advanced course or a conceptual physics course?
