I feel so... unexperienced. Only five, three of which were spidweb games.

Question to the ones who ticked rogue or rogue-like: Have you really "finished (i.e., played most of)" the game? I only have experience with Adom, but that one at least is nearly impossible to finish without resorting to cheating.

Have you tried hitting 'Ctrl+F12' a lot of times? It tells dosbox to simulate a faster computer.

Wow, TV... Brings back a lot of memories. I used to play it with a cheap joystick with a throttle switch (the only game I played with the thing). It was damn good fun. I must have finished the game two or three times.

Citizen of Exile, citizen of Exile... uh-huh, uh-huh. (Does a little dance)

I wonder why the typos in Kelandon's lines are the ones that stand out most?

Well, it's a bird. I picked it after wanting to get rid of the last pdn which I picked when I wanted to get rid of the previous one.

Redstarts were sometimes seen around my childhood home. Since the current hellhole I live in only has sparrows, magpies and crows flying around, I kind of miss the more colorful set of birds we used to have back home. Hence the name.

Also, I kind of like the fact that most users in this board have most likely never heard of the bird, much less seen it.

Are you implying that I'm in horrible shape and couldn't outrun anyone for very long? ...You're right.

Huh. Guess I didn't die at the hands of a random noob. I like being wrong.

I got a cameo! And I haven't even posted in this thread! Huzzah! ...Now to sit back, and wait for my death at the hands of some random noob.

And since I started posting...
quote:
Act 7, Scene 6 said:
Kelandon: Oh my god! They killed Smoo!
Doesn't this line alone mean that Smoo will be seen fighting along the rest of the spidwebbers in a later scene, with noone paying special attention to the fact that he should be dead?

Linking to pages like that can give impressionable people ideas.

Har, har, har! There's no humor like old humor! (Points at bottom of own post)

Anyways, I was going to say "where's the harm in enabling html?" but then I read further in the forum. I guess the wrong kind of people would be getting the ideas.

For my first ten posts or so I stayed in the BoA and BoA editor forums, during which I got no ratings. After this, I started posting on general. The results are visible to the left. I believe I got most of my votes from early Ed sympathizers and from posting in the previous karma topic. Anyway, the moral of the story is: if your karma matters to you, stay out of general.

Edit: Sig test, sig test.

This has been mentioned before, but I guess it needs to be said. The board only updates the name in threads where the member posts with the new name - or edits one of the older posts.

Yes, I'm afraid I do. You see, I've been brainwashed by tv. Since Finns only use subtitles in foreign tv, and American tv is quite prevalent here, I've come to see American English as the real form of English, and all other dialects as quirks and oddities to study. I suppose this is fuel for the anti-globalization people as well: Oh, how I am corrupted by the American culture, and have (apparently) lost the desire to wear idiotic national costumes and eat unnourishing, foul tasting national cuisine! Woe is unto he who is me!

On an entirely different matter, name change. This one is following the bird theme I had going on earlier. (As to not confuse anyone, here's my name development so far: Proud Owner of: -> Who's Nathan Ashby -> Early Bird -> Redstart.) I suspect I'll stick to this one for quite a long time. I kinda like it.

Congrats Aran. And you got rid of the Alice-reference for a custom title too. This new one seems to hold great promise.

Oh. Right. I was just confused because TM was the one laughing. So I guess he was just happy to see others suffer. And the savior thing was just to describe his appearance in the comic (I certainly don't believe you're any sort of canine either).

I don't get it. Was it something Slartucker the dog said that caused combustion, or was TM the savior just being cruel?

Super. Well, I'll still make my suggestion. Magmadragoon is right about the mod having to be from outside the U.S. Full coverage on the topic bannings, man. With this in mind, I nominate Arancaytar - that is, if a newb such as myself has saying in this pretend election.

Hmm. It would seem that fictional Thuryl is with me on this one. (Act 6, Scene 6)

Farewell Thuryl.

Your absence from the boards will be felt, but I'm sure this was a choice you did not make lightly. Hope to see you back some year.

Okay, so I was assuming a bit.

Still: Hate? Remembering that he's an eleven-year-old (±3 years) kid? Seems like such a strong word to use for someone, who I'd see as a nuisance at worst. (I'm assuming he's not an oldbie troll.)

Well, okay I take the hate comment back. Ed: Apparently some hate you, others don't.

(This is my last post addressing anything involving Ed, I promise. I realize this is getting old.)

(Takes a very deep sigh)

Ed, no one here hates you.

The thing is, as has been mentioned so many times before, that you tend to lean towards spam an awful lot. Also, you seem to get insulted about the slightest remarks, and retaliate with insults. It's doing either of the above that irritates the other members, and might cause them to speak out. Think before you post, and only post on topics you feel like you have something relevant to add to. You've had a very rough start but if you really want to fit in, tone down the posting.

I'm certain no-one wants you to leave. Even with your current style of posting, you provide the boards with much of both drama and comedy.

If you decide to leave, farewell. I wish you luck in figuring life out. But please, try not to post a farewell topic once a month.

And I say this with as much love as possible.

Excellent, now I can drop the Ashby-like name. This new one is kind of a spur of the moment.

At any rate, welcome back. As I'm sure you noticed, some people went a little funny in the head after your banning.
