Kel brought the Trivia game to my attention, since I hadn't been visiting these boards for some time now. I'm a HUGE movie fanatic, and it just so happens that Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder are two of my favorite actors. So, I got down to business and figured out the connection and told Kel. Then we figured we could alternate between posting the connections one by one if our clues weren't being realized.

I succeeded in solving the connection in 4 degrees between the two, but I won't give it away. ;)

Johnny Depp in "Sleepy Hollow."

This is outright wrong on a factual level. But don't feel obligated to pursue that.

How can an opinion be factually wrong?

Hear-ye, hear-ye, fellow BoA nutcases!

I'm pretty sure that I will be putting together a full scenario for the first time EVER this summer. I have no idea if this will come into fruition, as I have not yet learned scripting (Kel is going to teach me) but I have been messing around with the editor for about a week now, and have a good number of towns, a substantial outdoor area, and a decent storyline down. So yeah, be on the look out. Possibly maybe. :D

Ok another thing.
Besides the fact that the first cutscene with Renhtar Irhno (forigve my poor spelling) is a little too long (the "hmm" for about 3 minutes, etc.), most of the dialogue doesn't even show up. Fragments of the sentences they say pop up, not all of it.

Alright, making my way through. The Persistent Players town is cute, but way too tempting for a party to be overpowerful and overly wealthy. Also, as I'm going through your Maze, I pop back outside of the tunnel and it says "maze Error: Wrong number/type of parameters, line 21."

What's the purpose of the HIDDEN CITY *insert dramatic organ chords* exactly? There are plenty of powerful weapons all the way up to this point. Do you really need to laiden your scenario with more unnecessary items?

Anything else I'll submit to you in a formal beta report.

Thanks, it's all working now.
Ok, first little bug: there's that secret passage way a little southeast from th first bridge you cross. When you reach the end of the passage way (the route that takes you farthest south), it comes up "o4 Error: Unmatched left paranthesis in line 51." Might want to check that out, esp. because I played 8.0 and know where this passage is supposed to lead.

If Micael integrates spawning platforms into UV, I swear to god I will give his scenario a 1.0.

SECOND. Bahs gave me enough trouble with spawners.

Yeah me too, zip file please. One quick piece of advice after playing through about 3/4 of the current 8.0 version: double-check & fix your placement of text at beginning points of combat. I wouldn't get the text bubble saying "Your way is blocked by skeletons and they want to attack you blah blah" or whatever until I had already gone into combat mode (since they attack you the moment you take your first step into a room) and had wiped out 1/2 of the undead group.

joannacw@berkeley.edu
(I'm good for testing now, but if you want to get through some bugs first and have a run through, I'll be a beta tester).

Gah, I totally got dependent on the quest list, too. Kel has told me a lot about Nebulous Times Hence. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a shot...

BTW, went through Cave of No Return for the 2nd time today. If you have 45 minutes to kill and you want to remain in a vegetative state, just run through that scenario. Cures boredom for a moment. Attention span-ache not too bad. :P

And span-ache is an awesome word.

I could very well be deemed a heathen for this, but I actually don't like BoE as much. I started right of the bat with the Avernum trilogy followed by BoA, so it's a possibility I'm a bit biased. I've played a little with BoE and it just didn't take, even with the plethera of scenarios already in existence (I certainly hope that the number of BoA scenarios will match if not exceed BoE's number).
