Detta is short for Bernadette. Bernadette Van Bergen is my "fake name". I was almost named Bernadette, but my mom changed her mind when she got to the hospital. So I'm a little sad about that.

My name is also semi-randomly made up. It started out as Russian translation of Latin root of my real name, but when I wrote it down in English alphabet, it looked hard to pronounce. So I played around with letters until I got something that looked symmetrical and easy to pronounce.

This is the main name I use in all games and online, so I use it almost as often as my real name.

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

I'm one of the people here who change their monikers, though I do it less/more often than others. They usually portray something I've felt like I wanted to somehow express.. um, feelings and stuff. Except the feelings only last about a day or so. I try to come up with names I don't mind using longer.

But I'm known (I should be known! Shame on you if you don't! :P ) as Riibu around here, and pretty much anywhere else I'm registered. Except Xanga. I think Riibu was taken. Damn thieves.

I made it up when I first got a personal computer and found out my first internet game. It seemed fun and I wanted to join and of course it asked for a user name. I didn't want to use my own name, so I either made one that reminded my own name, or I used one of my character names. If I used a character name (possibly Agath, but I'm not sure), I made up Riibu later when I registered some 10 more accounts. I was pretty into the game, back then... ^^ Unfortunately it's gone now.
Aaand.. it doesn't mean anything, though it seems to be a Japaneses nickname. Or not, it' just something I've vaguely heard.

Equinox. There were at least 6 different versions of the same game, when I last saw them. I preferred to play the 5th. It was a simple hack'n'slash game, lots of mindnumbing clicking, no pictures. I often stopped playing it for months, but every now and then I made a new character and played some. It was.. special. :\

As far as I know, translated chicho would be somewhat as what people call rolls or pooch in english. It's like the fat around a woman's (mostly) stomach. Like when you pinch a girls stomach and there is a lot of meat on it.

I've never used it as a name until my baby cousin started calling her little brother that when she was two and the name just stayed. Surely, is not nice to call him that but it's just so sweet on him.

Ah, Error, YaBB eh?

Ephesus in actually mentioned in the Bible, with the book of Ephesians named after it.

My name came with my first Internet account, MSN Gaming Zone, where ben was invariably taken. (The miscapitalization was a result of a speedy job, and I haven't changed it since.) It suggested some of the assumedly only 4-character numbers at the end that were still available, the lowest of which was 4808. No point in coming up with something better when joining some third-party game forum.

You're going to have to visit my website to find out what my name means.

Hint: look at the bottom of the main page.

And no, contrary to what you may think, the name does not occur in any of A.E. van Vogt's books. I made it up myself. How it became attached to my webiste is a long, boring story. And if I could go back in time and do things differently, I wouldn't associate the word "Icshi" with the website.

<end of shameless plug>

I pronounce it how it is spelt. Easy.

And I'll try a couple of random letterings:

Sufe, Sigbr, Fowbb.

I did get Dcpwn, somewhere.

The problem is that I know my keyboard so well that whenever I try to hit random letters I instead come up with random words. I close my eyes and what comes out is no different form what I wrote before I did so.

Well, except for the "form".

I'm a fantasy nut (especially concerning magic/psionics/other mental powers) and my name is Alex. Pretty simple.

...Honestly I have no idea. I just thought he was nifty because he was one of the few monsters that could stand up to a high level party for a little while with no problem. That and the added fact that he's a red dude with no shirt could be interpreted as a plus, don't cha think?

SupaNik wasn't a name I coined for Spiderweb, and is about 4 years old. I don't remember the funny story behind it, or if there is one...

Well, my real name is Nikki, so that's the "Nik" bit. As for the "Supa", I think I was going for "super", but either spelled it wrong, or it was taken. And it sounded okay, so I kept it.

You do know that if you misspelt it, you can change it at any time.

Yah. I also said that it was okay, so I kept it. "SuperNik" just doesn't look right, does it?

I got my name from the book The Merlin Conspiracy(by Diana Wynne Jones). When I first got my name on IM, I mispelled it and left out an h(in the book, it's Nichothodes) and I couldn't fix it. I now spell it without the h because it's sad when you have to tell people 'on IM I'm Nicothodes, without an h, on Spiderweb I'm Nichothodes with an h, etc.'.
