Erg, I had a dream last night that the board ate my account. It was sad. I need to stop reading the boards before going to bed. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Posts: 1629 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

quote:What he meant was that the King James version of the bible, which we use, does not specifically mention the word "Nephilim". It does, however, refer to them. Comparison between that Wikipedia article's version of Genesis 6:1 and the King James version of the bible shows they are basically the same except for tense, phrasing, and the use of the word "nephiliim", though both refer to children of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men". I found an article, which seems to say that the Mormon church's take on the matter is that "sons of God" didn't mean angels, but rather referred to those who worshiped God and the "daughters of men" were those who did not. I do not recall nor was I able to find any reference to any of the handful of Nephis appearing as an angel. Also, I did not find anything placing any particular significance upon the similarities in the name "Nephi" and the word "nephilim" or any other connection between the two. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! quote:The same sort of thing happened a few years ago to our pumpkins and our cucumbers. They were small, orange and squash shaped, but when cut open had a cross-section like a cucumber and tasted like one as well. Actually, you can still find it. Wait! No need to scream! This is not a new satellite board and/or demented offspring and/or wannabe spidweb. My purposes are entirely unrelated to these boards. I'm looking for suggestions for a free message board service. In particular I'm hoping some one knows of one that uses banner ads rather than pop-ups, though any suggestions would be welcome. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! The important thing to remember is that you deposit your sanity, not your ability to sense when a joke has been taken to the point of stupidity, tastelessness and/or cliche.
