Fun fact: in the sport of falconry, for a falcon to "bate" is for it to flap its wings wildly. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Don't feel too bad: I keep reading the "Explore Mars Now" topic as "Explode Mars Now". Which would be a pretty cool thing to do, actually, but ultimately unproductive. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

"Kinky bits", or some variation thereof, is a relatively common term for those particular regions of the anatomy. If you're wondering what the word "kinky" has to do with anything, well... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kink [ Monday, October 24, 2005 23:01: Message edited by: Thuryl ] -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! There's a room in the southeastern area of the castle, fairly close to where you met him the second time but a little further east. It's possible that you already visited it before triggering the second encounter with Vahkohs -- visit it again afterwards to trigger the third encounter. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Of all the presents I've ever received, the one that meant most to me was a knitted woollen sheep. I'm not entirely sure whether that gift will work equally well for all people under all circumstances, though. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! It's possible for any application to be infected with a virus. I find it highly unlikely that the source of that virus was SW, though. It's even more unlikely that your saved games could have been infected -- viruses normally only infect application programs. (And the most common malicious programs these days tend to be worms rather than viruses, and therefore don't infect other files at all.) Even if somehow your copy of a SW game had become infected with a virus, redownloading should get you a clean copy. (Provided, of course, that the virus has been completely removed from your hard drive.) -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! This site uses the term "liberated" to refer specifically to games which were once commercial and are now freely available. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Abandonware isn't legal. A copyright is not released into the public domain until it's explicitly released into the public domain by the copyright holder, or until a very long time after the death of the copyright holder (usually around 50 to 100 years, depending on where the copyright holder lived.) The fact that the copyright holder has stopped selling or supporting the product does not mean that it's legal to acquire it from another source. "What you can get away with" is not equivalent to "legal". Just so you know. (Obviously, there are a couple of exceptions where the copyright holder has released the copyright, such as Ultima IV or Star Control II. Those games are perfectly legal to acquire wherever you can find them. But they're exceptions, not the rule.) That's odd; normally you can leave items lying around anywhere and they'll be safe. You must have left an awful lot of stuff lying around for it to start disappearing. As a general rule, try not to leave more than 50 items in one area. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

You don't have to fight the shades in Crystal Caverns. Don't take the crystals if you can't handle them. The ones in Stinking Marsh are just plain hard. If you're having trouble, avoid the area for now and come back later. Once you're powerful enough to take them on, you really shouldn't be letting them survive long enough to attack you -- if you're an Agent and you're getting hit, you're losing the fight. That's just how Agents play. If you don't like that style of play, play a Guardian and abuse the Parry skill, or play a Shaper and wall yourself in with creations.
