quote:I remember running in, down some path to the north, getting one of my casters killed, and running back out as quick as possible. It was depressing, and it didn't make it any easier to get through the whole thing. It seemed that I only got people killed when I was as far as humanly possible from Mertis. I'm just glad the wolves left me alone. Not that it would've been difficult, but it would've been annoying. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Well, I can see why Riposte and damage to attacker would be improved by the "shield", but why Quick Strike and Parry? In fact, to keep it from being horribly broken, you might want to add some sort of penalty to defense or resistances. The last thing BoA needs is another über-weapon. And does this mean you're making a scenario? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Hm... I remember some item-forgers asking for a length of cavewood to make a wand. Does anyone know what they meant by that? I mean, just a stick? -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Yeah, there seems to be an epidemic of simultaneous posting lately... And Coldstone isn't so great... I remember trying it. You're still stuck in a restrictive engine, one which is based on running around and killing stuff. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Well, in my experience, the freakish bonus to Spell Points from just one more level of Intelligence beats the SP-conserving bonuses from one level of Mag. Efficiency. So, bottom line: increase your SP with intelligence, and just invest in some energy potions. You end up with a lot more energy left over. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Pardon my negativity, but those finals drained most of my optimism. I just hate our university's chemistry program... it's more quantum physics than anything (shudder). And it's not even the fun kind of quantum physics... just equations and the occasional bit of molecular geometry. In short, it's not practical chemistry, and it's mostly not lab chemistry. I would much rather have it be all lab work... -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. (walks away from chemistry finals) I... hate... chemistry. The brand taught at my university is designed to weed out pre-med students. I am not a pre-med. So I suffer for no real reason. Amazing what I'll put myself through to meet my degree requirements... Honestly though, chem lab was always the best part. What would you hope to do with your home laboratory? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. And it will, since it's an inane discussion of something that loses its comedic value about halfway through the first viewing. I beg to differ... Ninjas would slit the pirates' throats before the pirates even got over their hangovers. Ninjas win. End of story. On an unrelated note, isn't this a particularly random topic? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. It means, and I echo Tyranicus' sentiment, that he has seen it. It also means that he doesn't think very highly of it. While mildly entertaining the first time, it just doesn't have any comedic staying power. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. IC: Sequoia shuddered. It wasn't the cold, because he'd acclimated as much as he could, and the passage was full of stale, unmoving air. He looked around suspiciously. Why do I get the feeling that a hellish battle is about to ensue? The druid quickly decided that this train of thought was unlikely to get him anywhere, so he abandoned it. Instead, he focused his thoughts on the increasingly dark ice which formed the walls of the tunnel. Some of it looked sooty... but mostly it just looked darker, as if some thick smoke had been trapped in it. Either way, Sequoia felt unnerved by it. A breeze suddenly appeared, one which seemed to come from further up the passage. With it came what looked like a fragment of parchment, much to Sequoia's bewilderment. He nearly spoke up, but it appeared that the elf had already noticed. The elf picked up the fragment and studied it for a moment, before lightly tossing it aside. Well, if she's not concerned, then this shouldn't be too bad. Another breeze came out of nowhere, this time smelling slightly of sulfur. Stranger still, a few more scraps of parchment drifted down into the passage, and settled at the elf's feet. The elf took off at a run up the passage, with the look of someone caught in a bad dream. Sequoia and Lisha were left in the elf's wake, and they exchanged a puzzled look before setting off after the elf. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I get the feeling I'd enjoy living in Vahnatai Lands. As long as it wasn't during a major war (and I had the gold to buy 5 Vahnatai Lore skill...), it would actually be fine, or so I imagine. That, or post-A3 Valorim. Plenty of wide open space, with the occasional monster to hunt down. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead.
