If that were the only problem in "Archmagi" Micael's posts, I think we would accept that. However, it is far from the only one. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! This thread is now in the running to win the prestigious annual Most Painful To Read award! Congrats! I wish I could follow that rather useless comment with something more useful, but I can't. I know nothing about your technical dilemmas. You might get more of a response if you used less AIM-speak and more proper capitalization and spelling and grammar and suchlike, though. EDIT: And if you're not a native English speaker, writing "you" as "you" instead of "u" will get you pretty far by itself. Brain-dead is a pretty decent translation, ef. He's in an irreversible coma? From a quick search on Google, it appears that the Palestinians have released conflicting reports (probably exacerbated by the difficult of translating between French, Arabic, English, and probably a handful of other languages) on Arafat's declining and apparently critical health. At any rate, maybe this means that the U.S. will take its head out of its rear end and make a more substantial attempt to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If we wanted to reduce anti-U.S. sentiment in the Middle East, taking steps forward in that process would certainly help — and that would probably give extremist groups less of a platform. And I think Bush has claimed that Arafat is a significant roadblock in the negotiations, at least in their minds. Clinton didn't seem to have the same trouble with him, but Bush has. So... maybe this means we'll negotiate again. And maybe that will actually help the situation in the Middle East. Or maybe the Bush administration will come up with some other reason not to negotiate because they know that if they do, they will incompetently bungle the whole thing. I don't know. I have no faith in our current administration. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Did you perchance attack her first? Attempt to charm her? Attempt to Capture Soul her? Fireblast her? She is allied with you. She does not start out attacking you. Don't spam. Posting three topics in the same boards in close chronological succession is known as "spamming" and frowned upon here. Shanti had to die because the plot wouldn't've worked otherwise. You had to become a free and independent shaper to choose whatever side you wanted. I guess. I was a little thrown off by the fact that Shanti died so early in the game. I thought it would've been interesting to have her around for longer. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I have considered the argument that RavagedSoul puts forward against interracial breeding, and eventually I came to the conclusion that it's not valid. I'm not going to nitpick the language of the paragraph, although I could (and it's worded rather badly), but I'll take the general thrust of the argument. Ultimately, the genetic differences between the "races" — and one has to be careful with that term, insofar as we are talking about race, here, and not ethnicity, which is different; there are three races — are minimal. We're not really losing much in the way of uniqueness when we mix our genetic material. One might as well say that blue-eyed people should not interbreed with brown-eyed people as say that black people and white people should not interbreed. Moreover, the same argument could be used to argue that people should only interbreed with members of their family. This, obviously, would lead to genetic disaster within a few generations. In fact, bacteria, whose evolution is quite strong, can exchange genetic packets (kind of like having children, but not) across species. Really, we should be encouraging greater genetic mixture, rather than less — unless we wanted to be eugenists and breed humans like dogs for certain characteristics, but there are serious problems with that, both from a moral standpoint and from a technical standpoint. While I suppose it is theoretically possible that some all-powerful divine being created this world with the fossil records already intact, and I suppose one could ascribe some sort of motive for such a being to do so, I don't know how it substantitively differs from the possibility that the fossil records are actual history. Whether God created the world in such a way that it appears that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago or whether they actually existed millions of years ago doesn't seem tremendously important in the long run. Evolution is a useful model insofar as it can suggest to us how things might be done in the future: selective crop breeding, for instance. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Nor would any of the other Slavic nations. I'm having a little bit of trouble tracking down what language that is, exactly. It's Slavic, but what, I don't know. It does explain the total lack of respect for the law, though. There seems to be something in the political climate of the countries formerly part of the Soviet Union that makes their citizens believe that law simply does not matter. This would make an interesting discussion topic, although this thread is not, I guess, the place for it. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Uh, all the scenarios for BoA or for BoE? Either way, I think your best bet is to go to the Lyceum's scenario rankings (either for BoE or for BoA) to get their names and then either to Alexandria to download the BoE scenarios or... uh... I guess Spiderweb's page to get the BoA ones. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. quote:If you're really asking that question, that means you're stupid enough not to realize that a person could not conceivably answer no. If you're not really asking that question, then your parenthetical was a heap of excrement. I'm not sure which I believe more. Generally copyright law and intellectual property are respected pretty seriously throughout most of the developed world. Yes, you would have to be in a fairly bizarre country for copyright law not to exist or be enforced. Also, copyright law is respected on these boards, as they are the company's official boards — think about it. Since you are such a paragon of reason, I'm sure you won't have any trouble figuring this out. Your question has, by the way, been answered. Khoth answered it already. He and Isaac are the two who have been doing the most tinkering with the BoA Editor, so those two would know, and you got an answer from one of them. Okay, let me see. You said, "However I have been attacked before because I put something in the wrong forum, and hence I feel so should you." That implies that you feel that he should be attacked for putting this in what you (wrongly) thought was the wrong forum. Yet somehow you claim, "Not once did I get angry, or defensive, or offensive as far as I know." Perhaps you weren't angry; in that case, your words indicated something stronger than you felt. You also said, "I never lectured him, merely told him that I feel that it is unappropriate for this to be here. If he has been here for so much longer then I, he should know what goes where." HE DOES. YOU WERE WRONG. And you add, rather defensively, "I have no quarrels with anyone on this board. Except when my speaking privileges are dampened by a large number of angry and bored people." So you have no quarrels, and don't feel that you've been offensive, but go out of your way to characterize those who have (correctly) disagreed with you as unjust, as well as "angry and bored." I hope you realize that this directly contradicts what you just said. But then, you also said, "I often do not make sense. Yes, I did at the time realize that it would not make sense, nor was it supposed to." Good to know that you just spew garbage at us for the sake of annoying us, then. Thanks for that. Oh, and P.S.: about your statement, "If you don't like my opinion, don't read it," this, again, does not make sense. One has to read your post before knowing whether one likes it. But since you're not trying to make sense, I guess you don't care. In conclusion, I hope that you find true love and mate with a blender. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Well, yeah, that part of it is easy, but I was talking about the part when you have to change the pict resource in a paint program to make it glow.
