If you want to, go for it. I'm not sure that anyone would use it, though. Custom objects scripts are fairly easy to make. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It is possible, but it would be a fair amount of work. Since it has no custom graphics and not terribly complex nodes, it wouldn't be too hard, but you'd still have to re-write all the dialogue. Whether it's worth it or not, I don't know. The general consensus on porting seems to be that your effort would be better spent making something original. EDIT: The BoA editor has a function that does a good chunk of the porting for you. I just realized that you might not know that. Erika's Legacy is best understood as one of the first scenarios ever made that actually resembled something decent. I have to admit, Erika's Legacy had more to do with me quitting BoE than any other scenario, though, because since it placed so high in the First Contest, I assumed that it was one of the better scenarios out there, but then I couldn't come even close to completing it — not, oddly enough, because of the invulnerable monsters, which I was able to figure out, and if I could figure it out, then I feel like anyone else who tried could also, but because of a fight later on — and my failure to complete this scenario was the climax of my frustration as a BoE player and caused me to leave the scene for three years. So I have a certain antipathy towards the scenario, but really, it's not your fault. One of these days, I'm going to have to face my demons and beat the damn thing. Oh, and those features that were broken then are still broken now, much to the frustration of the BoE community. Yes, we have BoA, finally, but it took seven years, and some of us like the Exile engine better, and some of us just think that he should fix known bugs in a product that he's still selling. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. EM is Emerald Mountain, a scenario that TM made that is available here. So you're the person who made Erika's Legacy. Welcome back! Hrm. It was good in its time, from what I've read. I didn't detect a note of satire anywhere, so maybe it was, er, too subtle for me. In fact, even being told that it was supposed to be satirical, I don't see it. But eh. You may be interested to know that BoE is still alive and kicking and that a great deal of interesting scenarios have been made since you've been away. I encourage you to stop by the Lyceum if you haven't already and see what's been going on. Newly-returned oldbies are always welcome. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Custom graphics are supposed to be numbered between 500 and 600. EDIT: If you sent them to me (e-mail in profile), then I could probably host them temporarily. Well, it is only a one-week ban. This serves as his warning, I think. Do you know how to do a search on your computer to find the folder "A Small Rebellion"? (Not familiar with PC's, don't know how it would be done.) Put the HLPM folder next to ASR's folder, and it should work. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. You want the zip file, then, if you're a PC user. Inside the folder Blades of Avernum, which has the application itself, there should be a folder called Blades of Avernum Scenarios. It should have folders entitled "Valley of Dying Things," "A Small Rebellion," "The Za-Khazi Run," and "Diplomacy With the Dead" already in it. Put the folder that says "High Level Party Maker" next to those folders. Then load up a party, click on Enter Scenario, find the image of heaps of gold, and click on it. You should be in the HLPM. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Are you downloading the right kind of file (sit or zip)? Are you putting it in your Blades of Avernum Scenarios folder? Do you have a registered copy of the game? If you're getting an error message, what is it and when does it occur? If you're not, then what specifically should be happening that isn't? -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It would help to know which room you're in. But whatever. In the first room, stand on the white mushrooms and then walk south. In the second room, push a crate onto the rune where you started. In the third room, walk S S E E S S E S S W W W W N N through the danger. In the fourth room, step only on the sixth room (lighting all of the lights). There's more, but I don't want to post a walkthrough for the entire dungeon. If you have more difficulty, ask a more specific question. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. You have to go to my website. (Link in sig.) I can see the picture. And of course if you make good custom graphics for BoE, you can make them available however you see fit. Since the BoA graphics are freely available anyway, I don't think it would be a problem if they were based on those, either. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Why not take out the "if" part of the calls? Putting a field on a space that already has a field does nothing harmful. It may just be a matter of when BoA reads the fields as disappearing: if it erases fields after the START_STATE, which I think it does, it would take an extra turn to add a new field. Getting rid of the "if" parts might fix this. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Attacking an ally makes the town hostile. I assume that Erika shows up as a normal citizen: if the town is friendly, she is friendly, but if the town is hostile, she is hostile (like town guards in any other town). -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
