Two brothers, mother, father. Although technically I'm a household of one, and the rest of my family live in two other places, plus there's people, who I don't view as family but social services (or whatever) would count as extended family, living with them.

Ahh, post boosting time. (Like anyone reads all of these anyway.)

HAVE YOU EVER

SMOKED?
Never.
GOTTEN DRUNK?
I'm drunk right now. Naw, not really, but: yes, yes I have.
STOLE YOUR FRIEND'S BF/GF?
I have not.
PLAYED SPIN THE BOTTLE?
Yes. I was probably four.
GONE SWIMMING IN A WHITE T-SHIRT?
Nope.
BEEN TO A NUDE BEACH?
No.
BEEN CHEATED ON?
No.
BEEN WALKED IN ON WHILE YOU WERE DRESSING?
Probably, I don't really care about things like that.
BOUGHT SOMETHING WAY TOO EXPENSIVE?
Well, I guess that crappy dvd-recorder I bought was too expensive, seeing as I regret buying it.
PLAYED STRIP ANYTHING?(and you know who you are, plz don't lie :P )
...Yes.
PUNCHED YOUR PARENT?
Does throwing a tractor at my dad count?
GONE TO SLEEP NAKED?
I think not.
RAN AWAY FROM HOME?
No I have not.
WORE YOUR PAJAMAS IN PUBLIC?
Don't have any.
DANCED IN YOUR UNDERWEAR IN FRONT OF SOMEONE?
No.
MADE UP A FAKE IDENTITY WHEN YOU MET SOMEONE? A little bit, yeah. It didn't hold up well, though. I pretended to be a foreigner who didn't speak the language, but still managed to answer questions made in said language. Obviously question #2 played a role here.
BEEN IN LOVE? Tough one. Ah... No.
GOTTEN A HICKEY? Yes.
SLEPT IN A BED WITH A MEMBER OF THE SAME SEX /OPPOSITE SEX? Yes (brother). Yes.
HATED THE WAY YOU LOOK?
I've been unsatisfied with parts of my body, but have never hated the whole package.
CRIED YOURSELF TO SLEEP?
Nope.
DONE SOMETHING YOU TOLD YOURSELF YOU WOULDN'T DO?
Not sure. I've told people about my feelings and watched them change the next day, though.
SUNG IN THE SHOWER?
I have.
BEEN TOO SCARED TO WATCH A SCARY MOVIE ALONE?
I admit, I'm a bit of a wuss, when it comes to horror flics. So yes.
LAUGHED SO HARD THAT YOU CRIED?
As in tears of joy? Definitely.
FORGOTTEN SOMEONE'S NAME?
Is it even possible to remember all the people you've ever met, starting from the kids at kindergarten?
CRIED OVER SOMEONE?
I'm not sure. Might have.
SKIPPED SCHOOL?
Uh... no? In high school I often skipped classes, but we had this rule, that you could miss eight lessons in a course without having to explain yourself.
GOTTEN EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL?
No. I don't even think it's possible around here. They just ship you off to 'special class', if you cause trouble.
DONE DRUGS?
I have not.
GOTTEN A TICKET?
Not yet.
GOTTEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT?
Naw.
SCREAMED IN A LIBRARY?
No.
ASKED SOMEONE OUT?
Um, yes?
BEEN ON A PLANE?
I have.
BEEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY?
(I guess this is a bigger issue for you yanks?) I have.
PASSED OUT?
No. I was tired. And question #2. Mostly tired.
BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL?
Most definitely.
HAD SURGERY?
Yep.
PLAYED A TERRIBLE PRANK ON SOMEONE?
No.
MOCKED SOMEONE?
Well, a little teasing now and then never hurt anyone.
FAILED A CLASS ON PURPOSE?
No.
SEEN A GHOST?
I have never done drugs.
CRIED IN PUBLIC?
No.
BEEN HIT BY A PARENT?
No.
ATE DOG/CAT FOOD?
No. Although I hear some students do it, because it's so much cheaper, and still good eatin'.
WALKED INTO A WALL AND/OR DOOR?
Probably, being the klutz (<-FMT) I am.

Googling my name - with or without quotation marks - will yield exactly two results that refer to myself. A forum where I used to post using my real name, and a homepage I did as a school project in '98.

I actually googled my name some time last year, and noticed that the homepage was still up, in spite of the fact that I left the school in '99, and that it was hosted on a city-maintained server. Well, I was quite embarrassed by the whole page, and emailed upkeep with a request to bring it down - now even google cache hasn't got the page anymore.

My sentiments exactly. There was a time when I would gladly indulge in a theistic conversation, but nowadays it's as appealing to me as discussing the existence of the aforementioned spaceworm. (It does exist! Everyone who disagrees is wrong!) Still, good posts by SoT and Alec.

Ah, heck. Might as well throw in my five cents (we don't have 1 cent coins in circulation over here). I like to think of religion as a spiritual crutch of sorts. Because there's too much incomprehensible "evil" going on in the world, or too many bad things have happened near an individual, (s)he makes a decision that it can't all possibly be random. There has to be a power behind all this, and events just cannot be random occurrences. Creating a superhuman deity brings order into an otherwise chaotic seeming world. This is how I see personal belief as being born, cultural and group belief are different matters - I think.

Some interesting questions in General

1) My thoughts depend on the context. If I've been listening to a lecture/movie/album in English, my thoughts are also mostly in English. This happens quite often since pretty much all music I listen to is in English. Otherwise I obviously think in my first language.

2) I'm not very visual, so: Never thought of that, and I don't know.

3) If there was a movie made about my life, it would have to be either strongly fabricated, or a weird east-european art film in b&w. Anyways, whoever actually plays the role of me would be irrelevant.

As for Marlenny's problem: Sorry, I can't think of any young latin actresses, much less cute ones. I guess she would have to be some new talent?

Wow, would you look at that: wikipedia is your friend.

quote:
Running since 1956, the Eurovision Song Contest is an annual televised song contest with participants from numerous countries whose national television broadcasters are members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The Contest is broadcast on television and radio throughout Europe, in selected countries around the world, and on the Internet. It is one of the world's largest music competitions.
Basically it's a collection of cheesy, practically identical disco-pop songs from countries all over Europe + Israel.

What confounds me and my friends is why anyone would care if Jesus had a child (=the entire point of the Da Vinci Code?). But I guess we're just too paganic and wicked to understand the issue.

I've been lurking these boards for about as long as you've been a member, and for some reason (I can't imagine why) you've often come across as extremely arrogant and cocky. You seriously need to remove your head from whatever orifice it's crammed into, and see life for what it is. A little humility and self-criticism would bring you a long way - it's not like it's too late for you anyhow.

This post is not intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member, rather it is written in the hopes that a person can grow. (If anyone is insulted by the above, just add a giant :) around the text, and move along.)

I think you've missed the point of Eurovision. It's not about who can make the best song, it's about who can make the song that sucks the least. This year it was Finland - try to imagine what the other contestants were like.

What did you do last night?
—Lemme see. Last night, last night... I think I just watched tv and went to sleep.
The last thing you downloaded onto your computer?
—Not sure, but I'm quite confident that any of Stareye's answers will apply here.
Have you ever licked a 9 volt battery?
—Nope.
Type of music you dislike most?
—Upbeat pop. (I hate excessively happy people)
Are you registered to vote?
—Don't need to be. All citizens 18 y.o. or older are cleared to vote (unless you're a convicted felon - I think).
Ever made a prank phone call?
—Accidentally, but yes. (Don't ask)
Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving?
—Yes.
Furthest place you ever traveled?
—Crete. Or Milan. Whichever is furthest.
What's your favorite comic strip?
Concerned was the first to pop into my mind.
Best movie you've seen in the past month?
—V for Vendetta was okay. I'm going to see Da Vinci Code next week - I've got some high expectations for that one.
Favorite chocolate bar?
—A what bar? Edit: Oh, right. You mean an actual bar of chocolate. I was thinking something like a place where you go to eat/drink (hot) chocolate. Don't laugh! We don't have ice cream bars here either, I figured it was just another weird American thing. Anyways, the traditional local chocolate bar: Fazerin Sininen.
Have you ever won a trophy?
— :( Why'd you have to remind me? Well, it was a medal. And it felt real good getting it since I was expecting a cheque. Goddamn cheap bastards...
Favorite arcade game?
—RallyX.
Ever thrown up in public?
—Define "public".
Would you prefer being a millionaire or finding true love?
—Is this a trick question? MONEY!
If you had to spend a romantic evening with any sw member, who would you pick?
—Haven't really thought of this. Surprisingly enough, I'm not here to get chicks. Nevertheless, I pick... Premonition.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
—No.
Who do you think about most?
—At the moment, My Marianne.
Which celebrity do you think is hot, both female and male?
—The younger Uma Thurman, and Steve Buscemi
What's the worst medical problem you've ever had?
—A rather nasty colon infection.
What's your favorite sitcom?
—Arrested Development is pretty good.
Hottest sw male
—(These are tough questions) I'll avoid saying the traditional one, and answer: Salmon.
Last computer/video game you played
—Oblivion
Last movie you rented
—I have never in my life rented a video. I've been along when videos were rented, but have never paid for one myself.
Would you rather dump someone or be dumped?
—Be dumped.
Which sw member has the dirtiest mind?
—Beats me. TM?
Have you ever kissed someone and regretted it?
—I regret nothing.

Edit: Wow, that's two moronic misunderstandings in a very short time. I need sleep.

Off-topic: Does anyone else see a chronological problem with Meeshka's post? According to the header, it was made 12:15 a.m. when the following one made by Smuggler's Alliance was posted 10:43 a.m. Is this a whole new kind of weird that UBB has blessed us with, or am I not getting something?

...Wait, it's got something to do with the whole a.m./p.m. thing, doesn't it? Sorry, just ignore me.

Funnily enough, a Google search for "vagenhumpen" links to a SW thread.
I can think of a few reasons for that. For one, Wagen is written with a 'w'. Second, humpen doesn't really mean what it is intended to mean here.

(Aran, I'm very disappointed in you! I would have thought that a native speaker of German could write in his own language. And I'm not even getting into your preferences for Wagenhumpen. ( :P ))

Dreams in General

I rarely remember any dreams I've had, that's why I wasn't intending on posting. Then I remembered I did dream last night:

I was hanging out with some people (my dreams are very blurry, I can't say if I knew them), when a friend, who had been hospitalized earlier this week, showed up. I was so happy to see she was out, that I rushed over to her, and hugged her real hard. Then I remember asking her, if she had any stiches that I should watch out for. No, she said, so I hugged her again, and lifted her in the air. I was overjoyed. And that's where the dream broke off.

You can't tell, that I have a bit of a phobia for being in the hospital, can you?

Hmm. I better text her to find out if she's really gotten out. (Edit: She has. Oh joyous day.)
