I didn't say it was better. I never tried it because I don't currently have the time to. I did try Keyhole though, and found out it, as I stated, sucked. If Keyhole is as good or better than this is, then I can save myself the trouble of downloading. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! No, if I remember correctly there are freeware programs that can make PDFs as well. They don't offer the same functionality or editing tools, though. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Sounds a bit... well, badly planned, to avoid harsh words. Characters usually die per previous agreement. I'll wait and watch, but I'm not too confident. Is it sort of like this? Because Keyhole sucks. It doesn't work on most places, and it takes up insane system resources. I'd post my real name results, but there are none. Instead, here are the results for "Arancaytar". Okay, first of all, Riverbend. Not really surprised, considering the way I've been promoting that. It's a very good book. Read it. Second, Vantanas. http://www.geocities.com/arancaytar/maps.html (linking to the page rather than the image because of Geocities) Third, Rosycat. Fourth, finally, me. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! I used to try out stuff in the unregistered version (and occasionally look at towns in other scenarios if they weren't passworded) by importing it to VoDT. It works. It's really exceptionally tedious however, it offers not even a quarter of the fun, and it's definitely more work than it's worth compared to the price. -------------------- Encyclopaedia • Archives • Members • RSS [Topic / Forum] • Blog • Polaris • NaNoWriMo Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. Stories published online are basically acceptable in two different formats. txt, and html. Word documents (or any other more obscure/complex file type) is not only unreadable to many, but may also be unsafe. Besides, the formatting can make them insanely large. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Some day sanity is going to break through inside me, and I'll look at the whole pathetic idiocy of the General forum and the whole pathetic idiocy of myself in it, and I'll scream a primal scream. This computer would be roughly 100 km from here, ie. at home at my parents' house. Of course, that's only the excel spreadsheet, and if I wanted to I could regenerate that from the data that I saved online. But I don't have time now - the only time I have would be during the weekend, and I'm going home then anyways. :P -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Occasionally, Drakey likes to title people in waves, and then he goes by themes. See how my title and Kel fit? If he'd been titling more folks, he might have had "Through the Looking-Glass" or "In a Rabbit Stew" or something. Perhaps Alorael might have liked one of those. But I'm afraid Drakey is refusing to title him by principle. Perhaps someone should just post insanely much until he reaches Your Postliness, at which point Drakey could give Alo a title. Unfortunately, everyone else appears to collect a title around 3000 or earlier, so no one else is going to do that... -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Eagle, at the rate you're posting topics like this, sooner or later Djur (or TGM, if he weren't still banned) is going to come in and steamroll straight over you. I wouldn't be one to say you got it coming, but I definitely would say you should have seen it coming. When you see a huge goat/mango/Gendo/whatever in one of your threads, don't say I didn't warn you. Parody sites: They thrive off traffic. Like them? Link to them. Don't like them? Ignore them. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Actually, they haven't. I can browse them just fine. I had a similar problem with my own site some years ago for which I got a "fake" domain name called http://www.encyclopaedia-ermariana.net.tc . The link would work only occasionally, that's why I stopped using it. Also, there's an edit button. Quoting different posts has apparently been ruled okay, but the third post isn't necessary. :P -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Actually, no. That's the beauty about these ranks: Every month, everyone has an even chance without having to spam more. Gosh darn, I missed the day of my second anniversary here. I joined May Fourteenth 2003, and that is now 2 years and 2 days ago. Since it is also around a month since my last statistics topic, I just figured I'd roll them into one thread. See, I've done another post count this morning, and these are the numbers I've come up with: Since the last count on April 19, 78 members have joined this forum, or 2.79 per day (it was 3.30 last month, so registration has slowed down). Of these 78, 43 have made at least one posts (35 more invisible newbies for Arctic to chew on! :D ). Apart from these 43, 219 old members have posted, so we have a total of 262 active members this month. It was 360 last month, so Spiderweb has been less active this month. The boards have received, in total, 4723 posts (compared to last month's 7576), which works out to 169 posts per day (186 last month), 18 posts per active member (21 last month), or 0.64 per member per day. This, amazingly, is actually an increase as opposed to last month's .52: While there have been less members posting, these members have each posted a bit more. Because this wouldn't be half the fun without some names to make fun of, here are the top ten spammers of April 19-May 16: 1. Thuryl +270 2. Sprung Spring +230 3. Dolphin +228 4. TM +178 5. Kelandon +167 6. Student of Trinity +160 7. Myself +159 8. Alorael +144 9. Ben +141 10. Ash Lael +115 Thuryl, the incumbent champion, has successfully defended his title, even though he has cut back on his posting (480 last month) like everyone else. Other than that, to cut it short, here are the last top ten. Spring, Student of Trinity and Ben have entered the top ten, replacing Holy Toenail, BSC and VCH; the other seven are the same. Alorael gained a place (9 to 8), TM gained two places (6 to 4), Dolphin lost a place (2 to 3), Kelandon lost two places (3 to 5), I lost three places (4 to 7). What do you make of it? Should I post more again or is this just fine? :P [ Monday, May 16, 2005 06:01: Message edited by: 404 ERROR: MONIKER NOT FOUND ] -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki!
