quote:I was referring to the actual hardware, ie the video cards and processors. From what I've gathered most people here don't have the newest hardware. Also it's interesting that you mentioned Blizzard not churning out sequels for the extra bucks. Yes, Blizzard has the power to do just that and to make more money than they already are (sales figures for WoW?... wow). Thankfully for those who care, Blizzard is being the better man and making each game the best they can. But yea that new Zelda looks fun. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! The Elder Scrolls are all fantastic games for their type. I love them, but only for a couple days at a time, when I lose interest due to the lack of directed content. Company of Heroes is considered the "it" RTS right about now, and with good reason. If you have the system (I know most of you don't), I really suggest it. If you can suffer through another WW2 RTS, make it this one. Interestinly, it was made by those responsible for the most recent "it" RTS, W40k: Dawn of War. World of Starcraft would work the same way World of Warcraft works. Different setting, same gameplay. A Starcraft FPS would get lost in the crowd (another sci-fi shooter?). In my opinion, the sneaker/shooter was the way to go to get Starcraft out of the RTS genre. I wouldn't play it, but I'm sure many would. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Fallout3 is currently under development over at Bethesda. Don't expect it for a while, though. Also, I don't think it's fair to call the Wii version of the new Zelda a "port". I can assure you Nintendo cares more about the Wii than the GC right now. Starcraft2 isn't here because even Blizzard knows they can't realistically top the original. But I think we'll eventually see it, in many, many years. And Starcraft: Ghost, last I heard, actually is in "development" (I use that term the same way 3dRealms uses). Apparently they felt it would be released too late in the last-gen's life, and wanted it to be up-to-snuff for the next-gen consoles. But I don't care. I'm not interested in another 3rd-person sneaker/shooter, at least within the Starcraft universe. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! There's still no reason for me to wait 10 seconds for the next round. Look at KotoR... combat is much faster and more exciting. That's based off D&D, too. Clarifying Statement: While I appreciate the attempt to stay true to D&D rules, I find it hard to remain patient while all these creatures take their turns at sluggish paces. The AI should be quick enough to make a decision and get it over with, without the standing around. Perhaps it is a nitpicky ideal of mine. I reinstalled NWN recently, but only for single-player. My experiences online were nothing to write home about. And I'm not really looking forward to NWN2, it just hasn't caught my attention. If they speed combat up (as opposed to sluggish pace of NWN1), I might be interested. I'd really like to see a KotoR3, with module-like capabilites. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! If you planned on using the Starcraft assests, then you'll have a nice time trying to convince players they're playing a medival fantasy RPG-inspired conversion. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! I'm currently writing lyrics for a musical project I've had underway for about... 2 weeks. In short, it's a story about a boy and a girl (of course). There's a bit more depth to it, obviously, but I won't disclose that just yet. I've also been coming up with idea after idea for a game project my roommate and I have decided to undertake. The various ideas have mostly been in the fantasy swords-n-sorcery realm, in the shape of a cooperative hack 'n slash through story driven campaigns. I like the idea, but I've recently been toying with the setting, and I think it would be cool to have it set in a pre-KoToR, Star Wars history. I'm talkin' ancient. All this, school work, and friendship drama have left little time for my drawing. Sad, I know. Maybe I'll throw something together later this week to present. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |

quote:Agreed. I chose a PvE server because of past experiences in other MMOs. I like my leveling content to be free of unwanted ganking. If there was an actual point to it, besides senseless murder, I would understand. But... WoW currently lacks that. The world PvP content added in the latest patch is a step forward, but it's still a voluntary thing. I wish Blizzard could find a way to involve PvP without rehashing game modes from Quake3. THAT is why I'm looking forward to WarhammerOnline. There is a real war going on. You can really affect it's outcome. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! To those that play: I had a 60 Night Elf Rogue, a 60 Night Elf Warrior, a 60 Human Paladin, and a 60 Troll Hunter. I considered my rogue as my 'main' character, since he was my first. However, population inbalances being what they were, the troll was the best geared... it was a lot easier getting in a raiding guild when you had little competition. I played on Kargath (a PvE server). My brother still plays, he's a Horde-y on Skywall. -------------------- DEMON PLAY, DEMON OUT! Posts: 1582 | Registered: Wednesday, November 13 2002 08:00 |
