Kel is sorta safe though because he already had a girlfriend before coming here...

Also, since it appears posting the IQ caught on, I was right about the snob bit. Seriously, has anyone ever known someone with an IQ below 100?

Oh, yes, 'in' with them, he's in an evil plot to destroy us all, blah, blah, blah... grow up. The world is way more complicated than that! In this country, and in every other first world one, no one can stop someone from developing some new amazing technology that can replace oil, there's a reason literally every university in the world who can is working on this!!!

"The world is way more complicated than that" is a tired line, and it is especially ironic since it is also used by those who like to overly simplify the world.

If Bush does not want a new technology to be developed, you can bet there won't. He is already scratching research and education funding in all kinds of places. We're going to see a general dumbing down of the average population soon.

Mmmmh... considering I RPed a colony of Ermarian for some time in Nationstates (www.nationstates.net), this could be interesting. I just need to get clear on when my next exams are scheduled, so I don't run into any problems with that.

By Wednesday, I could try to write something. Since you mentioned all those dozens of non-canon continents, am I right in understanding that this particular "incarnation" of Ermarian can be added to at will, ie we can all just make something up?

(whew, it's impossible to be original by now).

I am Arancaytar, I've been here for slightly over two years (played Spiderweb games for slightly over four), and I originally came here because of an Avernum III bug that I am very grateful for.

I'm now seventeen years old, living and studying Technomathematics (IT/Math) in Aachen, Germany, in the second semester, except for weekends. I spend more than 60 hours weekly in front of a PC. My IQ places me in the top 0.135 percentile according to this site, which wouldn't sound as bad as it does if Thuryl hadn't posted his before.

I like to play the piano. I am learning PHP, and also like to read Shakespeare nearly as much as Tolkien. According to unverified claims, I have talked Elvish in my sleep. I do not speak Elvish, but I write Tengwar and could probably understand a few sentences if given time and a dictionary. I am a member of Spiderweb and Polaris. I have registered on more than fifty different forums, but I post on only about seven of them. I have 5 GMail accounts, and 50 times that many free invites. I have designed Blades of Exile scenarios since July 2001, but I have never finished one. I play NationStates. I once tried to compile an Encyclopedia for the Avernum world. I am a member of the Santharian Dream. Apart from that, I speak English and German fluently (or the former at least fluently enough to fool a native speaker), and I can read, but not speak or write French. I can derive implicitly, and integrate partially. I can write a PHP script that almost appears not to suck as long as nobody sees the code. I divide my sleep into two four-hour periods for no reason. I write good stories and bad poems in my spare time. I can do magic. I have a sister who is two years younger than me. I wish to achieve world peace. Without any exercise, I weigh more than ten kilograms less than I should at my size, which makes me a walking skeleton. I am all-powerful. I have never lied in my life. I have never started nor ended a sentence with "I". I am seven thousand years old.

Oh, and I look like this.

IMAGE(http://images.polarisboard.org/arancaytar/photo.jpg)

Much of the above is true.

I regularly get a DNS error when accessing Polaris from some computers. This happens about once in a week, on Wednesday or Thursday depending on the weather, and exactly, on the minute, after 12:15 PM. It will work normally on the next day. It only happens from that computer, and only with that site...

To make a successful leader, you don't need an orator these days. You need someone who sounds sufficiently stupid to appeal to enough people as "one of us". I don't think I need to expand further. :P

Well, you don't post all that much, do you?

Incidentally, I'm thinking about something of a oldbie index - postcount divided by member number. Tried it, and TM beats all of course. Interestingly, Alorael is only on place 18, beaten - and this will be tough to some people - by ADoS on number 16.

The cut-off, if I remember correctly, was suggested to be placed at 1, where the postcount overtakes the member number. I'll be there soon... :P

The other ranking I thought of would be postcount / (current maximum member number - this member number), which indicates the rate of posting relative to the rate of new registrations, as well as rocket-start newbies. Eagle wins, an invisible newbie on second place and Kelandon on third. Incidentally, there are only nine members here who posted more than the number of new registrations since they joined. I am not among them, though I'm close.
