He's only a novice, so don't go too harshly on him! (even if he SHOULDN'T do this) On topic: No-one knows when A4 will be out, not even Jeff Vogel. Probably about a year or so, but it might get done much quicker, or a cataclysmic bug might mess it up. You can't tell. So just get a different game while waiting. Yay, a pointless thread! Let's all join in and say how pointless it is... yes that is sarcastic. Surely, if you really think the thread is pointless you should just ignore it rather than posting to say so. Or is that too logical? Speaking personnally, I heartily agree that GF3 and A4 are/will be Good Things. Their release for Windoze is eagerly anticipated by me. I don't care two hoots whether or not A4 is inconsistent with BOA scenarios. I take the extremist view that BOA isn't canonical anyway (not even Jeff's scenarios). And I extend this belief more widely, e.g. the Star Trek movies are not canonical; and (only those in the UK will understand this) the Paul McGann TVM is definitely not canonical Dr Who. I want an Avernum 4, a new engine would be nice and I like the character system very much. Theres the story, yes, but oh well. I wouldnt mind a new story or a continuation, I know thats OMG CRAZY, but Avernum is a good game story or not. And anyone who thinks Blade of Avernum scenarios should be canon are nuts.
