I've never hit the limit for items in a zone, despite being a major pack rat. And before you ask, yes, I set up one rather huge cache. However, I have found a limit to how much stuff you can drop on a single space. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Gymnastics is a skill similar to dexterity, only (I think) a little more powerful, and doesn't count towards your base level in other skills. I actually find it quite useful, especially in melee. My personal preference is to buy 5 levels per character from her; it's expensive, I know, but afterwards, I rarely get hit in hand-to-hand or by missiles. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Fun's fun, but a challenge like that, to me, sounds more like a study in masochism. I thought it was tough enough that I prefer to play the Avernum games on torment with a full party, and give everybody "Cursed at Birth" and "Completely Inept" character traits. By the way, does "every quest" include the job boards? -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Probably both, methinks. Then again, I don't have the registered version of A3, and I usually finish E3 by about day 80 or 90, so I can't say how far it goes. My guess is that there are events all the way to the end of the time limit. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. I know what you mean; even with a job, I still have to save money in order to be broke. I'm currently scraping up the funds to buy the GF trilogy CD myself. You could try to repair the crystal cave. Or maybe take on the bat cave. The undead around Mertis could be fun. There are some sliths on the islands south and southwest of Cotra. quote:Actually, I think the editor can easily bring Athron back to life, or is that just in E1? quote:Here's a spoiler for you: If you really want to steal a dragon's treasure, wait until you get the registered version. I've never heard of Real Arcade, nor that any other site sold G2 or any other of Spiderweb's games. When I buy any of their games, I buy them directly from Spiderweb, and I always get it on CD. quote:Probably. I suggest you make backups first, just in case. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. And I know I'm not crazy because the little man who lives on my shoulder told me so. I've never won an entire game as a singleton either, but I've come fairly close to defeating Grah-Hoth. I've never tried torment in any game, so I can't comment on what it's like. However, I have played A1 all the way through with both Cursed at Birth and Completely Inept character traits on all my PCs. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. To answer your questions: Yes (especially G1), and yes. I always make backups, yet for some weird reason, the game still crashes, even after I put the files back, and reinstalling seems to be the only way to get the game back to normal. (Fortunately, my save files remain intact.) Believe me, I've tried everything else that I can think of. I've long since come to the conclusion that since I already do fairly well without those scripts, I don't really need them. Hence the maxim: If it's not broke, don't fix it. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. Touche! :D :D However, I only use in-game cheats; for some weird reason, the script cheats crash my game, forcing me to reinstall. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. True enough, and I don't even try it until there's really nothing else left for me to do on Greenwood Isle. Then again, as I've said before, I don't have the registered version yet, so I can't really do much past the eastern half of Harmony Isle. Therefore, my character can't get very strong anyway. -------------------- Either I'm crazy, or everybody else is nuts. An Ur-Glaahk? Lucky you. All I can make are a couple of cryoas, maybe a thahd or two, and not much else. Try taking on those golems with that, and you'll see how I have to do it. That, in a nutshell, is why I cheat. And for the record, I prefer playing as a singleton Shaper. Since I don't have the full version of the game (and therefore can't make much in the way of support), I usually cheat to complete the bracelet. You might want to try the maps at this link. The maps are of Exile, but should also be useful for navigating most of Avernum. Overall, I'd say those are good choices. I just don't bother using my soul crystal out of practicality; with my magic-heavy playing style, I need all the spell points I can get. quote:Yeah, I noticed a few attempts at topic necromancy with this thread. I'm not complaining, though, because it might be useful should I decide to use a crystal soul. edit: added quote, and a response to it.
