You get +1 AP for fast on feet. You get +1 AP for being Nephil and +1 dex. I think this may go up with level. Thus you start out with 6 AP. With speed bonus items it gets faster from there. Thus two spells and go first. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. Hello all, Sometimes I like to read epic tales, ballads, sagas, etc. I have read the Iliad, Odyssey, Aenaeid, Eddas and a few others. I am going to start on The Tales of Heike which would be the other major clan than the Genji in Japan. Anybody have any epics to recommend out there-- Song of Roland, etc. which are worth reading. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Actually, at higher levels he can cast two times per round unhasted which is a big advantage and go first. I think Nephils get dex bonuses as they go up in level so with this setup your character is very fast. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. I don't think there would be large scale teleportation systems in the capital, maybe near the capital for fear of invasion, and also because the emperor was assassinated by a group of adventurers teleporting in. These would be surrounded by fortifications. Remember these things are powered by magical energy. More likely there would be lots of wards against teleportation inside the capital and some kind of transport system-- maybe like the golem factory-- rolling roads. An inner city which was only accessible to the imperial household and retainers would make sense. I am imagining it would be heavily guarded. I imagine the capital being built on a hill, with the richer districts higher up the hill and the poorer districts lower on the hill. With the trade districts and factories on the outskirts. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. A few more hints. 1) Try to get Morog's Scepter for your mage. It takes care of magic resistant creatures if you have a high magery skill. There are several magery increasing items throughout the scenarios which can boost the scepter to do a lot of damage-- Wizard's Hat in DWTD, and Robes of the Magi. 2) Your mage should try to get Arcane Summon up to level 4 or as quickly as possible. 3) Try to build at least one member of your party with strong alchemy skills-- buy energy potion, and energy elixir recipe as quick as you can. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Here is how I make a mage that is pretty effective. I start out with the Hedge Wizard build, which is evenly divided between mage and priest spells. Then I take the advantages fast on feet and natural mage. This can be augmented with the nephil build. Thus you get a very fast, dextrous mage who can be armored. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Part of the issue with the editor is beta testing. Because there are numerous problems with the different version of windows, and Mac OS the fixes which occur have to work on multiple platforms. Different errors will appear in different versions of windows. Another issue is finishing testing. Right now, most scenarios go through at least three rounds of beta testing-- sometimes four or five. This is partially due to the buggy nature of BOA, it hasn't been around long enough to identify what the common errors are in scripting. Right now for example, I am beta testing two separate scenarios-- Backwater Calls, Lost Basshikava, ( and if it ever moves forward Undead Valley.) So testing is going on for multiple scenarios right now. I think there will be more scenarios available soon. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. In practical terms-- very complex computer roleplaying games teach you to be patient, methodical, detail oriented, to go over everything systematically, to prepare by building up your options, and to finish everything you are supposed to do in order to win. :P -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. There are quite a few "comic books" which are more focused on regular life than you might expect. Recently there have been a whole slew of reporters writing a historical style of comic book. Joe Sacco-- Palestine, Persepolis-- Marjane Satrapy, Stan Mack-- History of the Jews and Cartoon History of the Universe, Berlin City of Stones, etc. One of my favorite artists, P. Craig Russell has done quite a few of the classics-- The Jungle Book, The Ring of the Nibelung, Bluebeard, and The Magic Flute. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. His gestures are very Sunday morning television preacher. They go right for the evangelical crowd. So was the backdrop for his inaugural speech. The steepled fingers, the emphatic fist-- very evangelical. Man of the people type stuff. I'm the man-- el hombre. I think he is speaking to the conservative working class and the religious right a lot of the time. This is not stupid speech, but it is not intellectual either. Think neo-conservative, for those of Spanish or Latin style Peronist, with some echoes of Franco. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. It is a book length-- 60 plus pages long most of the time comic book usually in a large format with heavier binding than a traditional comic book. The beginning of the official designation is with Will Eisner-- A Contract With God (1978). Jack Katz-- The First Kingdom however used the designation before Eisner in his advertisements in 1976. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. There usually is a lot happening after wars are over. First off, there are huge amounts of unemployed soldiers, magicians, etc. wandering around who have to change their livelihood. This leads to banditry, and the formation of fighting schools. Think about the German and Italian gentlemen's fencing schools, the Japanese wandering ronin. Blademaster school, Lightning strike school, etc. You also get various weird philosophies cropping up. This could be represented by back things like a back to nature group that might teach pathfinder and nature lore, etc. Also the government has to find things to do for these people-- send them off as explorers, pretend they are merchants and get them to found companies in foreign lands, etc. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. If we repealed Amendment XXII, for the last election-- Clinton would be in office, not Bush. It cuts both ways 4 terms of Clinton would have been a nightmare for most Republicans. It cuts both ways. There is too much power in the presidency right now. It should be diluted into two positions. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. The situation about food and housing in the world is ridiculous. There is more than enough food to feed everyone in the world. The reason people don't get fed is purely economic greed and commodity brokerage. Farmers in the United States are paid not to produce food, Farmers in India are also paid not to produce food where people are starving. Look at the facts on food production; there is more than enough to feed everybody in the world. However, if we fed everybody, farmers would not make the same amount of money. Two of the most effective ways of making money legal or otherwise are arms production and hard illegal drug production. It pays to kill not feed people. Housing, like food is a commodity. There is enough money to house most of the people in the world. In fact, we would have less people if we housed and fed everyone. People who are not in poverty have fewer children. This is a raw fact. Higher economic status leads to declining population growth. We may not have a choice in the future about keeping people in poverty. There needs to be some concentration of power and wealth to build large scale projects. Inheritance has been the traditional way in which large amounts of money are kept concentrated. Typically, the inheritors of huge amounts of money build large projects outside of governmwent. Give me a better way to handle this and I would agree with it. I haven't seen one yet. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh. Star Bright, Star Light, Oh I Wish I May, I Wish Might, Wish For One Star Tonight. The problem of inheritance is the right of people to own huge amounts of money. There is a thing called leveling mechanisms where the rich are supposed to give a large portion of their money in life to maintain their status. Thus the more you do for others with the wealth that is earned, the less you pay in the end. Inheritance taxes are supposed to spread the wealth, but fail for the most part. There should be a much greater tax credit for good works by the living. People hate them, but we need more Carnegies-- people who help build nations and less Trumps. -------------------- Wasting your time and mine looking for a good laugh.
