I'm stuck in the Vanguard sewers. I've found three levers, one of which doesn't work, and one key on a dead sewer worker. Apparently there's supposed to be a boat somewhere, but so far no luck finding it. Any help? Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

I have the same problem with item stacking. It's been like this for me in three different scenarios, and stacking only seems to work with lockpicks and arrows/bolts, and not e.g. with mild healing potions. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

You seem to be in the right place... the boxes you mention are on a higher plateau with three boxes below, right? As far as I remember, the pelts were in the SE box, and they were found simply by looking at the box. Are you sure you have the quest, or that you haven't picked the pelts up earlier? If it's neither of those, then I'm all out of ideas. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

I'd say this is really a question of preference because personally I find it much easier when all the spells are under the same menu, each with its own hotkey (and with no capital letter usage required). Another vote for Lazarus's recommendation. Exiles 1 and 2 were pretty rough around the edges while 3 was the first Spiderweb game I finished. Based on what you said you liked about Exile, E3 has more of everything: Spells, weapons, skills, etc. It's also more challenging because of the dialogue system, where you need to look for keywords instead of just clicking through the options. Besides, that's just silly. You didn't even have a proper base-10 milestone. Silly, I say. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

Indeed. Why, just posting in all of the milestone topics will bring a person... oh, so much closer to the next one. These should really be limited to only one or two per month. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

Call Hunt. Or Wind Warriors. Or, in the case of me being completely and utterly wrong, and having no saved game to check for sure, something completely different. 'though I know for a fact it is not Glorious Revival. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

I assume you've visited the Crone caverns? Then you might want to search the hills west and north of Vanarium. There's at least one lair there that I found quite easy with my non-magic user Romans. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

At least I haven't run into any. Then again, Wall Ogres have an uncanny ability of hiding wherever there are walls, so if they choose not to be found, they won't be. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

The way I've understood it, the experience your group gains is adjusted based on your level and the level of your opponent, i.e. if you kill a bunch of low level goblins with a lvl 10 party, you're not supposed to gain any xp. If you're killing the same type of enemy, and are gaining xp with melee weapons but not with spells, then I'd assume there's something wrong. Email Jeff about it, or post in the 'Resurrection for Windows notes' thread maybe? Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

quote:Oi! As a matter of fact I am both dumb and lazy. I hadn't event bothered with trying to install the scenarios since all other pre-packed scenarios said "must be registered" in their descriptions, and wouldn't launch. EDIT: Seems to work when you copy all the contents of the scenario into the bladscen folder. At least it worked for Falling Stars. Thank you ADoS. EDIT 2: Oh expletive. It seems I can't get Small Rebellion or Za-Khazi Run anywhere. Despite what ADoS said, they're not hosted on Gizmo's or Kelandon's sites. And Vista won't let me install the BoE demo since it's apparently 16-bit. Could someone host the two remaining pre-packed scenarios? Pretty please? I am an atheist, plain and simple. I do not believe in the existence of anything supernatural, much less powerful deities who have an interest in the workings of humanity. Anything happening in this world and perceived as supernatural is simply something that we cannot understand – yet. My relationship with theists is a tolerant one. I will not bother them as long as they leave me to my own devices. Thankfully, where I live this peaceful coexistence is possible since religion is not something we flaunt openly. Over eighty percent of Finns belong to the Lutheran church; in spite of this fact I have only met one person of my age who is openly theist. All of my friends either do not discuss the matter or are openly atheist. Even though I have nothing against theists per se, I must confess to thinking less of anyone who speaks of a deity in a serious tone. I see religion, especially a personally felt spiritual connection to a deity, as a sort of emotional crutch. Because the world has demonstrated itself to the individual in question as a hostile or uncontrollable place, (s)he needs to retort to an external force of for balance. Because seeing the world as as chaotic and unpredictable as it is to them would be too much, theists need to believe in a grand design behind things. The most difficult memory I have concerning religion is when I went to confirmation camp (a common event in any Finnish teenager’s life) I was basically forced to lie about believing in God. *This trip down memory lane spurred by Tyran’s recitation above.* [ Wednesday, July 11, 2007 13:10: Message edited by: Redstart ] Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

I'm afraid transferring parties from one Spiderweb game to another is not possible. Each of the series, though set in the same world, portrays the adventures of a whole new group of people. The only Spiderweb game where you can take your party from a previous adventure to a new one, is Blades of Avernum (and it's earlier version, Blades of Exile). About customizing: apparently you're playing the games with Windows. The windows versions of the games have no built-in music in them, unlike from what I've understood the mac versions. I usually just play the games with the sound turned off, and with my own choice of music playing in the background. Messing around with the bmp's however, is very much possible. Just take backups of the files first, and whatnot. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |

Call answered. I'd say that my chances of being picked are pretty slim though, seeing as I have no real beta testing experience. Probably the only thing I have going for me is my OS: 64 bit Vista. Posts: 353 | Registered: Monday, January 9 2006 08:00 |
