It's really short, but I think you will like it. Get it here. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

Well! I, for one, am appalled that you would plagiarize Dallerdin's work in this manner! :P -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

Having never played it, I did not realize the similarity. I feel dumb now. I must point out, however, that mine is shorter. Let's hope he doesn't go after me like Alcritas went after Solberg. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

Oddly, though you used fewer newline characters and has a shorter name, your version is actually 22 bytes larger. I somehow doubt that Dallerdin will feel a strong need to defend his intellectual property, though. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Hmm, that's strange. I erased all of the scripts as well. I only left the scenario script and the .bas file, and shortened the scenario script, getting rid of all the comments. Is there anything else I can get rid of? -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

You could take out tabs, and I think Dallerdin got his to work without putting in the START_STATE; if you do both those things I think you can shave off about 35 bytes. However, if you make the only town be a 32 by 32, it looks like you can cut off almost 6K, and that would put you far ahead in terms of lowering overall size. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! Sorry, Ephesos. I am working on a real scenario, but this struck me as a good joke. Unfortunately, it seems someone else beat me to it. -------------------- "As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it." --Albert Einstein -------------------- Posts: 536 | Registered: Sunday, September 7 2003 07:00 |

Oh, yeah, the windows editor won't let you change the size of a town. I guess I really need to get to work on my windows port. . . in my plentiful spare time. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

...you know, I would've given it a 0, but the CSR scale stops at 1. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |
