No, Ben must not of read the whole topic. hawk, by what you have described as a spammer (i.e 'posting uselessly') you should have a CANNED title right now. -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Polaris Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

I wouldn't mind a custom title... I miss my Journeyman title though. I am proof that asking for custom title doesn't work. I don't start threads about it, (that generally invites unpleasantness) but I have asked somewhat often over the last several years. Maybe someday I'll actually make a contribution to the community and earn one, as opposed to my history of semi-lurkiness. Or maybe sometime Drakey will be in the mood and give me one. Of course, in such a case I may end up a title that is not necessarily the most desirable, as Drakey seems to enjoy doing that when he is in such moods. However, an argument could be made that having a less than desirable -custom- title is preferable to having a regular title. Is distinction worth an unpleasant title? -------------------- Take the Personality Test! INTJ 100% 75% 100% 44% Huzzah for the Masterminds! www.Keirsey.com for personality information. Some titles don't make sense. With Turumby's title, it says 'For Carnage, Aplly Within' member. Where does member fit in? -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Polaris Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

Occasionally, Drakey likes to title people in waves, and then he goes by themes. See how my title and Kel fit? If he'd been titling more folks, he might have had "Through the Looking-Glass" or "In a Rabbit Stew" or something. Perhaps Alorael might have liked one of those. But I'm afraid Drakey is refusing to title him by principle. Perhaps someone should just post insanely much until he reaches Your Postliness, at which point Drakey could give Alo a title. Unfortunately, everyone else appears to collect a title around 3000 or earlier, so no one else is going to do that... -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! quote:I would take up your idea of posting insanely much, but my Karma will get worse than it already is, and thats not really good. 'Through The Looking Glass' sounds good for a lurker, though. EDIT: quote:I think you misunderstand me. I mean, with most other names, the title kinda makes sense with how it ends. Take Alo's, for example. Bladesmaster Member. The title is able to keep the sense rolling, if you know what I mean. You probably don't, as I havn't really explained properly, but oh well. Adept is a bad word. It reminds me nastily of "efficient". And since I am an artsy-flowery kinda guy, I hate them both. I used to want a custom title, but the feeling passed. Mod-hood is much better, and it gives more power. That said, Mods have "responsibilty" and that stinks, especially online. I'm happy being a nobody, not sticking out... it'll make it easier when the rebellion comes... -------------------- "I am a living sign..." Thus endeth this post. Adept just means skilled, and I don't think anyone, even artsy people, prefer to be inept. Spring, you're misunderstanding titles. The "Member #X" part isn't the title. It's an automatic addition stating, surprise of surprises, the member's number. The title is only what goes before it, and it often has nothing to do with members. Your Postliness Member? A Very Important Date Member? Nuke and Pave Member? Just ignore the members. —Alorael, who gives Spring better odds of being Canned than being Your Postliness within a year. Them's the breaks. I wouldn't say stupid topics about nothing. At least he can write unlike some, who post even worse topics. The kind that really are pointless. I usually find title topics somewhat refreshing and fun. -------------------- "Son--err," her father said, "I mean... Daughter, I give you your first and only sword.
