..........if Avernum was in 3D? I don't mean 3D as in Everquest and all those sort of games, but as in 3D movies (You know, 3D glasses and the like). I think that would make for some interesting gameplay. I wonder if you could really do that. Just a suggestion. -- Diarog Lethuta -------------------- Ever since I met you so very long ago, There's been something I've badly needed to know, Do you love me and want to end my pain? I imagine that would be just a little strange... Magic effects would just look trippy. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

Isn't doing a little -- line a little excessive, considering your signature is already festooned with your likeness? To answer your question: I've seen 3D done with computers before, and the result was not particularly impressive. It's very hard on the eyes; and it'd take someone with specific training to create 'variable' 3d (instead of just making it look like the entire screen was offset from its actual position by a few degrees). It could possibly be done with BoA, but I doubt well or to a partiuclarly breathtaking end. Posts: 794 | Registered: Tuesday, October 11 2005 07:00 |

Sounds more likely to give you a pounding headache than be cool. Then again, I'm naturally prone to pounding headaches. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Sorry. I was really bored when I thought of this. Strange ideas often come to mind when I'm bored. And no, I must use the "--" because I said so. I must always sign my posts like that. Why? I don't know. -- Diarog Lethuta -------------------- Ever since I met you so very long ago, There's been something I've badly needed to know, Do you love me and want to end my pain? :) Would you mind to explain us your strange moniker? I couldn't find any analogue to this never heard name and it puzzles me since I saw it the first time. -------------------- ^ö^ I was a cannibal for twenty-five years. Given that Avernum isn't really about the graphics and that Spiderweb's business model of large free downloadable demos, using a gimmick like 3D that requires special glasses is pretty poor. Alternately, you could just consume mind-altering substances before playing. I'm sure this would create many entertaining effects, possibly even including a sense of 3 dimensions. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Not skribbane. Firstly, I don't share. Secondly, the cult has far better ways to play with your mind. Have you seen the implants v2.3? —Alorael, who hasn't either. That's because they're inside heads. But he's seen the effects, and they are something you'd never forget if they weren't messing with your head anyway.
