(EDIT: Basically, what Kel said. Crud.) You could just put something like this in the START_STATE of the town/outdoor section: (This example would have a 10% chance of dealing 20 weapons damage to the party, every turn) [ Sunday, January 01, 2006 16:56: Message edited by: Ephesos ] -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Yeah... the majority of the work was completed in a 2-3 week period before the contest deadline. It was... how shall I put this... nightmarish. But I finally found the bug (#4) with Oakleaf... the editor kept directing me to the wrong bit of code (that's what I get for overlapping two special encounter rectangles). I was just missing one lousy if-statement... Anyway, I'm sending in a version 3.0 as we speak, with all of those bits fixed. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. First, thank you for the compliments. Second, it's all horribly, horribly flawed, and when you get right down to it, it's not very good. I have come to terms with this after seeing inexplicable bugs crop up, and several interesting discussions with people like TM. It's bad, and the next one will be better. As for actual answers, in sequential order: 1) Yep. It was a rush-job for the contest, after all. This isn't a mistake, just shoddy workmanship. 2) The idea was that either the owners were supposed to be out working in the fields, or that they were the quarters for people working elsewhere (i.e: either shopkeeper, the smith, Brother Dogwood). Either way, I should've made it clearer. But again, 'twas a rush-job. 3) Uh... it appears that I assigned dialogue nodes that didn't exist, so I think they all got bumped down to an incorrect node (possibly a BoA bug... it'd make more sense to simply crash the dialogue script). Crud. Well, now I know that v 3.0 will happen, no matter how pointless it seems. 4) I still don't know why that happens... I'll try to figure it out again, though... 5) The wizard shouldn't leave the room... the exit squares are blocked. I don't know why that happens, in short. 6) Talk to the druid (Brother Coldgale) outside the Sanctum first. Heck, you're not supposed to know that it's the Sanctum until after you've talked to him and Brother Elm. I need to fix that. I hope I didn't miss anything else... -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. I know Wizards has been messing with creature types, but how are Nephilim and Slith helping to consolidate creature types? I mean, there are only 6 slith in the game (all fairly recent additions), and there are no nephilim/nepharim anywhere in the game. This makes the first one. If I see one Vahnatai appear in the next expansion, I quit. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Yeah, the Incantor's Rings are great. The one Duality was talking about is found on the Southeastern Road, and on the lower level of it. The section is just south of the Honeycomb, I believe. Hm... didn't find that Sniper's Vest until the second time through... I think I just forgot to help Oliver. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Daze the Wyrms, and just send a tank up to crack the pylons. Haste your mage (or priest, depending on your damage-dealing preferences) so you can wake up the Wyrms in a big way. I find that two Lightning Sprays to the face works best, or at least stun 'em enough to keep 'em sedated. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Honestly, I cannot stress this enough... keep him Dazed, and he'll never get to summon the demon. I've replicated this experiment several times, and it works. Just make sure he's dazed before his turn in combat comes around (haste your mage to give yourself another chance in case he resists). Of course, this worked best with a party of two mages and two priests... -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." I'd personally keep Gaddika, just because it's more fun to summon an old enemy to fight for you. As for replacing the haaki, I'd go with a Shambler or a Spawned Fungus, personally... those pack a punch and have some nice immunities. I didn't know you could capture a Rakshasa, though. I thought their ridiculous magic resistance prevented that. Then again, I suppose I just remembered it incorrectly. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Wow... that looks nothing like a Nephil. Though Alo's cat-nage hybrid idea sounds about right. As an infrequent MtG player, however, it looks like an interesting card. And rather hard to explain, flavor- and cost-wise. EDIT: Now that I think of it, it looks like a hybrid between Jabba the Hut and an Avernum Nephil.
