The first thing you should do is punctuate your sentences so that those who would like to help you can easily read the problem that you are describing. After that, there are some options. There are four major ways to contact Spiderweb: e-mail, phone, regular mail, and fax. All four are described in detail here. In any of these ways that you can, tell Spiderweb exactly what you just told us, and add the registration number of the demo you just downloaded and as much information as possible about how you registered the other version, name and address being the most critical. If you're not sure about any of the information, tell them everything you know. ("I might have registered under my name, which is ____, but I also might have registered under my father's name, which is ____.") There are only five artifact quests (the Ring of Endless Magery, Pachtar's Plate Mail, the Fury Crossbow, the Recipe for the Knowledge Brew, and the Black Halberd), but there are dozens of mini-quests and side-quests. The Golem Factory is hard no matter what, but it helps to know where you're going. The walkthrough in the header of these boards gives decent instructions. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Ah, there it is. I think your best bet is to bless and haste before you enter the room with only your fighter, and then just let him go at it with the spellcaster first and then the dervish. Use the priests only for healing and re-blessing. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Okay, a handful of things: first, you know that the Opal Mines quest is (semi-)optional, right? You can get any of three things to get out of the Run. Second, you should easily be powerful enough to handle anything in ZKR if you've beaten VoDT and ASR twice each. Third, there are no dervishes in the Opal Mines, so I'll assume you're talking about the Elite Soldiers. These should not be too bad if you just Bless and Haste your fighters and Heal them when they get damaged. If you need further instructions than that, you'll need to be more specific. What's your party configuration (default: fighter/fighter/priest/mage)? Are you talking about the first battle when you initially enter the Opal Mines level? -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I was wondering if the point would be lost on a newbie. Clearly so. EDIT: I suppose I should be charitabe enough to spell it out. These cheats are pretty well-known. Posting them unrequested is kind of pointless. Okay, now you've crossed the line. This topic consists of a single question and a single, comprehensive answer, both done a long time ago. That means this thread is dead, so posting in it is probably a bad idea. Then you posted something that adds NOTHING to the discussion. That's called "thread necromancy" and is frowned upon here. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I got my information about these things from the mailing list."And, hopefully, we'll have some good news about Avernum 4 for you soon," it says. I'm guessing that means screenshots. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I think this thread will be ongoing as we get screenshots (soon, supposedly) and more news about the game. Some people are annoyed because they kept begging and begging for an Exile 4 but never got one, instead getting the Avernum Trilogy, which was the same as the Exile Trilogy, Jeff's way of selling us the same thing twice. Some people are worried about the havoc this will wreak in BoA, as Alorael nicely pointed out above. Some people really doubt Jeff's ability to make a decent storyline and just think it will suck regardless. Because of A3, I am a little worried that he'll make this game similarly huge but equally stupid in terms of over-arching plot. I just don't want to see the Avernum universe butchered. On the other hand, as stupid as it was, I really liked A3, because the details brought it to life, even as the general plot killed it. I'm probably going to buy A4, and I'm probably going to like it, too. I'm just a little worried about it. I suppose I haven't said anything new in this post, but meh. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Don't be sad, Magi. This doesn't mean we don't like you. It's just that we have certain rules here, and you broke them. You can come back after a week if you promise to behave better (which basically means making posts that relate to the topic, not making pointless topics, keeping gaming questions in the proper forums, etc). -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. quote:I just have a pretty good command of the resources available. I use hint books, FAQs, and my favorite: Avernum Annotated Maps (but only for A1, really). To Magi: be more specific. What happens when you try to use those controls? And also, if you somehow don't get banned and really want to find out what to do, then make a thread over in the BoA forum, rather than hijacking a thread in the AT forum. This one dies. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Getting a number as low as 6 out of any name is virtually impossible if you're doing it by the same system that produced 666. Notice that Caesar Nero is in the several hundreds. George W. Bush would be far higher than that, I think. Kerry did not flip-flop any more than Bush did. Both sides told significant lies during the campaign, and that was one of the Bush side's lies. Bush flip-flopped on the justification for the war, for instance. Besides, why is it bad to change one's mind to reflect new realities? I never got that. I think it's pretty clear that both the Israelis and the Palestinians are in the wrong. Assigning blame isn't going to help anyone. Figuring out what to do next is kind of important, though. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Depends on the means. Certain actions are terrorist actions, regardless. I don't know as much about this as I should, but my understanding was that the Israeli leader is just as difficult to work with. I can't say I'm mourning Arafat's death very much, but I'm not too hopeful about the process, either. I don't think the US is in a position to facilitate negotiation between the two sides, so unless a European country steps up and unless Sharon gets better or gets replaced, Arafat's death doesn't mean a thing. Just a new face repeating the same words. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
