Not at all what I expected, I must say, but that may be because my friend who looks like you has a relatively low voice. For the record, I heard no noteworthy accent in your recording, nor in Slp's (who must find it difficult to sound more bored than he sounds in his).

Anyone know if there's any way to record my voice with the built-in mic on my iMac G3?

Ben, that was classic. I'm picturing the reaction of a room full of inanely arguing Brits to a grinning child suddenly holding a dead rodent aloft and I'm loving it.

EDIT: For some reason I find that site hilarious.

As am I, obviously. Congratulations once again. I almost wish some flaming newbie would deliberately and repeatedly violate the CoC so we could see you get your mod on...

Your accent and ADoS' are, predictably, typical of what I hear up here on a daily basis. You both sound exactly like I'd imagined.

Stugie, the song link's not working for me. Says you need Platinum to do what you're trying to do and I can't get to the file any other way.

I pour in as much as I possibly can without seriously compromising my ability to carry the bowl to the kitchen table. The more milk left the better, I say, especially if it's in a cereal that gives it extra flavor.

I eat Shredded Wheat (not frosted), Raisin Bran, and variations on the theme of Cheerios on a daily basis. I'd eat Special K if it were ever in my house, but unfortunately, it's not. Great way to kick of (and, sometimes, also complete) any breakfast, in my opinion.

I don't think Grape Slime is intentionally satirizing the election, but he might as well be. =]

Stuggie, I'd say it's an extremely watered-down Western accent. Not extremely remarkable, but it's there. Also, I can understand the "half" part, but the way you say "Stug" sounds more like "Stayg", "Stag", or "Steg".

I don't. I have no problem with save/reload - it just allows a player to be somewhat less cautious and can save quite a bit of time. The other kinds of cheating change the game in ways it was not meant to be changed, though, and to me, that kind of defeats the purpose.

My friend cuts his hair once a year and is in chlorinated water as often as he can manage. His hair is naturally medium brown, but before cutting it a few months ago, it was also various degrees of blond, black, and darkish red. His beard included all four colors. I don't think protein deficiency had anything to do with it, but I don't think the black and red were a result of the chlorine...

t Zeviz: It's not over until his name appears in the (Moderated by... ) line. :P

Your accent is only slightly sharper than I expected. Sounds pretty standard to me, though, of course. The pronunciation of your name kind of caught me off guard, though... I've always thought it was STUGH-ahlf (like Rudolph except the first syllable rhymes with hug).

Oh, I don't know, with the right kind of sauce...

I say Thuryl's appearance suits him. He's a relatively kind, calm kind of guy, and he generally seems pretty content. He looks like he'd get stuff done but without an excessively heavy hand, and he'd be forgiving afterwards, if necessary.

Stuggie, where can I find this famed recording of your accent? I agree that, to Americans, the midwestern accent is hopelessly bland, almost as bad as here in upstate NY. 'Course, from what they've said, that doesn't seem to be the case here...

EDIT: Can we get a link to "The dingoes ate my baby"?

I'd probably be a professional musician of some kind. In reality I'd hate to be a concert pianist, but I'm assuming this isn't reality we're discussing. If it is, I'd rather be an independent rocker.

Aran's a bit thin to be Harry Potter or an identical brother with blond hair, but those glasses are perfect. I'm not sure to whom Alorael is refering, but when I get my pictures back from the "Harry Potter Party" at the local Borders, you'll see he's got nothing on me.

The last topic took long enough and I don't feel like hunting those photos down again. I just had my senior picture taken; I'll post it here when I get it, assuming it's good and this topic's still alive.

Dolphin, I don't know if I've said this but you look almost exactly like a friend of mine. What's that zebra thing behind you in the second pic?

EDIT: Alex, I believe that's the point.

EDIT2: College, Gobsmack? No offense but I wouldn't have put you above your freshman year in high school based on that picture...

Less fun that way, I'd assume. Of course, there is such a thing as taking it too far.

Djur, your motivation is completely reasonable but your method of dealing with it will only make it worse. Regardless of your feelings towards Spiderweb in general, you're better off dealing with this at home, where the problem is rooted, rather than here, where it is reflected. If you care so little for us and have such a low opinion, why do you even bother? You'll have no more luck arguing with Trinity, Salmon and co. than they'll have arguing with you. I'd thought your presence could bring only a refreshing change from the pompous, self-aggrandizing immaturity of Alec and TM, but it seems I may have been wrong. If you are indeed not offended as Thuryl says, then why do you continue in this vein? And if you are truly offended and ticked as the evidence indicates, I can hardly see why. Bit of a double standard you're bearing, there, isn't it? You (including Desp in general) can't expect to receive in return any more than you give.

Congratulations, Thuryl. You've deserved this position for a while and, as much as I like and respect the other mods, I hope it's given to you soon.

Congratulations to the other final candidates as well - you both certainly deserved to be in the final round, and the propinquity of the final vote counts is fitting.

May harsh words be forgiven and friendships mended, now that the election is over; let's not allow the recent hostility (to which I admit I was an active contributor) to create any permanent rifts. What's done is done and what's said is said, so now all that's left for us to do is to move on, pardon our enemies and rivals, and if we cannot go back to the way things were, then let's make the best of it and improve on the status quo. I can think of no better way to acknowledge and celebrate Thuryl's election. Well, no better way that doesn't involve alcohol, anyway.
