Hmm... I have heard talk of people who will make Trainers and other such cheating ways for BoA, now i ask, would it not be possible to undermind this?? I mean if all they do is use hex code modifications to change the starting values, should the values be able to be bugged, in some manner to reverse these modifications? -------------------- plz feel free to email me answers at stargazer_do@hotmail.com Posts: 69 | Registered: Saturday, November 8 2003 08:00 |

Easily, it's fairly easy to take down the levels of stats and stuff permanently, but nobody ever does it. Because - who wants to lower stats? But it CAN be done . If someone wants to cheat, let him. BoA isn't an online game. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Assuming Jeff uses the standard Software EULA, any sort of reverse engineering, direct manipulation of the game code, or of the memory used by the game is forbidden. But since big companies cannot stop constant piracy, I do not think Jeff even cares (as long as you do not distribute it too publicly). But there have been some utilites that do those things, and are even announced on these message boards. Mainly, Jeff does not care about it as long as you are not affecting his income. Some combination of get_stat and alter_stat ought to be able to do this without any hex editing. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Although there's no way to tell whether a stat's been raised through the character editor, the HLPM, h*x-*d*t*ng, or just lots of skill potions or level-building. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

We're not really supposed to talk about that topic here. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
