You're welcome... :) And yeah, Assassins are indeed not much compared to the Dark Shade of Venom (especially since you can't kill it right now). I think the Red Shade of Hatred is even worse, though.

Hint : Once you find yourself in the city, 'hug the wall' until you reach another stairway (this path does not involve getting noticed by the Dark Shade of Venom or by the Almarian people), which will take you to another part of the sewers. Here you'll find a path that will take you out of Almaria. You'll have to fight a bunch of Assassins, though.

Whoa, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info, EDIT : Infernal666hate. Whoops. I got you and Inthrall mixed up. Although I'd probably still tell her first, first because it's a bit more honorable, second because Spire already is quite easy to destroy, so let's not make it any easier, shall we? ;)

25 nature lore, in fact.
With the Heartstriker bow, I was able to do more than 100 damage to some enemies such as mutant lizards, and I could do 30-50 damage to some very tough enemies.

Gee, I actually thought Spray Acid to be quite useful in Avernum 3 against some tough enemies. Especially if you want to try to kill Erika, just for fun. :D (Spray Acid works very well against her)

Also, Spray Acid is the spell against undead in A4.

Puresteel Soul Blade? in Geneforge Series

The Puresteel Soulblade is in the Monastery Caves. One of the Shambling Rothbeasts drops it. And by the way, fighting the rothbeasts can be very very difficult.

(Try checking Schrodinger's FAQ for the stats)

Wait till you get the Heartstriker Bow (the Ebony Bow an Eliavri's Bow are good too). I used a slith halberdier and a nephil archer, and when I got the Heartstriker, my nephil archer did more damage than my slith halberdier. The Heartstriker Bow seems to be the most powerful weapon in the game.

I Guess I Just Don't Get It in Geneforge Series

It's been a long time since I played Geneforge 3, but I remember how I won this battle. I used Alwan and sometimes Greta to destroy the worms, and I used approximately four fyoras to destroy the Creator, I think. I never used the Daze spell against the crawlers, since they sometimes resisted the spell. Instead, I kept destroying them as they appeared. And by the way, an essence pod may help, since you're likely to have to use healing spells. EDIT : And blessing spells, too. A tip : try not to have Alwan attack the Creator, or he'll probably 'die' in no time.

EDIT : And I was playing as a Shaper.

I voted for Geneforge 1. I thought it was quite easy to play, compared to other Spidweb games (not than I can't enjoy a hard game; Homeland was quite hard at times, and I loved it). It was also less repetitive than some.

Summonable Monsters in Blades of Avernum

By the way, I think that there are a few monsters that you cannot summon in the pre-made scenarios unless you cheat (because the spell level you need to have for Arcane Summon is so high that you could only get it in a third-party scenario). I think this applies to Dark Wyrms, Pack Leaders, and Drake Lords.

The shade shouldn't be able to kill the priestess in one blow, which should give you enough time to distract it. Still, if it attacks her too quickly, keep casting haste on the priestess and slow on the shade. Haste yourself too. If it still attacks the priestess and she hasn't enough time to summon shades, try sacrificing your warriors. This will give her some more time (and I think she may be able to summon more shades if there are less members in your party).

Kelandon : Thanks for the info. I suspected TM had done it, but I wasn't sure whether he cheated or not.

Well, I got the shade down to 1 HP without cheating in the demo. Not sure if anybody else had tried it before. Basically, I tricked the Black Shade into entering the Temple. I then hasted the Priestess, who summoned Divine Shades and Vengeful Shades. I hasted those Shades too, and then kept pounding the Shade with repel spirit, bolt of fire, and acid spray. I would have killed were it not for the fact that it is completely unkillable until you get the onyx scepter (its healing spell only restores a limited amount of HP, all you have to do is damage it faster than it can heal). Oh well, at least I know there's a trick to kill it if I ever have problems beating it in the full version.

Hmm, I never really thought of it as cheating... In fact, it seems somewhat logical... When the main character equips a certain magical item, magical powers pour into his/her mind and tell him/her how to to make a drayk, then when it is taken off, the main character suddenly has amnesia and can't remember how he/she did it. Or maybe the main character just needs this item as power enhancement, whatever. Anyway, since the creation was fully made, it doesn't disappear when the item is taken off.
Yes, I know this may sound lame. But seriously, I think it's part of the gameplay.

-Question 1 : That's not really a poll question, more of a test question. I'd say 70+, though.
-Question 2 : I don't understand this question.
-Question 3 : This question is a waste of time.
-Question 4 : In fact, the whole poll is a waste of time. :P

This thread remembers me of the thread that was created by TGM on Desperance. Yeah, it was about Rosycat, but still, these two topics are awfully similar. Next thing you know they'll start posting pics of nude tentacle monsters.

Oh yes. I still remember when I started playing Geneforge. I really sucked and kept getting killed. Months later, I replayed the game as a Shaper, used the Guarded Bridge and Patrol Bridge to cross the river (I used artilas for the guarded bridge and vlish for the patrol bridge. It was very difficult, but I succeeded). I then got to the crypt as soon as possible, finished it (keep in mind I did it quite early in the game, so it was hard), and then finished the game without much trouble (Danette's belt helped a lot). Even the Front Gate and the Guarded Docks weren't too hard.

Geez... I wonder how many characters are going to be alive at the end of this script. Maybe none. :P

By the way, I love the part where Aran falls through the mirror.

(And wow, I'm dead. Now all I have to do is learn how to draw a comic strip so I can have my revenge... )
