Perhaps you have an item equipped which raises Dexterity, or you bought a Dexterity increase from a trainer at some point? -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The scroll doesn't tell you the command for the pedestal; you have to talk to a certain individual in the School to find that out. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Theoretically, you can use scripts to have as many NPCs as you like follow the party around. But they'll still be AI-controlled, and having too many at once will probably slow down the game pretty badly. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! The lava bridge he's talking about is in the Dark Maze, I think. I never found a way across either; if you helped the unicorns, you can bypass the Dark Maze completely. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

You can always get the shroom charm, then kill Morog and steal the scroll. The fight isn't easy, but shouldn't give you too much trouble if you prepare properly beforehand and she doesn't decide to go on a massive summoning spree. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I don't remember what the reward was for helping Jaen, but it certainly wasn't Prismatic Plate. I think it might have been Mithril Chain Mail, actually, which is still pretty good. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! I think Alec's referring to the fact that Mel Gibson's making money off selling crucifixes and other religious paraphernalia as part of a merchandising deal related to the movie. -------------------- I believe there are 15 747 724 136 275 002 577 105 653 961 181 555 468 044 717 914 527 116 709 366 231 425 076 185 631 031 296 protons in the universe, and the same number of electrons. -- Sir Arthur Eddington Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Losing the Unicorn Call if you use it twice in a day seems to be a bug in the scenario. I don't think you can get it back, as it's a scenario-specific custom skill. As for Morog's treasure, I got back out using the fight/end combat bug (end combat and you'll sometimes be moved a couple of steps forward, even past a special encounter). I'm not sure what the "correct" way to do it is. [ Saturday, April 10, 2004 03:44: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! They're both pretty tough. Sharpshooter requires 8 levels of Bows. Parry requires 6 levels of Defense. Quick Action requires 8 levels of Dexterity. Not sure about the others. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

All of them? It's not like prostitution is run by a union, let alone one that can afford to pay people not to work for 40 days.

There's one piercing crystal and one dispel barrier scroll in the scenario. This should be exactly enough to break the 2 barriers you need to break. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

It is indeed possible to have too much plot; confronted with screenfuls of text, many players will simply skip over it. This is bad, as it often leaves the player not knowing what to do next. (The "Current Quests" list in BoA is a very, very good thing, and something which was lacking in BoE.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! You should still be able to side with the Empire after doing that mission. I was. (Mind you, I was on the Empire's side all along. The Hill Runners themselves admit to being a ruthless bunch, and unscrupulous revolutionaries tend to become unscrupulous leaders.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Changing all your ratings every time a brilliant new scenario comes out gets more difficult once you've rated 20 or 30 scenarios. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Your article reads to me as if you're discouraging designers from attempting to create complex characters with multiple motivations, instead suggesting that all of a character's actions in a scenario should be based around a single goal. Was that your intention? -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Attacking a friendly monster with missile weapons doesn't appear to be noticed as a crime. The hapless victim of the attack (who does become hostile) can then be murdered with impunity, without angering the town. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
