Listen to the biologist. A biologist is basically the same as a med student, which is exactly the same as a doctor. A doctor!

Well, it is in the case of this particular newspaper. They've usually steered clear of the traditional tabloid material.

This was actually covered by the largest local newspaper here. On two separate occasions, and the second one with photo and all. That's either a sign of the media going completely populist, or that she was an important character somehow. I'm guessing the former.

I can't believe how easy this is. I registered the account at Photobucket just minutes ago, and now I'm uploading slightly less presentable images of yours truly. We'll see, maybe I'll censor this tomorrow. Probably not though, seeing how lazy I am.

Oh right, the reason for uploading the picture is obviously my new glasses. See how I look completely different than before?

Speaking for the Finnish school system, yes we too have exercises on converting metric units into others (e.g. decimeters into kilometers, hectares into km2, litres into dm3 etc.)

As someone who has lived his entire life with the metric system, and only having to deal with Imperial units in the media, I see absolutely no problem with using them. Still, when posting on American forums, I like to be polite, and say I'm 5'10" tall, rather than 179 cm. Even though that always takes me a minute or so to convert.

Edit: Decimeter is spelled with a 'c'? Okay, changed that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can manage that deadline. I'll judge, if only you'll let me.

I have BoA, and I've finished five and played six of the eight scenarios that have made it to the final round.

Also:
log(x)+log(y) = log (x*y)

EDIT: dammit, Alo did this one already. I'm useless.

Ah well, here are the answers to the questions above. No peaking before you've tried them yourself, and so forth. One thing about my answers: I use the line | to separate the formula from different rules and other types of manipulation I apply to the formula. It's pretty common in Finland, but from what I've understood, not necessarily used abroad.

29. 2log{3}6 - log{3}4 | x log y = log(y^x)
log{3}36 - log{3}4 | log x - log y = log (x/y)
log{3}9 | log{x}y = z <=> x^z = y
3^x = 9
3^x = 3^2
x = 2

31. log{4}40 - log{4}5
log{4}8
4^x = 8
log{2}(4^x) = log{2}8 | log (x^y) = y log x
x log{2}4 = log{2}8
x * 2 = 3
x = 1,5

35. log{a}x = 3/2log{a}9 + log{a}2
log{a}x = log{a}(9^(3/2) * 2)
x = 9^(3/2) * 2
x = 54

39. log{a}(3x+5) - log{a}(x-5) = log{a}8
log{a}((3x+5)/(x-5)) = log{a}8
3x+5 = 8x-40
45 = 5x
x = 9

41. log{3}(x+2) + log{3}6 = 3
log{3}(x+2) = log{3}27/6
x+2 = 27/6
x = 27/6-2

log{3}(6x+12) = 3 | 3 = log{3}27
log{3}(6x+12) = log{3}27
6x + 12 = 27
6x = 15
x = 5/2

One major gripe I have with the 'new' engine (GF, A4)is the elimination of height variation. The huge cliff at the beginning of Nethergate was really cool, and I just find rolling hills to be more pleasing than endless plains, aesthetically speaking.

Oh, and a definite YES for secret doors! Banging my head on walls to find secret areas is loads of fun!

Physics Background in General

I was a bit unsure as to what my answer should be. I took ten courses in physics at my high school and also answered the physics questions in my final exam (matriculation exam), so I'd assume that's more than "a class in high school", but I was still uncomfortable with checking "courses in college", since I know from a few of my friends who continued to study physics at the university that it gets a lot more complicated than what we did. Still, I checked the college box.

Then again, releasing the source code would basically eliminate all future cash flows Jeff can hope to receive from the game, since anyone with half-decent computer skills could compile their own BoA. Good for the community, but bad for business.

Well, it does have some serious advantages over the spidweb site (being up-to-date, for one).

I've actually been wondering, would it be possible to add a permanent link to it (or a similar database, if such a thing exists) to the top of the BoA forum page?

It's getting more and more difficult to dig out the link from that old topic of Tyran's. And the official scenario page isn't that easy to find either.
