You mean a topic in the general forum announcing who had the last post in this forum? It's not even worth it. And yet Dikiyoba is still posting in this forum. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Re cancerous diplomat fantasy: It wasn't named as a tumor but it was described as such. It was a malignant, too, so I feel it can be described as cancer. Magically caused cancer but still cancer. True, it didn't keep the main character honest but it did help him negotiate with the sly king of a different country. (The king was the one who called him unbribeable.) That's about the only scene I can recall with any certainty but I remember the gods too. They felt as if they actually belonged to that world, whereas a lot of gods feel thrown in just to give a character or plot supernatural powers or to give characters someone to worship and/or curse. Just something about Spiderweb Software games: Dikiyoba hopes that Geneforge 5 will be the next game out and that players will be given the chance to be a Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Spider. Actually, green kid only switched two letters. That's not too bad. It's not good, obviously, but not all that bad. It's funnier to read the posts of someone who doesn't know how to spell chitrach. Dikiyoba learned how to spell Vahnatai because Dikiyoba is doing a BoA scenario involving Vahnatai and it just made sense to name them correctly. To be honest, Dikiyoba only notices people by their posting, not by their lack of it. For instance, Arancaytar was on recently because he's the last poster on several topics. Or was, until Dikiyoba came along. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. Dikiyoba is thankful that everything can be found on the Internet if one is willing to look hard enough for it. Up to this point, Dikiyoba couldn't remember exactly what it was called. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Avernum is a little closer to normal medival fantasy than Geneforge but the first thing I think of when I hear fantasy is elves, dragons and wizards not Vahnatai, slithzerikai, and GIFTS. A long time ago though, Dikiyoa read a fantasy novel where the lead character was dying from cancer. It made him an unbribeable diplomat. How often do people think cancer when they hear fantasy? Edit: Simutaneous posting. No wonder it was taking so long to load. I don't really like the limited number of adventures a day either but it's probably better for me not to be able to play as long as I want. I don't like the KoL forums, either. Too much secrecy, too many spoiler tags, and not enough sense of community. [ Friday, January 27, 2006 22:36: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Besides, having too many forums would clutter up the forum home page. Edit: In Dikiyoba's previous post, Dikiyoba was refering to the topics on what G4 may look like or what people would like to see in G4 before it actually comes out, not about future G4 topics after G4 comes out. Dikiyoba apologizes for the lack of clarity. [ Friday, January 27, 2006 21:09: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Kingdom of Loathing. www.kingdomofloathing.com. Either you'll like it or you won't. I happen to like it. Edit: Dikiyoba also writes stories, so Dikiyoba doesn't have to go anywhere for those. That doesn't help anyone else any, of course, and they aren't games, but Dikiyoba is never bored. With the Order Of Zany Electronics around, there's never a dull moment. It's easier to have one place to reach all the Geneforge topics rather than having to visit three different places. The less time my computer spends loading, the happier I am. I would even prefer to have the BoA forum and the BoA editor forum combined. Besides, Dikiyoba notices that there are lots of general Geneforge topics (like this one.) Where would this topic go if they were all separate? Where would debate over Geneforge 4 go? Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

It depends on how hard the character gets hit. A small amount of damage causes death, a large amount of damage causes dust. Maybe your nephil doesn't have as good of armor or as high of statistics as your humans and sliths to reduce the amount of damage taken. As far as NPCs go, sliths are way more powerful than nephil, though in A2 there was a fort of powerful nephar. Humans are all over the place, from weak bandits to powerful elite soldiers. Dikiyoba's nephil gets killed or turned to dust a lot more often than the other characters but only because Dikiyoba's nephil is at the front of the party and so the enemies attack it more often. Dikiyoba thoroughly enjoys destroying pylons. Sure, they're dangerous, but what's life for if not for overcoming the annoying challenges? Edit: Grammar. [ Friday, January 27, 2006 15:51: Message edited by: Dikiyoba ] Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Takers in G2 and Rebels in G3 especially. The Awakened in G2 weren't nearly as bad. It's just the head researcher in the Magus Complex who's evil and crazy. I secretly imagine that I kill him and allow someone with a little more sanity to take over. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Do you get some sort of error message? An unhandled exception or something? I may have had a similar situation once but I no longer have that problem. Dikiyoba. Edit: Sentence structure. It wasn't. yoeppy also can't spell and assumed everyone here was male. There are very few members I will disparage but yoeppy has become such a member. Since yoeppy doesn't mind stealing, stealing any chance of a good reputation won't bother yoeppy. There are worse things to do on the first post but Dikiyoba can't think of anything, since double posting would be more than one post. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

So the entire point of one of the games will be to track down Ghaldring, slay his followers, destroy his outposts, and then kill him? If it isn't to people's satisfaction, one could always jack up Ghaldring's level in the script or start a story about it in this forum. Dikiyoba hopes we kill Ghaldring soon and be done with the series. The longer the series goes on, the more anticlimatic the battle will seem, no matter how difficult the final fight is. The fight against Trajkov in G1 seemed climatic at the time because that was the whole story at that point. Edit: Sentence structure. Dark waters (in A2, I'm assuming) is perfectly okay to return to start if you also return all boats to start. It's how I pick up all the loot found in the area. The only problem is that it makes "blackness" appear in all the outdoor areas. Dikiyoba. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |
