Hi. Just saw the new avernum 4 game and i made me all nostalgic. So i found my old exile cd and wanted to play exile 1 for a while. I Havent been playing any exile games for a while, so im not totally sure about this, but didnt they have simpler graphics at some point? The 3 exiles on the cd looks pretty much identical and since im playing the old ones pretty much for the nostalica alone im wondering if anyone have a version with oldstyle graphics or if these can be downloaded somewhere to replace the new ones in the updated version.

- Thanks

As far as I know, there are no other versions besides the original Exile series and the newer Avernum series. The Exile series featured 8-bit graphics, and the Avernum series features 16-bit graphics in pseudo-3D style. I do not think there are any versions prior to the original Exile: Escape from the Pit.

{Tempus} jack thompson? ppl actually admire that freak?
{@Fanateeq72802} Not everyone disagrees with him.
{+iris} Someone should send him a few of the more steamy Japanese dating sim games. His head would explode.
{@Fanateeq72802} And I'd laugh. Hard.
{Tempus} im on it. brb

I'm not certain, but I think the terrain is all original. As far as the monsters, all of their standing poses are original and all of their attacking poses were done by Alec, since E2 originally didn't have attacking poses for monsters. I suppose that if you want the true original feel, you can just copy the standing pose into both the standing and attacking slots, though.

Were the original E1 and E2 graphics the same?

Ah the memories. I first played the old version of Exile 2 on one of those Galaxy of Games CDs. It reminds me of the past, and simpler times. Kinda sadnening really.
