I've added quite a few custom terrain graphics to my scenario, and I always see a black, vertical line on the left side of the graphic when I try to test it in the game. The graphics are in the correct format (I got some of them from the Louvre), so am I missing something? Is anybody else having this problem? -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Whoa... I offer my deepest condolences. Yeah, don't pay any attention to the complaining from those people. The Louvre is simply awesome. I love the new stuff. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. I'm planning (and have started work on) a scenario revolving around an order of druids who've had their leader kidnapped. The druids are supposed to be the driving force behind the stability of the valley they live in, supporting the few settlements therein. Up for creation: treehouse temples, treants of some sort, recreating Find Herbs in the likeness of an item, divine intervention, and a plot which changes to suit the party's nature lore skill. The other main part of the scenario will be on the other side of an incredibly rugged mountain range (which will make up the middle part of the scenario), and will focus on fighting the druids' enemy (who kidnapped their leader), an order of drakes and lizards bent on chaos and self-indulgence. Slated for development: a shadow drake, fire-breathing chickens, working sewers (an oddity in the land of the Empire), the revived ability of flight, and acolytes which bear a strange resemblance to Garzahd. Does any of this sound remotely plausible to anyone? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Improving on Thuryl's advice, go into combat before you even enter the room (so the golem doesn't attack you yet). Bless, haste, and radiant shield everyone before you enter, and then just charge in at the demon golem. If you're quick about it, you can take it down in a turn or two. If not, just pick off the other golems while your shields last, then fry the demon. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Why would anyone need a character to exceed god-stats (lvl 250)? Anything that powerful is as close to indestructible as you can get, unless... Ah, an idea! How about a scenario for god parties? Maybe something akin to the early fights over Olympus (or the local equivalent). Or would that overload the game...? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Well, who knows... he may just mean putting out a scenario of epic proportions, one that puts the four that came with BoA to shame. He may delve into the past, as in before Avernum was even found... what would the surface situation be like? Perhaps a continuation of the game for only legendary parties (i.e.: past gamewinners) would be in order, though it'd be hard to convert old save files to a standard new format. I think we should just give Jeff the benefit of the doubt for now, particularly since he's done so well with past games (barring a few unpleasant bugs/issues). -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I concur... it's way too much fun to kill Morog to avoid it (and you get a great, if cursed, scepter out of it). Steal the scroll, go get the Opal yourself, reset the time as you stroll through the shrooms (stay to the east), grab the crystal of purity, and make for Khoth. Personally, I also took a unicorn horn and a slith totem with me. They didn't do anything, I think... Of course, I did all of that with a party around level 35 (I'd already finished all of the scenarios), so it might be difficult with a regular party. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Does that give you a different ending than killing just one of them? That'd be interesting if so... Plotwise, it'd certainly help the serfs more if both groups were "decommssioned". I wonder if Brosterman would show up to reward you... -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Well, if you really don't want to retire the party, write them into a scenario and let them live on forever! Alternatively, you could write them in and have them be killed, be the villains, let them run an inn, etc. Don't know if that helps, but it's something, anyway. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Yes, it's quite easy to make a light crystal, and I've done it to where it's actually practical, particularly for a party w/o mage skills (already tested it that way in VoDT and SR). So that'd be perfect for a scenario where mage spells are discouraged/prohibited (maybe revisiting the Anama?). I've got the basic script for it if anyone's interested. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Thuryl... no one will play it if you do that. That's just cruel. Anyway, echoing Imban, as long as you do it well, any ending works. Although personally, I'd advise against an ending like in A3, where you just finish... and that's it (with a huge cliffhanger as well). It's nice to be able to run around and tie up loose ends before you leave, victorious or not. Nonetheless, if you can make it work, go for it. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Ah, those stupid spectres... well, I just did enough damage in one turn to kill them quickly (100 damage per arrow from my archer). They are quite annoying, though. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. You know, you don't really need to get the opal. You should've stuck with the Draconian history scroll, as Khoth will accept that, and you'll save time. Personally, I took the advice of the unicorns (I think it was them), and just accepted the lich's first offer. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Back to the issue of the lava bridge.... I replayed the run on a whim recently, and I looked into that. There's a secret room in the southwestern half of that town, and you have to operate the wheel. The bridge will then appear. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Yeah, you need the scepter. It's in the Apothecary of the School of Magery, and you need to pass through quite a few secret doors to find the stupid thing. By the way, does it actually do anything? I mean, it's visible in your inventory, and you can use it once a day. It gives you some meaningless message when you use it, and I didn't notice any difference in my party. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead.
