The U.N. will be pleased to hear they have my approval. I was also pleased to see a unanimous decision as well as omitting the NATO bit.

As for this doing any good in Darfur, I vote for "wait-and-see".

God, I'm glad you English majors aren't technically allowed to breed.

That, sir, is an insult. Not the breeding part, the English major part. *ptooie*

Canadians won't be sending troops. Canadians will stay in Afghanistan instead. Canadians Will support with $$. Canadians will cut famine relief to 1/4 years previous commitment.

You're right; it'd be insane to expect the Canadian military to be capable of being in two missions at once. :P

Maybe if the government promised to match all private donations, it would inspire people to help the cause...

Generally while entertaining visiting dignitaries, and discussing international policy.

A lot of politicians are nasty, dishonest, disloyal, and stupid, but not many are lazy, nor is being an MP an easy job.

Really, they're doing you a favour. It's better to feel annoyed that somebody else is wasting your money than to feel guilty that you're wasting it yourself.

The best way to see your money being thrown into air by government is to attend the fireworks.

PS. Pez, do you know that your signature "Pezestroika" is not only a good quirk, but it also sounds like a quirk with Russian swears. Every time i read it, I catch myself at thought that you are swearing... :)

I don't really like my money being used to pay for someone else to eat an expensive dinner I don't even get to look at, especially when they are supposed to be at important meetings, or during their lunch break, pretty much whenever they feel like it.

Where is Darfur anyway?

Ford,

I cannot claim Pezestroika as my own, the great Slarty first coined it. I would have acknowledged in the signature line but it seemed funnier standing alone.

Bow before the great Slarty

In Sudan, which is in North Africa.

You know, Wikipedia may not always be a reliable source, but you can at least trust it to tell you where in the world a place is instead of annoying a whole forum about it.

Our own Slartifer M. Tuckersworth is worthy of veneration as well, if I do say so myself.
