By "large" battles, I meant the one with that Demon Overlord where there were so many monsters and spellcasters that I had to turn the sound off just to play the game. I enjoyed the others.

I'm working on that fire now.

You can also save a downloaded scenario over VOTD, at least, you could in BoE. You can open the scenario but you cant move at all.

I enjoyed Bahssikava and look forward to your new scenario.

My only hope is that you learned something from earlier criticism and will exclude large battles, like those that detracted from Bahssikava.

Edit: If you'd like and or need, I could work on custom graphics for you when I find the time and patience.

It's impossible to rate overall musicial talent. I know Paul McCartney plays many intruments and writes many great songs, so I'll choose him.

As a fan of guitar I'd probably pick Eric Clapton. Good musicians aren't all commerical though; you can go to any local bar and hear some great music.

Lets take a look at a catastrophic event that will happen:
Remember the devastating tsunami last year? An event a thousand times worse will, no not maybe, will happen in the next thousand years. La Palma, an island in the Canaries, houses an active volcano which erupted in 1949 and formed an enormous crack down the center, which almost resulted in a massive landslide. Rather than fall into the ocean, the land mass stopped after falling just a few meters. Unfortunately this means that future eruptions will eventually send all 500 thousand million tonnes of earth crashing into the sea, causing a mega-tsunami, a wave about a kilometer high moving at supersonic speeds. The wave will wipe out all the coastal cities along the east coast of the US and South America, and by coastal I mean up to 20 miles inland or so. The backlash waves will devastate countries on the other side of the world as well.

If you dont believe waves can reach these heights read about what happened in Lituya Bay, Alaska, July 8th, 1958.

Needless to say, after looking into this topic I can now safely say that I am a hydrophobe.

I remember spamming up the Hint and Exile 2 (when the Exile boards were still separate) boards. I think I joined around the same time as Sullust although I can't be too sure; he exhibited a much more mature behavior than myself. I also remember when MSW joined and pracitcally took control of the Balthazar the Mad RP (the only successful RP I can remember.)

What time period in Europe is the culture based on? By culture do you simply mean names, religion, weapons, and clothing, or do you mean all aspects of European culture, including societal structure?

what the heck is wrong with this script in Blades of Avernum Editor

This is what I have written down:

beginscendatascript;

begindefineitem 450;
clear;
it_name = "Book";
it_full_name = "Foobar's Map";
it_variety = 21;
it_floor_which_sheet = 1014;
it_floor_which_icon = 5;
it_inventory_icon = 6;
it_ability_1 = 207;
it_ability_str_1 = 10;
it_value = 10;
it_weight = 10;
it_identified = 1;

Note: This part is in the scenario script.

beginstate 10;
large_draw_pic_dialog(500,"A map Foobar drew. Somehow you are not surprised.");
break;

I have the picture saved in 400x400 256 color bitmap as G500, in my folder. In the scenario, every time I press the button to call the state, no picture or dialogue comes up. No error appears either, it just says, "Use Foobar's Map."

This worked in another scenario I played around with, but it isn't working here. What the heck is wrong?

In the scenerio a Perfect Forest, the game crashes every time I re-enter the Lost City after slaying the Perfect Spirit. I am using the newest version of BoA. I can just take myself out of the scenerio but I really want to see how it all plays out.

If you are offended by the following jokes I dont really care:

What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?
Nothing, you done told her twice.

What do you call a woman with one black eye?
A fast learner.

What do you do when a woman interrupts you during a sporting event?
Go into the kitchen and shorten her chain.

Yes I know those were awful.

One last joke thats great to tell with your friends. It isn't as funny on paper, but if you've got good timing this will get a large laugh.

Three guys die in a car crash (Usual you and your buddies)
You wind up in a room with three doors. A voice booms out: "(Buddy 1) Go to the first door!"
(Buddy 1) is a bit nervous, he doesn't quite know what to expect. He crosses to the door.
"Open it!"
Grimicing he opens the door and before him stands the ugliest, fatest, meanest woman he has ever seen.
"(Buddy 1) for your sins against humanity, you must now spend the rest of eternity with this woman!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO," (Buddy 1) is sucked through the door, which disapeers in a cloud of smoke.
"(Generally the guy telling the joke) go to the second door!"
I cross over to the 2nd door, I'm nervous, sweating all over, this could be very bad.
"Open it!"
I close my eyes and slowly open the door. I open one eye and almost faint. Another woman stands in the doorway, who makes the woman from door 1 look like a beauty queen.
"(Guy telling story) for your crimes against humanity you must spend the rest of eternity with this woman!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO," I'm sucked through the door, trying to clasp on to anything but to no use. The door vanishes.
Now (Buddy 3) is really nervous. The women just kept getting more and more repulsive; what could be in store for him. He's drenched in sweat and other bodily fluids that escaped in his anxiousness.
"(Buddy 3) go to the 3rd door."
Inch by painful inch (Buddy 3) makes his way to the door.
"Open it!"
Closing his eyes, on the verge of collapse (Buddy 3) barely manages to get the door open.
He slowly opens one eye, and then the other, and the woman standing in the doorway is... Marisa Miller! (Buddy 3) almost wets himself in relief.
The voice booms out, "Marisa Miller, for your crimes against humanity you must now spend the rest of eternity with this man!"

This can be told to women too, just change the characters around a bit. Belive me, when telling this joke, timing is everything.

The 1 Dollar Question in General

You'd have a dollar :)

quote:
I suppose if they do this then they are, indeed, guilty and should not be on this earth. But, although I hate what terrorists have done, I feel that some of them have be fed lies from an early age that compramises their judgement and makes them feel that doing it is right.
Terrorists come from a different culture than the sheltered lives of rich countries like American and the European powers. Complaining about 20,000 dollars a year? Some middle easterners are lucky to make a dollar a day.

Terrorists are probably around for similar reasons there were Crusades. Wealth, honor, and a nice spot in Muslim heaven. Just because you dont agree with their culture, doesn't make it lies. It's what they believe in, and what they're willing to sacrifice their lives for. How can you distinguish their sacrfice from that of the brave American and Ally soldiers in Iraq?

OOC: Hopefully this RP will do better than the others. The last successful one I remember was Lord Balthazar.

----

IC: Glen Byrel was not having a good day. He was not having a good week either, or month, or year, or life for that matter. Glen was constantly plagued with an empty pocket and bad luck. Glen had a habit of ending up with the wrong crowd, and was cursed with the impecable timing of one who shows up in the wrong place at the wrong time; constantly. Glen grew up in a city, pickpocketting for a living. Glen never knew his father, and his mother had died at an early age, forcing him to make it on his own. Life was hard, but, by some miracle or another, he made it through his childhood. After he grew up, honing his talents and being repeatedly arrested, Glen finally found a job at a Thieves Guild. Unfortunately, a few weeks after his employment, one of the Guildmasters was captured by the authorities and executed. The Guild blamed the newcomers for their travesty, claiming a spy had joined the ranks; Glen was lucky to escape with his life. After a few more years of petty thievery, Glen met up with a man at a bar named Berny. Berny was a bandit interested in starting his own guild. He boasted many exagerated victories, and offered many rewards to those who joined him. Glen, being a bit gullible, joined him. After a week or so of stealing from random passerbyers, Glen decided he did not like being a bandit so much, but Berny would not let him quit. Glen's wiry and tall frame could not hope to survive against an onslaught of Berny's muscular build, and so, after a few beatings, he stayed obediant to his master. After a few more days of bandit work, Glen grew used to following Berny's orders without question.

Now Glen stood alongside his current hostage, face to face with a furious man holding a taught bow, arrow pointed at Glen. The random female passerby, he was now firmly clasping, was shrieking in fright like a maniac.

"Shut her up," the man barked.

Glen tried to calm her, but she continued to shriek incessantly.

Berny, who now noticed the man, gave a mighty roar and charged him, but a well aimed kick to the groin and the twanging of a bow pinned the man to the ground indefinitely. The woman instantly passed out.

"Good," the man said notching another arrow to his bow, "I was getting tired of that noise. You know it scared away a prized possession of mine?"

Glen gulped and tried to sound confident, but his voice came out in a mere squeak, "Oh... really? Uh... well..." He slowly backed away.

"I wonder why she was screaming in the first place," the man asked, advancing on the trembling Glen.

"Uh... who knows... maybe shes nuts-"

The man erupted. "I cannot tolerate a criminal under any circumstances! It cost me a catch today, and I doubt I'll see another for a long while! Theres a price to pay, but I'd hate to kill a man without hearing his story. What is your name anyway?"

"Uh... G, G, Glen... and... y...ours?"

"Sullust, but you may call me sir. Tell me, is there any reason why I shouldn't rid the world of another bandit?"

Sobbing Glen fell to his knees, "Please don't hurt me! I didn't want to do anything, but Berny made me! I wanted to quit but he wouldn't let me, and would beat me every time I tried! Please have mercy, I never hurt anyone!"

"Berny? You mean that pitiful excuse for a fighter I dispatched of earlier?" Glancing at the sobbing man Sullust lost his edge, sighing, "Bah! I wouldn't want to waste one of my arrows on a coward anyhow. Get out of here before I change my mind."

Glen scrambled off into the woods, just happy to be alive.

Sullust went to check on the woman.

With the exception of Natalie Portman, Episode 1 and 2 were horrible. I hope we see a lot more action (and Natalie) and less bad/annoying acting. Jar Jar Binks and Anakin, alone, ruined episode 1.
