You can't, but there are several Shattering Crystals in the school, which do the same thing. Don't waste them.

It depends what you mean by "based on". It's not a Unix in the strict sense, but it's derived from something which itself was derived from something which is arguably a Unix.

I peeked after completing the scenario; looks like there's just an empty 1x1 room behind it. So no, it's not worth building up obscene amounts of Tool Use just to open that door.

There's an undead crypt in there, which is probably the source of the howling. If I recall correctly, you can loot a nice dagger from it.

I find that I'm building up spell levels significantly faster than I'm learning new spells. Having only one spellcaster is annoying sometimes (although once he's hasted I find I don't really need more spells than I get), but having 3 fighters is certainly nice.

I'll probably give one or two of my fighters a few points of bow skills eventually, but the trouble with archery is that I never remember to use it.

You don't see Macs in stores because Macs are, for the most part, only sold by licensed Apple retailers.

And sometimes, standardisation is better than competition. I'd rather have a computer that's expensive due to lack of competition but that works well, to one where all the parts are at a competitive price but the thing crashes all the time due to hardware incompatibilities. Competition in the computer industry is like competition in the road-building industry: if half the roads in a city require you to drive on the left side of the road and half the roads require you to drive on the right, there are going to be a lot of crashes.

The controls were changed in Av3 to make them less counterintuitive. The behaviour you describe is not a bug. Sorry.

Nothing, but type A and B attack each other. Which is useful if you want to set up a fight involving two groups that are hostile to the party but also to each other.

I had an old TV's CRT blow up on me once. There was a pop, the picture shifted to one side and got vertical lines of weird colours running through it, and then the whole thing turned to static. There was a smell, too, and an awful one, but it sure as hell wasn't ham. I didn't stay around long enough to ascertain what it reminded me of -- there was white smoke as well, and the whole scene seemed vaguely carcinogenic.

I'm using 3 custom fighters (2 melee, 1 pole; one of the melee fighters has Tool Use built up) and a Hedge Wizard (on whom I build up Mage and Priest spells about equally).

Hmm. Do you have the latest version of CarbonLib installed? It may not help, but try getting that before redownloading (you should be able to find it on apple.com).

Eww, I hate organic solvent smells: markers, petrol, new paint, etc.

I like the smell of most foods, even foods I don't actually like eating.

Well, there's always Pygmalion. If and when it's released, it'll use Python-based scripting.

The trouble is that to make a rich world, you have to make it big. This is why the Exile series isn't so glaringly flawed as the BoE scenarios; it has enough scope to add in plenty of background without distracting. In a small scenario, it's hard to prevent the extraneous details from feeling either tacked on (if only one or two are added) or crowded in (if too many are added). It can be done, but it requires subtlety, which, frankly, Jeff isn't that great at.

How easily can you upgrade a Mac? Is it like in Windows, where you just put in the PCI/AGP/ISA card, Hard Drive, RAM, etc... and install the drivers, or is it more difiicult, or what?
With a Mac, you often don't even need to install the drivers (although this is less true than it used to be, thanks to the proliferation of third-party hardware.)
