Calm down, MM. Calm down. There's no need to constantly gripe about something you didn't deserve but is now deemed irreversable.

Oh, Aran, do you have any new stats yet?

I hope no-one is reading this post with a Blackberry. Some things I never signed up for.

Ben: As it is, the bandwidth load I put on the boards with one count is around 40 MB. Although I heard that ironycentral has unlimited bandwidth (not sure), I'd rather not do this more than once a month. ;)

I do agree with Ben, though. Sorry MM.

Yeah, I don't see why links would take up Irony Central bandwidth. If so, though, you could just to the top 1000 or something. Or we could just wait until next month, I suppose.

Aran's statistics on how many times everyone has posted in all sorts of time frames. I really find them quite fascinating.

I wonder how many posts I average a day. Someone find out for me. Lets pretend I had 1010 with the other account, and whatever I'm up to now. Registration date : Same as TM's or a day after.

The links? I presume you mean to all those various lists? Okay.

List of all members ordered by member number/chronologically (last updated: March 7)List of members with a custom title (last updated: March 7)List of all members ordered by postcount, decreasing (last updated: May 5)List of active members in March/April ordered by postcount difference (last updated: April 21)List of active members in April/May ordered by postcount difference (last updated: May 20)Edit: The last two lists are sorted by postcount increment in that month, not total postcount.
Marlenny, you are on those lists. Except for the first one, which was made before you joined. And for the second, since you don't have a custom title. You were #151 for April, and #141 for May. ;)

MM, you have 1010+19 = 1029 posts, and you registered on September 18, 2001. That is 1345 days ago. Therefore, you post 0.765 times a day. :)

They dont work for me. I'll keep trying, though.

EDIT: They do now.

Also: On the 5th of May, I, according to the list, was on 233 posts. It is now 20 days later, and I'm on 571 posts. Increase of 338 posts in 20 days, or 19.4 posts in them 20 days :P . Total PPD for me: 4.8. At this rate, I'll be at 1142 posts on the 19th of September, 2005. I seriously doubt that, as Harry Potter is released in 51 days.

The release of Harry Potter will likely not affect my post rate. Or if it does, probably only for a day or so while I read it, if my sister is actually going to buy that thing. I know I won't.

A Blackberry is the currently leading palmtop e-mail platform. With reference to some recent veiled exchanges in this topic about cell phones, I cling to the hope that Blackberries don't include a 'vibrate' feature.

I'm amazed to discover I'm outside of the top 100! I was hoping for at least a place inside the top 70...

Since the Blackberry thing has cropped up, does anyone know whether or not it's possible to get on the boards with WAP?

Well, you don't post all that much, do you?

Incidentally, I'm thinking about something of a oldbie index - postcount divided by member number. Tried it, and TM beats all of course. Interestingly, Alorael is only on place 18, beaten - and this will be tough to some people - by ADoS on number 16.

The cut-off, if I remember correctly, was suggested to be placed at 1, where the postcount overtakes the member number. I'll be there soon... :P

The other ranking I thought of would be postcount / (current maximum member number - this member number), which indicates the rate of posting relative to the rate of new registrations, as well as rocket-start newbies. Eagle wins, an invisible newbie on second place and Kelandon on third. Incidentally, there are only nine members here who posted more than the number of new registrations since they joined. I am not among them, though I'm close.

My post count divided by my member number yields a result less than thirty. Maybe the new rating of newbie is your oldbie index? You're only an oldbie if it's over 100?

—Alorael, who would like to know why posts per day has not been a calculation. Is ((current date) - (date joined)) too difficult to automate?

I am number six on this month's list!
That is too high.
I must cut down.

EDIT: Doh!

Oldbie status is like pornography - you know it when you see it.

It will certainly be a while for me.

Seeing the numbers each month - it really doesn't feel like it's been that many posts, but at times it doesn't feel like so few.

If we had better forums all this could be automated. Such as post count posts per day etc.

I have posted exactly 104 times since Aran's last calculation, and, seeing that it's nearing the end of the month, I think I'm slowing down. Or am I? I don't know.

Yeah, PPD would be a good stat because with it, you could approximate when you were going to get to 10,000 and join Alo. Hey Alo, can anyone who surpassed your post count have your sig? :P Or is there no chance of that happening? :P

Ooh, automated forums, there's a good idea too. Someone here should just get to work and program an ideal forum, and then we could all move there and away from UBB. :P
