Maybe it could focus on the Empire's earlier days, when it wiped out the troglodytes the first time?

I think that it will definately take place in one of the other continents. I don't know how, what with them being settled, but Valorim is old hat. And with the exception of Exile (which is a much better name than Avernum), Jeff hasn't used the same location twice in any of his games.

Perhaps a pre- (or even post-) Empire world could work?

Secondly, double-posting is generally a bad thing in all fora. I, for example, have managed to address two different things in this one post. It isn't hard. And, if you would care to look, "intentional double posting" is in violation of the CoC, whether or not it addresses two different things.

If you want to seperate two different things, use paragraphs, or, if you must a row of dashes. Don't double post. And don't criticise others for asking, rather politely in my opinion, that newer members don't do it.

Loyalist Shaper (No Cannisters)
Rebel Shaper (Cannisters)
Loyalist Agent (No Cannisters)

As you can see, I like the Shapers more than the Rebels. I currently have a Loyalist Guardian stuck in the middle of Harmony Island, but it's unlikely he'll finish.

You should be able to create several artifacts before going over. Read the FAQ for more details... These are what you should be wearing.

What's your favorite cereal? in General

I'd kill for Lucky Charms. Nobody seems to stock them in England anymore. They are my favourite cereal.

I mostly eat Coco Pops / Cheerios. I eat cereal mostly at night, although I'd eat it any time. And I, like Drakey, have mastered the art of milk-pouring. I always have just a little bit of milk at the bottom of the dish.

If Drakey says there is a GF4, there will be. Plus, the ending of GF3 did make it enivitable. And hopefully, if any of this feedback gets back to the big JV himself, GF4 will be something special.

Being a musician is too popular with you guys, so that's out the window...

I want to be a film director/writer. That's always appealed to me. Or, like Alorael rightly mentioned, an animate, literate, and speaking vegetable would be good.

Aran wants to leave, but his mother won't let him back into the house in his messy clothes. Since he has no other clothes, due to his extended stay in these fora, and due to him having no money (his wallet is in his other trousers), he's stuck.

Or that's how I heard it...

We're forgetting one vital piece of information. Since Alorael's a sniper, the ferrets won't be able to get near him. He'll be up in a bell tower somewhere. And whilst the ferrets MAY be trained to kill or whatever, they won't know how to open the door to climb the stairs to get to Alo. So, he's pretty safe I'd imagine.

So, happy birthday. And welcome back. And Aran, what's the deal with "period marks"? Your not American! Call them "full stops"!

I have to admit, GF3 isn't one of the best games Spiderweb has produced. Far from it. But it might be worth noting that maybe Jeff planned all of this.

Instead of making GF1, and then thinking, "hey this is good, lets do more", it might be that he sat down, wrote a huge story and then split it into chunks. If that is the case, then GF4 will continue the story. After all, there is now a war. This probably isn't what happened, but look at Star Wars. That was planned as a huge story, and Episodes 1 + 2 really sucked. Maybe GF is about to get much better?

That said, I think Jeff should have at least tried to implement some new creations/spells. The fact is that during all of Ghaldring's time in the wilderness, "perfecting his skills", he didn't create so much as one new creature. And the Shapers, with their many research labs, haven't either.

If GF4 comes out, we should at least give it a try. GF3 isn't everybody's cup of tea, but to be fair, neither was Exile or Avernum.

Apart from graphics, and a potential problem with the real-time element of GF, BoG wouldn't be harder to use than BoE or BoA. And the scenario's wouldn't have to continue the story line, they would just have to take place in the GF world. They wouldn't necessarily have to continue the story.

And I for one don't see that as a problem. After all, GF fans will buy it. They will want to see more of the world that they already have an interest in. And it'll be shareware, so if it is awful, we won't have to buy it!

Who plays pencil and paper roleplaying games? in General

I used to play too, but circumstances forced me to give it up. Or I couldn't be bothered... anyway, in response to the questions...

I played second edition D&D, with the Forgotten Realms as the setting.

I played about twice a week. Our German teacher was DM, and there were 6 PCs, each controlled by one person.

I love D20's for some reason. I had a lucky "hobbit die", that was really tiny. I hated percentile rolls, due to my being killed whenever that happened.

British. They are also known as suspenders, although that kinda sounds like something ladies wear. Here's a useful picture...

Unless they set up a production line and mass produce sanity.

Although within Spiderweb, that seems a tad unlikely. They could import I guess, but that would screw up the Balance of Payments within the whole economy...

EDIT: Wow! I'm in a picture! Just for the record though - I wear trouser braces as of last night.
