Does luck really save lives at the GF series as well? I never noticed it. I thought that was just Avernum's domain. -------------------- USA is evil! Europe is bust! Wars are elsewhere! Unity is a must! Posts: 185 | Registered: Sunday, June 4 2006 07:00 |

Well since i tend to play an agent/servile/infiltrator where your shaping skills are very weak, i usually choose fire creations. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I just like drayks the most, they're cheap and quite reliable and since i always play as a rebel and drayks are the founders of rebellion, ... Sometimes i wish, you could really start as a drayk in a GF game ... -------------------- USA is evil! Europe is bust! Wars are elsewhere! Unity is a must! I believe that in G5 all the more powerful artefacts should be crafted and a few maybe found and awarded - but very few. I think it'd go well with the story where there's an all out war and a huge destruction (even weapons and armour shattered). -------------------- USA is evil! Europe is bust! Wars are elsewhere! Regarding abilities - a lot of them are pretty identifiable by their name and some even have the descriptions. And i believe it is just reward_give(38) without the ,1 part. And well done for the melle-turned-to-missle weapons - i always wondered why missle weapons don't have enchantments in Geneforge series. If they had, it'd be much more fun to use them. -------------------- USA is evil! Europe is bust! Wars are elsewhere! Unity is a must! Posts: 185 | Registered: Sunday, June 4 2006 07:00 |

I believe you can also get it with high enough leadership from Norrel. Or by high enough mechanics or a load of living tools. But anyway, if you've almost completed a game, i think you shouldn't bother with that door. All the stuff behind it has outlived it's usefulness by where you are now. Of course I could be wrong! Well, do you get any warning that you can't drop anything anymore - i believe it was in E2 or A2 in Olgai that i saw such a warning i believe, but i'm not sure. And also what about putting things in crates, barrels, cabinets etc. Does that also count towards the limit? Finally - do you really think it is 200 - isn't that a little low - i mean, with all the sticks and such lying around ... Ps: Is there any order in which the things start to disappear? -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way! Posts: 185 | Registered: Sunday, June 4 2006 07:00 |

Magery indeed works for both types of spells and seeing you're in a3, you can get an unlimited amount of it - just remember, sometimes it's better to give than to recieve :) As for the drake - it indeed teaches you the blademaster skill - and i believe if you return when you have the money - since again you can have unlimited money in a3, this shouldn't be too much of a problem - and you'll be taught again - three time as i believe, but my belief is not very strong here :) . -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way! After you leave them you CANNOT rejoin the awakened. And the augmented drayk leaves you when you join another faction - as stupid as it is, he is still loyal to the takers, as he really believes that no harm will come to him/her. -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way! Hmm As far as I remember, your overall level doesn't affect if youcan learn a spell or not, it's just a level of a spell you know it at that matters! The trainers can teach you two levels of a spell regardless where you buy it, so if you already learned two levels of a spell at one trainer, the other one won't teach it to you. As for X, I think that he doesn't teach you dispel barrier, but tells you to go upstairs and learn it - I also had difficulty finding it, so be thorough. As for getting beat up, I think that weapon damage is calculated differently than in previous Avernums, although I'm not sure, all I know is that a weapon that does 1-4 damage is better than the one that does 10-20 damage if you have some skill with the weapon type. For example if you have 6 Archery (which is by the way finally very powerful in A4) and 6 Sharpshooter you will do average (4+1)/2 + (4/1)*(6+6) = 50,2 damage with the first bow and (10+20)/2 + (20/10)*(6+6) = 39 damage with the second one as I figure. I'm not sure this helps, but I hope it does at least a little. Well, for better to-hit chance of a creation, as far as I remember from experience and descriptions, you have to add more points to its strenghth, not dexterity, as the latter only improves its chances to dodge. Edit: 1) And I think that in terms of leadership 12 is enough for everything, but I'm not sure - if you're really desperate to know, you can check every get_stat(20) statement in the scripts. 2) About factions, try joining the one you agree with most and stick with it (switch only if the you find any other one who has better views). For example, you said you joined the awakened. Stick with them if you joined them for a reason, it really is harder, for they are not as powerful, but in the end, you have a nice feeling of satisfaction that you helped the nice serviles who only want peace and rights they deserve. Well, but isn't everyone Imban? So all know who ICEM is, for everyone is ICEM who also is Imban! So ICEM is everyone and Imban in the same person. Whew, that must be tough. And now to the topic. What's the topic again? Philosophy can really drain a person. Ah yes, the only one to ever see me playing a Spidweb game (or any game for that matter) are my parents and my fiancee. Parents don't care much for games and she bought me Geneforge 4 just so that she'd have a few hours peace . Hehe, just kidding, but she really did buy it for me and she said they're all nice. So I've been having only the positive experience with the people's reactions to the games! -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way! I used to have it till like less than a year ago. But anyway, I think that a least in A and E series, the sounds inside the game make for way cooler an atmosphere than any music'd make. Don't you think it's even hazardous to play loud music in the underground. quote:Or he could release sort of an easteregggame, where you'd start as an ornk trying to outrun a hungry servile with a knife and in the end deciding whether to aid the serviles in their holy quest to reshape all the ornks to have purple skin and give chocolatte milk or the rebellion under the Arch Ghaldornk who really have no idea why they are rebelling (They're as intelligent as cows, for crying out loud!). Actually here in Slovenija we have a saying that I sadly don't know it's equivalent in English, but it goes somewhat like "Good merchandise flatters (or something like this) itself." Edit: To the only officially intelligent person here (he has a Ph.D. :) ): I was trying to sound like a child. Well, I know what you mean - it took me ages to find a nice party for the trilogy, but a couple of weeks ago there started reports of sightings of a mysterious quartet consisting of a slith couple; a warrior (pole weapons obviously) and a mage; that teamed up with a nephil sharpshooter, who also uses melee weapons decently, and is led (the party) by a renowned slith cleric Assotho, who specializes in priest spells, but has recently started to use pole weapons and mage magic, all over the known and less-known lands of Avernum. Merely months later, the Empire-Avernum war ended. Edit: Oh and sorry i should stick to the topic - all the sliths are around 2 meters tall, a nephil is a couple centimeters higher. And NO!!!!! THIS IS NOT MAKE-UP ON ASSOTHO'S NOSE, HIS NOSE IS PERFECTLY OK, OK?! DON'T EVER ASK ABOUT IT AGAIN! What is it with all you Spidweb-games-don't-have-any-music!-I-think-I'm-just-gonna-die! crybabies. Why do you need music in an adventure game like this. I mean, imagine some Rambo or any other (silly, but still good for illustration) action movie character walking around and shooting enemies wearing a discman or an mp3 player ... Well, come to think of it, it'd be somewhat cool when the batteries'd run out when he was in the middle of a huge crossfire and he'd stop the war for a minute to replace them. And furthermore: Jeff said that G5 is the last of the G games. I think that's a very good news. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the games very much, but i believe the story has gone far enough and remained very very nice for the whole time and anything else would just ruin the fun. -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way! I know it is a derail of a topic, but in my opinion the gf3 PC is the founder of the Trakovites and showing that Greta and maybe even Alwan don't want to talk about him/her is the proof that they partially sympathise with their cause - well at least Greta seems as such sometimes. -------------------- I don't care what you say, I'm punk and Hardcore all the way!
