Well, you're certainly a piece of work. Point by point:

No offense implied, hopefully none taken. However I have been attacked before because I put something in the wrong forum, and hence I feel so should you. Note your post count (10) and TM's (4000+). TM has been here long enough to know the rules. You haven't. You should not be lecturing him on the rules.

Beyond that, while I feel that MAYBE Blades Of Avernum might never even have came out (doubtfull though) if it wasn't for the popularity of BOE, I do not think that BOA owes anything to BOE. You do know that Avernum is a remake of Exile in a new engine, don't you? Avernum IS Exile. It would not make any sense for JV to try to make Avernum in isolation.

I never played BOE. However, I have BOA registered. So, at least in my world, BOA is completely exclusive to BOE. You know those BoA scenarios that you like playing? They're made by TM, Khoth, Stareye... all BoE designers.

I think the BOE community deserves thanks to BOA, for giving it such a versatile engine. Not the other way around. A BoA player should thank the BoE community for making the third-party scenarios for BoA, not tell the community that they should be grateful for whatever Jeff Vogel gives them.

Well, the license does have a clause about not reverse-engineering the code in any way. It would in fact be a violation of the license, which is a legal contract that you agreed to by purchasing and using the software. Hence, you would be in breach of a contract, which is illegal.

But you don't exactly seem like the most reasonable person in the world, so I'm not going to say too much more on the matter.

I don't pretend to know anything about BoE, really, unlike general Spiderweb things. I suspect you're going to get fewer responses than Alec did.

I have some issues with the wording on a few of these.

I would have been more comfortable with 1 if it had been phrased, "How many games has Jeff Vogel made?" or something more specific.

Also I would argue 5 outright: there are three quests that one must complete in order to "win" E1 and E2, but they each can only be done in one way and a final victory requires completion of all three.

For 9, you are discounting utility scenarios. TM's Artifacts Hall and my HLPM push the number of scenarios to 11.

For those who have never played the Exile Trilogy, questions 15, 16, 17, and 18 are rather meaningless. I did happen to get all of them right, because: one of the pages on SW's site says that Lost Bahssikava is new to Avernum; I'd heard some references to Exile 1.0's Jeff Vogel-drawn graphics (in a conversation with Djur, I think, or possibly Alec); I figured that it was reasonable to believe that Jeff made up the vahnatai for E2 (as they play no role in E/A1, really); and I guessed that E3 probably didn't have a damage cap. Still, to Avernites like myself, these are rather obscure pieces of information.

I'm pretty sure that Alorael is right. Well, some sources: what Annwn is, and how to pronounce Celtic. That is, it should be AN-oon, as in the "oo" in "good" (because I think it's short).

No, not visibly glowing.

I suppose one could just modify the character graphic in a paint program and then paste it back into the core files. This might take a fair amount of work, though.

The scenarios are, obviously, .bas files. I would think that would be fairly obvious just from looking around at the files that come with the demo. But perhaps we didn't make this clear:

MAKING A NEW VERSION OF THE BOA APPLICATION, THE "SCENARIO EXECUTOR" AS YOU CALL IT, WOULD BE ILLEGAL.

EDIT: And, come to think of it, might get you banned from these boards.

EDIT 2: But #2 on your list would be a really good idea and should be encouraged.

Er, yes. Seeing as how I normally dress rather darkly, perhaps for Halloween I should dress in bright pink with rather too much blush and eyeshadow and perhaps even a tasteful skirt. Instead of saying "Trick-or-treat!", I might have to say, "I feel pretty, oh-so-pretty!"

Nah, I think I'll just dress even more darkly on All Hallow's Eve.

It's close to election time. I think all Americans are a bit tense right now. The turnout is predicted to be higher than any election in something like a hundred years.

Sadly, I don't know any good ghost stories. Halloween is a good holiday, though. We had some local kids go trick-or-treating in our dorms because the neighborhoods where they were from were too dangerous to trick-or-treat in. It was pretty cool.

EDIT: Dear god, there's an election rally a block away from my room. I suppose I have to go see what's going on. Halloween. Yes. That too.

As a Mac user, I use the keyboard a bit more than a PC-user might. I right-click with my left hand (that is, by clicking while holding down Control) and scroll mouse with the arrow keys or Page Up and Page Down. The same functionality is still there; it's just in a different place.
