You have to show at least the personality of a unsellable trowel before you can appear in the script. I barely qualify. EDIT: You can't really make Dikiyoba make you appear in the script either. Major did it. Look what's happened to him so far. EDIT2: What book am I reading? quote:Actually, I'd say you qualify (though it's up to Dikiyoba of course). Anyone who (at 8 posts) spells right and has apparently mastered Spiderweb humor, fits in perfectly. Having read the Guide is a plus, too. In that spirit: Welcome to Spiderweb, Ghost! I'd say leave your sanity at the door, but you did that already I think. :) ... in fact, you fit in here so thoroughly I'm starting to get the feeling you're an oldbie in disguise. But I'm paranoid like that. Did you try to put the link directly into your aggregator? It's meant to be a gateway page linking to the actual feed (should have made it more clear). I'll change the link to point directly to the feed. The other two (Topic and Forum) actually have to link to subscribe.php because the program needs to work out what Topic or Forum you are coming from. ;) Edit: Sometimes I get some crazy idea and then delve into the topic for hours only to find out what I want to do is impossible. Basically, I wanted to have some kind of content negotiation for the page - the server would see if the user agent wanted an xml feed or an html page, and then return the appropriate content. Unfortunately, it appears user agents aren't very cooperative in that respect. The http "Accept" header is practically useless for this purpose - even Firefox will send the same headers whether it retrieves a Live Bookmark feed or an actual page. So I only have a choice between sending an xml feed directly, or sending an html page that won't work in aggregators. The former is probably the better choice - a human has less difficulty with a feed than a machine has with a page for humans. It's not essential, but it's yet another disillusioning experience about how the web works and how it should. Edit: Won't even work with automatic redirects. Aggregators don't follow them. I can't output the feed directly from the link destination (subscribe.php) because the output depends on the referer - so the address won't work in an aggregator. Ah well. It would've been nice if it worked.
