I love this episode because it seems to personify much of that which is Spidweb. ------------------------------------------- Alec: In early 2003, I believe it was, I was playing Fallout. I had just cleansed Antium by holy fire when something popped. Real loud, inside the monitor, and the screen flickered out. Then it came back -- upside down, at half the normal width, in grayscale. A split second later, I caught the most terrifying odor I've ever smelled in my life. In a small room, illuminated by the hostile glare of a CRT that chose that moment to buy the farm loud, fast, and hard, I smelled roasting ham. I was out as soon as it took to rip the surge protector out of the wall and run like hell. Days later, the monitor still smelled like ham. I imagine it still does, but have no way to check. dareva: I am curious, yet horrified, about what caused the ham smell. Saunders: Alec had been using the monitor to cook his morning bacon by irradiation for years. Unbeknown to him, a slice had fallen down one day into the dark recesses of the casing, and had mutated into a unique life form. As it began to explore its world, it accidentally shorted the power supply, causing havoc to the peripheral operation, and ending its brief existence in a blaze of ham smell. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Magician by Raymond E. Feist. If not sure if I'd say it changed my life, but it's a good book in and of itself and introduced me to the adult fantasy genre. More life changing was Please Understand Me II by David Keirsey. Though "life changing" is probably more due to my personal circumstances, I would definately list as a must-read for absolutely everyone. Learning about Artisans, Guardians, Idealists, and Rationals makes it much easier to understand those that are completely unlike yourself. The personality test in my signature is based upon a small section of it, but the book itself different and far better. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! The first 2 tries gave me fractions of a second, the third about 1.26 seconds and the fourth 26.36 seconds. Let's see my top score in three mins. Edit: 31.97. I'm not sure if that was 3 mins but this game is starting to overload my pointlessness sensors. For the gloves, full steel might actually have been a fair price. They only cost about 200gp on member's worlds when bought from the store, but they are completely unavailable on free worlds unless bought from a member. Due to the rarity of them in the circumstances in which you bought them, you might actually have underpaid. If you, or anyone else, want other gloves of that green-blue color, a maroon-like color, a sort of mustard yellow, or dark pink (I think) I'll sell them to you for store price. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Here is your answer: He is a begger. They are the people too stupid to realize that with the amount of time and effort they put into demanding next-to-worthless items off of others they could make/earn their own, probably better, stuff. My suggestion is to simply ignore him. Or, on the other hand, he may simply be six years old. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. *rolls eyes* This is very simple. The Dwarven mines, the Falador mines, and the mining guild are all the same thing. They are all connected. There is an entrance to this cave in the mountians northeast of Falador; this entrance is known as the Dwarven mines. If you go south and little west through the mines you can go up a staircase that leads to the very eastern part of Falador. Barely south of the Falador east bank there are ladders that lead down to about 70 coal rocks; this is known as the mining guild. It is seperated from the rest of the mine only by a single door that you must be lvl 40 mining to use. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. "The Stash" makes me think "mustache" :D Though I believe you are refering to your hair. I have not named my muscles. Not that my muscles are worth naming. :P Do you actually have a six-pack? For the sake of being eccentric I decided to collect bowling balls. In an idle moment here and there I've named them and given them personal histories. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Alternately, you could just consume mind-altering substances before playing. I'm sure this would create many entertaining effects, possibly even including a sense of 3 dimensions. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! I'm a fantasy nut (especially concerning magic/psionics/other mental powers) and my name is Alex. Pretty simple. quote:Speaking of which, you fairly scream NF (iNtuitive Feeling). Are you?
